Giving this place one star is generous. We stayed here during the covered bridge festival, after reading generally positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Upon arrival, the lobby receptionist insisted each of our rooms would cost $ 150+, even though we had booked at much cheaper rates, but we couldn’t prove it because they didn’t provide us a confirmation number when we booked. At this point, everything in the surrounding area was booked for the festival, so there were really no other options than to pay the price. The rooms on first glance looked okay, old but acceptable, until you looked closer. Our bed sheets and pillow cases were dirty, blood stained, and we found hair embedded in everything. We saw a bug crawling over the top blanket, so we pulled everything down to the mattress to make sure we didn’t have an infestation, and we discovered burn marks in the mattress. The room smelled off, as did the disgusting bathroom, which was unfinished and infested with bugs(centipedes among other things, yuck.) The carpeting outside the bathroom was also mysteriously soaked, likely by a broken pipe to the toilet, since neither of us used the shower. The doors were almost impossible to close, the noise and lights coming in from outside were terrible, so neither of us slept well at all. We woke up feeling itchy and unrested. This place is really a shithole. Stay far, far away. There are much nicer places(for cheaper, too!) in the area.

I checked in with my son and two dogs tonight around 5pm. My heart sank as I pulled up… I knew as soon as I saw it I was not going to feel very safe. When I entered the room is smelled so bad… like a smoking room and there was blood stains on the blankets… I called the office but the room phone did not work. There were nasty looking men on the second floor scoping me out… I demanded a full refund. Needless to say I am staying up the road for half as much and it is safe and clean. Do not go here unless you have shady intentions.

The price advertised is not what we paid when we stayed. Our total ended up being about $ 135. It was the worst motel I’ve ever been in. While I was searching for an outlet to plug my phone in, I discovered a bloody pillowcase tucked between the wall and the head if the bed. When the pillowcase was taken to the front desk they said that housekeepers sometimes use pillowcases to clean. This was a sad excuse for what was 100% blood. We were told they could not switch rooms because they were booked. We would have went to a different hotel but we went the weekend of covered bridge festival and all hotels were booked. Their solution to the bloody pillowcase was taking off the $ 10 charge that was added due to having a pet. The breakfast was minimal. The shower was disgusting and the bathroom had an odd smell. I will never be staying at this hotel or any of its affiliates every again.

Oh boy, do I agree with Melissa. Only I paid a bit more and I think the *cleaning* was even worse during my stay. I found dookie on the toilet seat and LOTS of short and curly hairs through out the room. FMRoom… I am writing this a little before check out so I may actually have more to review in the AM. NIGHTALL This place was the worst ever. People milling around out in the parking lot at all hours of the night, and the noise from the roadway made sleeping very tough. I was not well rested. I should have paid more somewhere else. The Travelodge is OLD and DIRTY. The internet was very spotty. I have had MUCH better web browsing experiences at the local Starbucks and what not than this place. The only up shot was the free breakfast and the price. Believe me I will pay more next time I am in Terre Haute.

So we just moved to Terre Haute. No kidding, like LASTNIGHT just. Being as the local rental housing situation is an effing travesty, we’ve had to huddle up in a motel to regroup and get our sh*t together to find somewhere acceptable to live long-term. Being that living in a motel cramps the moving budget, I went cheap. $ 35/night. Cheap indeed. That’s the good. Also good — king bed, good black-out curtains, and if you have an «inside» room, relatively quiet(let’s not discuss the electric guitarist who is apparently living below us currently). Free breakfast(cereal, milk, juice, and the like). Big TVs. Clean sheets. Honestly, not the worst thing if you just need a clean place to lay your head for the night. The bad. This part of town appears to be pretty ghetto. There are plenty of people for whom this is clearly a long-term living situation, which will make you feel pretty sh*tty about yourself if it’s not what you are accustomed to. The building is ancient. The rooms are *barely* clean — I think they WOULD be clean if they weren’t so OLD. The bathroom door sticks so you can’t open or close it without waking up the snorer in the room — it makes a terrible noise. Even the non-smoking rooms have a smoky-ish air to them. The place is just older than dirt. I generally worry for the safety of my car, but it so far has been okay. There is a pool, but it is full of dirty water(it’s too cold to swim anyway, I guess). I pray we find a living situation soon so we can GTFO of here. TOMORROW, TOMORROW, I LOVEYA, TOMORROW…
