Hawaiian Falls The Colony

We are usually patrons of the Roanoke location, but came for a change of scenery. While we appreciated the extra rides and the cleanliness of the lazy river, the food was a major disappointment. Coming from Roanoke where you can get pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, dogs, grilled sausage etc. to this where our only option was nasty nachos, hot dogs that wouldn’t be ready for 10 minutes or cold pizza was a let down. I guess we will have to pack in all of our food next time. :-/​Come on HFalls… you can do better than this.

Fun place with some really awesome slides! However, the service should be better. We didn’t pack a lunch. So, we had to eat there. The staff working were clueless. The bbq area didn’t have a long line, but we had to leave our food and leave the line after what seemed like forever just trying to pay because they overcharged someone. It literally took probably 15 minutes just to ring up one lady with just a few things. They didn’t have a menu up and had drinks signs, but not the drinks. We then wanted a funnel cake and were sent all over the park to find out they were actually just out. Not a lot of the staff were very pleasant. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when you pay to get in to the park… you expect to be able to use the things advertised.

What a fun place with a little bit of something for everyone! The lazy river is nice and long. The kiddie splash area has plenty of water features and a couple of toddler-​friendly slides. There are also some craaaazy water slides for big kids/​adults. Lots of seating, some with umbrellas for shade, some with tables. The wave pool was fun, but honestly the waves get a little big and scary and if you have a kid that relies on floaties to swim, it’s probably safer to stay closer to the «shore.»
There’s a place to buy food that we didn’t try. The bathroom was decently clean for a water park. There’s also a dippin dots knockoff, but it’s cash only so if your kid is expecting ice cream, come prepared.
It wasn’t particularly crowded when we went, which was nice. We’ll be back.

This has the potential to be a good water park but I have been twice this year with my kids and both times one of the major slides Is not open. The torpedo had only one slide working due to a maintenance issue. One of the other slides was closed due to a maintenance issue-​basically taken apart. It seems as if they can’t get the maintenance side of running the park together and it’s just the start of the season. I’ve eaten here both times and they were out of or didn’t have ready items that were on the menu much less the items that are supposedly coming soon. Not sure if management is up to par at this particular location. With that said we have had fun both times we have come. Good variety of slides etc… And the staff all seem friendly. I will probably come again but really hope they are able to get their management and maintenance issues resolved.

Our family have been season pass-​holders for years. Really like the place. Very good place to be on a hot day. Good lazy river. Plenty of tubes. If that was all I was rating I would give it five stars but I must say something about the food. I don’t know if they have a food manager or not but they need one desperately. They have no fries, no hamburgers or chicken strips. It’s on the menu but they don’t have them. Yesterday I decided to get the bbq brisket sandwich plate. Even though the smokers were smoking. The brisket was dried out and hard as beef jerky. Must have been several days old. The kids working there were nice but know nothing about serving food and should have a manager ensure that food is fresh. When asked if that was like all the brisket they had the guy said. There is no more left. We are waiting for more to come. At that point I ate the chips and threw the sandwich in trashcan.

Hmm, based on the reviews here I see the breastfeeding Nazi’s alive and well.
My $ 0.02 … as a former breastfeeding mum… Cover up, I have no interest in seeing your girls or any other privates for any reason. Yes breastfeeding is a perfectly natural thing… as are several other bodily functions I don’t care to see either. Is modesty a lost concept?

I like this HF. I have younger kids who get turned away from nearly every slide at the bigger parks (Hurricane Harbor, SeaWorld etc) so I have never really had any interest in water parks, especially small neighborhood ones that I assume are just dirty and run down.
I got free passes to this location and after that visit I returned as a paying customer. I’m considering getting passes for this summer.
I like that its small but not too small so you can go through all the attractions in one day. The slides are mild to moderate in thrill factor so the little ones can try them too. We tend to spend most of our time here in the splash area. I didn’t find it hard to find some place to sit but then I’ve only been there on weekdays, I imagine its hellish on weekends.
As for the griminess, the restrooms could be cleaned up a tad more often. (Disney parks should really offer classes on how to do this to other parks, theirs are very clean whilst serving very many people) The attractions are showing some age but are still in very good condition IMO. Not run down like I expected.
The food is a no-​go for me, I might try the hotdogs one day but we mostly bring our own or eat somewhere close. We stick to pre-​packaged snacks and Ice cream while we are here.
Overall its a great day out for the younger kiddos– tweens. Older teens may find it slow and most adults here are bringing kids so, manage your expectations and you should have a good time.

I love coming here for the end of season dog event. Staff is always super friendly. I feel like the place is super secure. Even though it was a bit cloudy this year my dogs had a blast! The lockers are a bit on the pricey side, but who brings valuables to a water park anyway? Place was clean, they also kept up with the dogs messes pretty well. I will surely be there again in 2016! Btw I have a chow chow and a husky mix.

We went went to Hawaiian Falls in The Colony for the first time this summer. We went for an after hours event on a Weekend evening and had a great time. There were some rides with considerable lines, but we all had a great time so it was worth the wait. The staff all seemed to be polite and diligent in carrying out their jobs. The concession stands weren’t open when we were there, but they did serve burgers, hot dogs, chips and canned sodas. They were fine. The bathrooms… I can only comment as to the condition of the women’s bathroom and, well, it could have been better. A lot better. We were there after a long day of use on a very busy day, so maybe that explains it… Overall, we had a blast, but we left in agreement that the only way we would go back is if we could go to an after hours event or on weekday when it isn’t quite as crowded.

Close by and perfect for elementary age; also free parking. Disappointing that the lazy river had so few inner tubes. There were more people walking in the lazy river than floating! Wave pool could also use more tubes. Food was expensive; a hamburger was $ 10 and hot dog was $ 8. Lines were lengthy. Overall happy because I know my kid had fun.

Because someone was kicked out for breastfeeding I will never be attending this park. I don’t even know this woman. If I have to look at women’s breasts hanging out all day I would much rather it be for breastfeeding than for barely clothed women who think we need to see that just because. Shame on you! Breastfeeding is a natural part of life that keeps babies healthy! Shame on you! Unless a public apology is made and they are given free passes then me and my family of ten will NEVER attend here! Shame on you.

Management at this location escorted a mother and her family out of the park for breastfeeding in public. In a place where other women were walking around in swimsuits so small you needed magnifying glasses to see them, this woman was scorned for nourishing her child. This is clearly NOT a family friendly place. I definitely will NOT be going back. The one in Garland is just as good.

On a hot Texas day this place was the only place to be. We were lucky to get one of the last cabanas available that day. The cabana offered a great retreat during the busy summer season. Our server Jordan was great! I found the entire staff helpful and easy to communicate with. There were places I saw a bit of trash but that’s has to be expected with so many people. Guests should do a better job about securing their trash in a proper trash can instead of waiting for someone to pick up after them. It’s just common sense and the polite thing to do.
I want to send a special Thank You to the front gate staff who were very helpful and professional when I had things in my bag that were not allowed in the park. They obviously have great managers who have taught them what great customer service looks like! Bravo!

This is a awesome place, my kids have a great time, they want to go back right the next day.

I’ll start with the only bad part. The Whirlwind 360. This ride hurts. I went first and my butt hit every seem and it was ouch ouch ouch ouch. My daughter went next and hit her elbow on a seem. She went to first aid and got some ice on it. It’s still bruised and swollen 6 hours later. Very poorly constructed ride. Safety inspectors need to not just look at it but actually ride it. Moving on. The 4 stars is because the rest of the park was great. The rides the people the parking. All awesome. Will be back but will avoid the Whirlwind 360.

My teen boys called after 2 hours and said, «Pick us up. This is not fun. The lines are too long.» That would be over $ 100 for 2 hours of entertainment for 3 boys. Not worth it.

Love Hawaiian Falls! Such a great concept for a family who travels throughout Texas. The Colony Park is as fun as Garland and Roanoke. Looking forward to visiting the other newer parks in White Settlement and Pflugarville! Looks as though they are bigger and even better!

This is for sure the crown jewel of all the park, just like the owner said. I love this location. Awesome slides, great ropes course, zip line, lazy river and wave pool. So fun!!! Bought a season pass and will buy one every year! Great location!

Great place to go with young kids! Our experience was thru Vacation Bible School family night and the cost was much lower than it normally would be. We never ate there so did not have to pay steep prices for food. We took lots of snacks and kids were just fine.
The is a lot of variety in activities. Kids never got bored.
Facility was very clean. Staff was awesome.
We will go back at some point. Not a place we would frequent but certainly a nice place to visit once in a while.

Love this place! For $ 10, you can bring a cooler and your own food in, which is great because there are NO healthy options. The kid splash area is fun enough to keep mom and dad entertained and the wave pool/​lazy river are great!
My only complaint is the lines for the bigger slides are SUPER long! Great place for the price!

Hmmmmm… I’m clearly not the Water Park type of person since my impression is that this place is crowded and run-​down. I’m currently sittning on a broken sunbed in some sort of Redneck Cabana after coming back from waiting inline in two rides — not getting to ride since it took waaaaaaay to long to stand in line. The big (literally) families here seem to love it though so I’m assuming I’m an exception. Very interesting experience though! :-)
Added: The kids working here are great though — they are doing a fantastic job — and thats impressive!

I thought this park was great for the price. It was my first time here with my family. We did purchase the 4 person family pack from Costco. It was 4 passes, 4 lunches, and 4 unlimited sodas for $ 100. $ 25 per person with food and drinks; can’t beat it.
The park was pretty well maintained and clean. We were there on a Sunday. The slides and wave pool were great. The slide lines were moderate. Some slides were as fast as 5 mins and some were 15 mins. The 2 person purple slide was a 30 min wait and not worth it.
The kids play structure was cool. The kids structure had 3 water slides that were very good. I have 2 kids around 8 yrs old. They loved the structure.
The negative was that there are limited number of tubes to ride the lazy river and float in the wave pool. You can rent a tube but its not worth it.
Also, you have to get there early because chairs and tables get taken quickly.
Over all i thought this place was great for the money and will take my family there again. Using the costco package.

Ripped off not once but twice now. Will never bring my family here again. Christian values obviously do not apply to the poorly ran operation here.
Had an unused ticket from last season (by the way you can not use but the season you purchased in) which is not noted anywhere on the ticket or on the website. Looks like a great legality issue if any one else has experienced this.
Went today and printed the buy one Big Kahuna, get one free (only applies if you buy at the gate which makes no sense if you buy on-​line or front gate??? Was going in the gate, handed the full price ticket and the coupon for one free, young girl told us to go to only being chased down by another girl named Brea.
Brea proceeded to tell me that I needed to back into the ticket line to purchase another Big Kahuna ticket, asked for a manager, she stated she was the manager. Have to state Brea had a complete lack of customer service, rude, incompetent and needs to be fired.
30min later after standing back in the ticket line…
Brea would not give me back my Big Kahuna ticket I purchased on-​line, so I got to pay twice, but obviously to hard to figure out that I have now paid twice. Young immature kids should never hold any position like this, its to complicated to understand at a waterpark.
and yes, any reviews stating the kids that run the place here, are usually to busy talking to one another, good reason lines take so long…
Don’t waste your time here, Schlitterbahn will be the only place your should go. Only if they would build up in North Texas, and put HF out of business.

Perfect for the family! Christian oriented, the staff are welcoming and very engaging. Feel free to bring food and drinks, though there are plenty of food options here. Fun positive music played along with games for the kids. Love it!

Love this place, just make sure to come Monday thru Thursday. Friday and Saturday are crazy. I have season passes and go once a week, my boys love the place. The only downfall is trying to find a place to keep your things while you are swimming. There is very limited seating.

Recently went here for my daughter’s 10^th birthday. Kids had fun but pretty small and not a whole lot of shade. Lazy river, wave pool, and rainforest great for younger kids. There were a few larger slides for older kids. Food was absolutely terrible. We purchased the Costco 4 pack and one additional ticket, including combo meals and unlimited drinks. However, I think we probably didn’t need the unlimited drinks and I would never eat the food again. If we went back, we would take a cooler.
Pro: Plenty of parking, pretty clean, and great for younger kids.

I bring my daughter here at least once a summer. Thought after this trip, I think she’s getting too old.
I had some friends with me who say they like this location over Garland. That it has more rides, more park and smells way better. That’s a big plus to me and I will not be going to the Garland location anytime soon.
That being said, I think $ 27 for adults and big kids is a bit much but they do try and offer you lots of discounts if you look on their website first. $ 10 per cooler when Hurricane Harbor will not even let you bring one in.
I wish they had more big pools with diving boards and smaller slides so when you just want to cool off, you have a deep pool to get into. They do not have those at HF’s.
