History
Established in 2015.
Two nerds had a dream. A dream to open the best comic and games shop that ever was. A shop with the most interesting comics, the funnest of fun games and events, the coolest looking statues and toys, and the friendliest staffers to tie it all together. But things kept getting in the way. Timing. Finances. Locations. All that adult stuff that gets really annoying.
Then a little bird told them that a Tempe icon sadly had to close its doors, and when one door closes, another shop opens. Thus Critical Threat Comics was born out of the ashes of old, intent on building a thriving geek community for decades to come!
tl;dr: PCP had to close, and since we were friends of the owner, we got first dibs on moving into the newly vacant space. We eliminated a lot of the obstacles of opening a new shop, and the community of customers wouldn’t be homeless or abandoned. Win-win!

Jess + Jeremy Z.
Business Owner
Jess + Jeremy are the two owners of CTC. Jess loves Image comics and board games, and is a nonprofit fundraiser by day. Jeremy is a Marvel and collectible card game junkie and he has a Deadpool tattoo, because Deadpool. They have too many board games at home, so they brought some into the shop that you can play as demo copies. Come say hi!
