Elite Care 24 Hour Emergency Room

I went in this place cause I had I terrible earache the had more time to filled in paper than a consulting the doctor seem for 2 minutes and billed me for 1000 dollars. It because I blue cross. I guess is chipset to spend a whole week in Vegas than 1 hours in this place.

If you want great service, caring people and top notch healthcare this is your place. If you want to be ignored while you sit next to a gang member with a bullet wound and wait for your number to be called head to one of the big regional hospitals. Oh and here is a little secret some of the other reviews seem to overlook, your going to get charged the same fee at «all ERs». If you don’t know what your insurance covers or does not cover that’s on you. My only gripe is there aren’t more Elite facilities in the Metroplex

I have never had to go to the E.R. in my adult life until 2015 when I unfortunately had to visit twice. I went to Elite Care E.R. in December for kidney stone pain. I previously visited the E.R. of a major hospital in April of this year for similar pain, so I feel I have a pretty good reference point to compare the two.
The difference between Elite Care and the E.R. at the hospital I went to is like the difference between eating at a sit down restaurant or eating at a fast food place. Elite Care quickly ushered me into a patient room to lie down. The E.R. at the hospital sat me down in a chair asked me questions for ten minutes while I was in excruciating pain despite the fact my wife was with me and could have answered them without me.
Elite Care’s room was amazing very clean and modern with a bench for my wife to sit and relax on. The major hospital’s room was not welcoming and while I am sure it was clean it did not appear so.
Elite Care I saw the doctor quickly which was Dr. Castro (he was amazing!) and I received pain medication within 30 minutes of my arrival. I was still in pain after the first dose and then they administered something stronger which completely took away my pain. At the major hospital It took over 2 hours to receive any type of pain medication and then it did not completely manage my pain.
Elite Care quickly got me in for a CT Scan and it was determined I had a kidney stone. and sent me home after my pain was under control. I subsequently required surgery to break up the stone. Major hospital E.R. did a sonogram and did not see any stones. and then admitted me for further observation and sent me home a day later.
As far as billing goes my insurance was accepted by Elite Care and I paid far less here than I did at the hospital for the emergency part though in full disclosure I did have different insurance at the time.
My overall experience with Elite Care was fantastic! All emergency rooms should be this well organized, clean, and friendly.
Dr. Castro was amazing and called more than once to check and follow up on how I was doing. My wife was able to get coffee and have some snacks and was very comfortable. My wife and I agree if we every require emergency room care we only want to go to Elite!

I had an asthma attack and couldn’t wait to see my regular doctor. From the moment I walked into this place, I was met with a sense of urgency and compassion. I was taken back to a room immediately and within minutes was breathing better. The front office, nursing staff, and doctor were all so kind and professional. As far as the complaints with the costs, it’s an emergency room, it comes at a cost but if you have an emergency, it’s a cleaner, faster option than any hospital emergency rooms, and there was no wait. If highly recommend

I had a great experience at this ER. There was no wait and we came on a Sunday night. The doctor dr Chantal I believe was amazing. She helped me and made me feel at ease. They even called me two days later to see how I was feeling. I will definitely come here again. Although I haven’t gotten the bill yet :)

I have chronic migraines and have come to this facility numerous times for assistance. Not once did they deny me help and medications to calm my pain. Michelle as well as more than one doctor were professional, courteous, pleasant, and attentive to my needs as well as my husband who sat with me while I was treated. Thank you for being there and available when I needed care.

My family has used this ER as needed since we moved to Texas and have had positive experiences up until my last (and final) visit. The expense never bothered me because I have really good insurance and value convince over bargains.
I sought treatment last week for complications from an outpatient medical procedure that I’d had earlier that day. Rather than helping me feel better, they treated me like a worthless piece of shit who was only there to obtain medication false pretenses. Not only was this apparent in the questions they asked, their explicit refusal to do anything but call my doctor (despite the fact that it was after 11 pm and I told them my doctor does not have an after hours on call service) but they didn’t even bother to help me arrange the bed so I could comfortably lie down. Instead, I had to lay with my forehead at the foot of the bed with my legs wrapped under me. Laying there in the dark for what seemed like an eternity was pretty horrible — so much so that I finally walked out of the ER and drove myself home even though I should not have been driving. The life of someone with a chronic illness is a tough one and people like those in the ER that night just make it worse for people like me.
I will never use this ER or any other locations again. I will never take members of my family for emergency treatment either.
ERs are supposed to help people, especially in the middle of the night when one’s regular doctor is not reachable. This ER failed me and humiliated me in the process. Never again will I give them an opportunity to treat me this way. It’s so disappointing.

First, let me comment on the super-​divided reviews. It’s an ER. ER’s are expensive, especially when you don’t have good insurance. Period. That’s the way it is. You even sign something up front that says something to the effect of, «This is an ER and it entails ER charges.»
Now, our family had a wonderful experience at this Elite Care. My son had a bite swell up horribly, to the point where we were worried he was having an allergic reaction. It was after-​hours at most locations, and this was the closest 24-​hour location. So I called ahead and was told there was no wait. Sure enough, we show up and there’s no wait — and it’s a Saturday night! Amazing. (I’m sure they got busy later — we came around 8 – 8:30 PM.)
The nurse manning the front desk was all-​business at first, as ER nurses often are, but she warmed through our visit. The other nurse was also nice and was good with our son (who’s only almost 3 and tends to be afraid of doc offices). The actual doc was wonderful — Dr Thakkar, I believe his name was. He was VERY good with our son. All told, we were in and out of the place in less than an hour. Amazing. The facility was VERY nice — looked brand new (been open for a couple of years) — and extremely clean. The «kid» patient room we were put in had a couple of nice touches — an elephant hanging from the ceiling and a basket full of little teddy bears for the taking. The front waiting area also had chilled drinks — water, sodas, other stuff — for patients. Very nice waiting area.
Lastly, they gave us a follow-​up call the next day to make sure everything was okay. I thought that was a really nice touch. And I had a couple of follow-​up questions, so it was great.
So yes, I have good insurance and I know that helped everything immensely. Again, if you don’t have insurance or your insurance is bad or you have government insurance, I’m so sorry — ER’s are pretty horrible when it comes to charges. But this place is a class-​act.

The doctor, nurses and staff were very quick and efficient, I didn’t have to wait. I got the medications I needed and the proper diagnosis. I would tell anyone to use Elite Care.

This is an emergency room, and fees are charged as such. They tell you this when filling out paperwork. If you know your insurance coverage, every insurance company covers the emergency room visits differently than doctor office visits. Yes it is expensive, but you should be going there for emergencies, in which case it is a quicker and much more pleasant experience, than sitting in a hospital emergency office for hours.
If they charged like a doctor visit or Care Now, they couldn’t be an «emergency» facility, as your wait would be like waiting at walk-​in clinics — long!

I took my son here when he hurt his arm thinking it was maybe broken or fractured, and that decision was a mistake. The reviews are true, and oh how I wish I had looked on here first and not after. The front desk person claims to take your insurance and doesn’t tell you until the end that they’re not really «in network» with any insurance company but they use words like maybe and most of the time the insurance will cover it as in network. But you really don’t know until they file the claim. So It took about two months but I have now received three bills totaling over $ 1,500 and that is after my insurance paid their portion. This place charges outrages prices for procedures and just to walk in the door, so even when insurance does make their adjustments you are still paying an extremely inflated amount out of pocket. And of course this goes to your deductible so it really is out of pocket. One strange thing is the bills came in my sons name, he’s a minor.
My son walked in with his arm in a sling and when they found it was fractured and he needed a temporary cast they were trying to put him into another brand-​new sling even though I had asked them to use the one that I brought in. Watch out for opportunities they will take to over charge you for things like this or an ibuprofen.
The facility is new, really nice, clean, and all the equipment looked brand-​new. The staff is super nice and overly accommodating but when they charging what they charge I would expect them to be. I do not remember who the doctor was, he didn’t leave a lasting impression. The nurse was very nice and sweet to my son. The whole visit was about 30 minutes.
They had drinks and snacks in the waiting room. Might as well take advantage of those because you’re definitely paying for them.
They did call a few days later to follow up on my son.
My dealings with the billing: They send bills monthly. All the bills look identical except for the return address. I called once about a duplicate charge and was told it was correct and there was nothing they could do about it, by a not so friendly representative I’ll add. Once I received all the bills the Facility, doctor and whatever place read the X-​ray images. I called again about that duplicate charge (talked to a different person) and was told it would be looked into and could take 30 days to get a response. Still waiting on that response.

Excellent. Highly efficient and professional. Dr Cruz was wonderful. Short wait period, and comfortable surroundings.
Reading some of the other reviews, I am not sure why anyone would come in not expecting an ER bill. It is an ER. And if you don’t know, ask. That was my first question before proceeding, and everything was explained to me in detail. Nothing was a surprise when I received my bill. I asked how I needed to proceed with my insurance deductible, and my question was answered.
If you have an emergency and want a convenient alternative, I highly recommend this facility.

Dr. Laseter was so very compassionate and informative when I broke my shoulder. The waiting room has snacks and drinks which is great although you won’t be waiting very long at all. I always go to elite when I have a problem. Thanks so much for a great experience!

Do not come here. Seriously. I came in in February, and we still don’t know what our bill will be, but it’s likely to be at least $ 2000 above our deductible. And we have stellar insurance — like, $ 500 deductible for a family.
The front staffer did not disclose that Blue Cross was not in-​network until after I was treated. Insurance and the clinic are debating charges, and in the meantime, my bill was sent to collections after we were specifically told that they don’t send accounts to collections. (We specifically asked because the billing disputed have gone on for so long, and now I have a huge blot on my credit report.)
An ACTUAL emergency room would have been far cheaper.

These people are total crooks. Go to urgent care instead and save yourself a minimum of $ 1800.00

I am lucky in that I have a healthcare reimbursement account that is covering my 1808.00 balance. Now, I called the billing center to have them send a copy of my outstanding balance to my HRA so they could send them a check directly and three weeks later I recieved a letter from my HRA saying that they rejected it because they had gotten an invoice for the FULL amount of the bill as though they had never been paid! These people are CROOKS!!! Luckily, my HRA did not just cut them a check and knew that BCBS and myself had already given them money so they came to me so I was able to have them resend a copy of the statement WITH an EOB from BCBS. When I spoke to the «manager» she insisted that they did not do this, and when I kept saying «but you did» she said they would resubmit it, but would never come out and say what they had done to begin with. They gladly would have cleaned out my HRA account for 5000.00 when they have already been paid. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be aware, don’t let this screw up your life and end up owing a bunch of money!

Fast service, confident in doctor, nice staff, wifi, drinks and snacks
A night and day difference from the traditional emergency room experience

I went to an ER in a good hospital before. I had to wait 8hrs on an empty stomach from 6+pm-3am, at the end they found nothing wrong with me and gave me Tylenol and charged me a few hundred bucks pretty much for the Tylenol. The hospital bill came to $ 800+ and the Dr bill came to $ 400+ after that (yes I have BlueCross BlueShield insurance, granted it was Jan at that time, the start of the insurance year). I decided I would rather sleep at home with the pain than go to an ER in future.
This time, I went to Elite Care in The Colony because I started bleeding in my 3^rd trimester and it’s just 5min from where I stay. I didn’t look forward to going to an ER, knowing it will be long-​drawn. But I got into the nice looking place that has a cool lounge area and snack/​coffee bar at the side, and before I had a chance to decide which coffee to get, a lady came to get me to bring me in for vital signs testing and listening to the heartbeat of the baby. So the waiting time was about 5 minutes.
I then went to another room for ultrasound, and the lady was very detailed. She was looking at the ultrasound screen for like 30 min, she said she has to look at a lot of things (the ultrasound in the hospital was like, 5min).
Dr Thakkar was very caring and detailed, he was concerned about my bleeding and not just rattling off facts. Today, I decided to write this review because Dr Thakkar actually gave me a call. I didn’t expect to get a follow-​up call from the clinic, much less the Dr himself, to ask me if I was ok. Even my OB doesn’t call me herself, but ask her nurse to do it. Basically it’s extremely hard to talk to the Dr direct if you are not present at the clinic. Not sure if this is Elite Care’s SOP, but I think it’s very nice.
My husband asked the lady if we can have the ultrasound pics, she gave us a CD and said it’s at no extra charge.
The whole experience took less than 2hours, and since the clinic was located in a strip with lots of restaurants, I walked out and had lunch in 5min. It’s a lovely place that looks well-​equipped.
Of course, I am still apprehensive about the bill. I may follow up with it, but I don’t think ER is cheap, period.
Elite Care does state upfront that they are an ER clinic so they charge according to the ER rate. For everyone who reads this post, a nurse from my insurance told me to go to an Urgent Care clinic and not to go to the ER unless it is really an emergency.
So for people who need a Dr to check what is happening but don’t want to foot a huge bill, go to an Urgent Care clinic instead. I should have thought of going to an Urgent Care clinic to save on costs, but the name slipped my mind that morning.

I received EMERGENCY care, and QUICKLY, in my time of need. But they are NOT a preferred provider for ANY insurance carrier. Meaning everyone who goes gets a HUGE bill after it is processed through insurance.

Total ripoff. Wanted $ 500 to prescribe antibiotics
