This place is mostly a breakfast place. Their lunch menu is pretty lacking. After looking over the menu wanting lunch, I wound up having a breakfast sandwich. There is not much on the menu that is remotely healthy(no oatmeal, fruit etc.). The breakfast sandwich was fine, nothing to shout about. Won’t be back. Their menu just isn’t exciting.

First time to eat breakfast here, I had the highway drifter, delicious biscuits & gravy meal and hubby loved the urban florentine omelette. Don’t let the name fool ya, this is a full service diner, great customer service and quick service. Finally a great breakfast spot in T-town!

I had seen this place in development for some time and finally checked it out on a Friday morning. It was about 9:15 am and mostly full – a good sign. I came for the donuts and, maybe, a breakfast sandwich. I didn’t realize until then that it was also a diner and made note to try it out another time. I got in line for the donuts with one lady in front of me and a pair of ladies being helped. Unfortunately, this was one of those times in which people in front of you take forever to finish being served for no clear reason. How long can it take to order some coffee and donuts??? Evidently, a really long time. Needless to say, I had plenty of time to figure out what I wanted. I ordered chocolate cake donuts and blueberry cake donuts and a large soda. I was served fairly quickly once I’d placed my order. I took my goodies over to a sitting area that seemed designed for those not ordering off the menu, although it wasn’t quite clear. My soda was a large but was mostly filled with ice, so it emptied quickly. Why do that? You’re making a great margin off soda; why be so cheap? The chocolate donut was actually a plain donut with«chocolate» icing. The icing was not very chocolate-tasting. I only ate one and tossed the rest. The blueberry one had great texture but the taste was flat. This type is usually one of my favorites but they need to work at getting the flavor right. Advice: 1) add another person behind the counter, 2) get the owner to the entry to greet people and explain how things work, 3) work on donut quality. Donuts are in the name of your business. If yours are lousy, you’ve lost. Will I be back? Never say never, but it’s highly unlikely.

This was our first time here. It was busy on this Saturday at 11:30, but not packed. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the croissant Sammy with egg, sausage, lettuce, tomato and avocado, with the fried potatoes on the side. It was delicious and a very large portion. They also have donuts and pastries, but we were too full after eating. The place is very clean, including the bathrooms, and the staff is friendly. The menu is not huge, but they have a decent selection for breakfast or lunch. The coffee was hot and tasted good. I recommend this establishment and will be back.

It’s sad that anywhere in America could still have«Freedom» Toast on their menu(as opposed to French Toast, you know because France didn’t the Iraq war 13 years ago.) This is a new restaurant, too. Embarrassing. The good news is that they are already showing the usual signs of a restaurant that will go under in a couple months. On a previous visit, they failed to fill a donut that was sold as filled, even though they did it to order. This was our first opportunity to see the whole menu. It’s pretty weak, even by chain standards. Won’t be back. As for the food. It was bland.

Ate here today with the kids. The dining area was busy and it took about 5 minutes to get a table. This was just enough time for the kids to scan the donut counter. Bottomless coffee was definitely bottomless, had about 3 cups and was never waiting for more. Had the Early Bird breakfast burrito with green chili that was delicious. Also had a Kolache which was pretty awesome. Lots of food for under $ 9. Kids each had the the french toast kids meals that had really goods eggs and bacon. French toast was just OK, but its not. my thing. The food took a little long for breakfast, but not unreasonably long for a full dining area. The wait allowed us all to pick out a donut for after. The donut selection was really good. Looks like there was a custom fill station for donuts that had 4 filling options. We didn’t get it, but will be worth a trip back justfor that. Overall experience was great. Food was tasty, donuts were tasty, coffee was good and service was super nice. Met the owner and his attitude was great, hope they continue to have success so we can keep eating here.

I grew up loving the biscuits & gravy at the Daylight on 120& Colorado, and was interested in trying this place. I often judge the quality of the food based on their b&g. Pros: they actually have donuts(other one rarely does when we get in), nice staff(even cleaned the high hair for our one year old, great bacon, amazing pancakes Cons: skimpy on the gravy(felt like I was mostly eating dry biscuits) and syrup, $ 9+ entrees(much more than the other Daylight) All in all — glad we went. I’d go again and try something else… and definitely get a donut to try as well.

Well, looks like I’m swimming upstream on this review, so perhaps they were just having a bad day. We arrived around 11AM on a Sunday. The place was about 80% full. If you’re looking for what I call«Colorado Cuisine,» look elsewhere. No fruit or even oatmeal on the breakfast menu. Selections were pure midwest. No look toward healthy eating that we could detect. But, hey, it was our decision to stay and go with that, so the menu is the menu. Our order was taken within about 10 minutes by a guy who spent the whole time looking at his electronic ordering device. He was less than welcoming. Neither of us(wife and I) were hungry enough for a full meal, so we ordered a la carte. I recommend this, by the way, because the a la carte prices were CRAZY low. A full sized waffle for $.99? Really? GREAT! So, my wife ordered a waffle and a side of ham. I ordered 2 eggs, over easy, side of ham, and toast. The wait for food was long… probably 30 minutes or so. They brought the food. My wife’s «adult-sized» plate contained the waffle, and there was one small plate containing both(?) side orders of ham. Then my eggs came on a side-order plate as well. So, I asked for a «big boy plate,» which the server brought almost immediately. I ordered 2 eggs, got 3. But they were overcooked, not over easy. My food was cold. Not cold cold, but somewhere between room temp and body temp. I’m easy to please, but the food felt cool on my tongue so I sent it back. Server said the plate would be re-made. Fine. The warmer food came back in about 5 or so minutes. This time 2 eggs, cooked over-easy as ordered, ham, potatoes(which I never ordered) and no toast(which I DID order.) Shouldn’t food be served on a warm to hot plate? I think this might have kept my food warm enough to eat. Plates were cold, so whatever heat was in the food, was sucked out upon contact with that plate. This time the food was pretty good. I ate the potatoes, and didn’t complain about the missing toast. The only good news was the bill. We were not«comped» for anything, charged for the missing toast, not charged for one of the eggs and the unwanted potatoes, and not charged for 2 coffees. I assume that to be an oversight. Total? Just under $ 10! But, all things considered, a bad experience. We’ll not be going back.

I remeber visiting the Daylight Doughnuts on 120th and Colorado back in high school, so I was ridiculously excited when this location was opening up. My daughter and I decided to check this place out last week, but much to our disappointment, the excitement by far superceded reality. We waited over 15 minutes to be seated due to the fact that 6⁄12 of the tables were dirty, and, one seated, we waited another 15 minutes to be greeted. Once greeted, we ordered 2 waters and our breakfast, and after 20 more minutes we still didn’t have our beverages or food. While waiting, my 9 year old daughter glanced up at the tv and asked«daddy, what’s a tag team?». The television in the restaurant was tuned to Jerry Springer, and the theme of the show was«Tag Team Sex Scandal». Needless to say we left immediately, and, given the overall disregard for customer satisfaction, I seriously doubt we’ll ever go back.
