West Coast Flooring did an outstanding job installing natural hardwood flooring in our home. John followed through from the ordering process, making sure that the flooring was stored in a climate controlled environment prior to installation, everything that needed to be done to the cement sub-​floor prior to installation, to the completed installation.

THE COMPANY:
West Coast Flooring was the last of seven vendors that we contacted to bid on our 1890 square foot home to replace all tile and carpet with Luxury Vinyl Plank [LVP]. Our collection of bids ranged from $ 9,500 — $ 16,000. Not an inexpensive proposition, we did our due diligence and tried to compare apples and apples rather than apples and oranges but it was difficult since all flooring companies did not carry the same LVP. We settled on West Coast Flooring because they had the style in appearance that we desired. The material we chose was top of the line for the manufacturer we chose. John the owner of West Coast offered suitable substitutes that would have provided a $ 2000 reduction in our total dollar outlay for what we had chosen for our floors. We choose the BEST quality [commercial grade] rather that the BETTER quality [residential grade] of flooring. John and Ken Thompson worked with us to also secure area rugs to augment the planks chosen. We were very pleased with the company’s interest in making our purchase seamless and supportive.
THE INSTALLERS:
The right installers may be the most important element in our quest to replace the flooring in our home. What was to be a 5 day installation turned out to be a 7 day affair. Russ and Alex were the installers sent to demolish the tile, remove the carpets and install our new flooring. Wow, we could not have been more pleased with their timeliness and attention to detail as we moved through the process. We remained in our home while the process went on. DUST … yes lots of it … But removing tile requires the creation of dust and Russ made us acutely aware of what was to occur. My greatest concern was for the base boards that I had recently replaced throughout my home. Removing tile can cause havoc and damage base board. Alex was an artist at preserving my hard work. Russ and Alex created another beautiful result with their placement of base cove molding against my newly installed base boards. Yes in 7 days ya tend to bond with the guys performing the task of making your home a new home. I have to admit however that my wife and I are happy to have our home back, just the two of us.
After the job was done we all departed The Company, The Installers, my wife and I in good spirits for a job well done. It has truly changed the appearance of our home.

LOVE the new wood look vinyl plank flooring! Looks like a wood product but can be placed in kitchen and bathrooms. SO easy to care for and feels great on bare feet. From the first moment we walked in to the store and spoke with Rob we felt comfortable and were not pressured! We were able to get exactly what we wanted at the price we wanted to pay. Not only were Russ and Alex (installation crew) meticulous and thorough, they also showed up when they said they would, cleaned up afterwards and finished the install a little earlier than they originally thought. Great people. No surprises and no add ons. We paid what we were quoted. I only wish I had gone to West Coast sooner. Now I’m waiting for the new carpet install.

We just had our maple wood floors put in. Rob Morley was our salesperson and he gave the best suggestions and was very patient and helpful and with his suggestions saved us money. I knew the color we wanted and went with his suggestions on the wood floor style and the baseboard style and height and it turned out perfectly. It looks like it was a model home. The installers were Robert and his crew and they were exactly on time every morning waiting to ring the doorbell at the exact time they said they would be there. They were all very hard workers and could not have done a better job! I will post pictures soon :-)

we just installed hardwood flooring, and carpet by West coast flooring. Rob was very knowledgeable, gave us good advice. Hardwood team worked very hard (sorry I couldn’t remember names) until late evening non-​stop. I have round staircase landing, and numerous hall way with angled corners. Final product was perfect and beautiful. After finishing job, they cleaned very nicely. Hard working people. Also carpet layers worked hard too. We recently purchased tile for our home through the West Coast Flooring Center. This store has a great selection to choose from, and is very reasonable. The installation crew was really amazing as well. The guys were very courteous, and respectful. They were extremely meticulous, and careful while installing the tile. They took their time, and went to great lengths to make sure that the finished product was perfect. I can’t believe how great our flooring looks! John, the owner, is a very decent, and honest man. He was very caring, and answered any questions/​concerns that we had. I can’t say enough about this wonderful company. We most definitely would buy flooring from the West Coast Flooring Center again!

We were referred to West Coast Flooring by our lender because we just purchased a home, we only had to get our master bedroom recarpeted and she told us they have remnants. My husband and I went in to look at their selection and saw what a vast selection they have! When we told the salesman (Charles) what we were looking for, he pointed out an exact match to what we picked out at Home Depot and when he ran the numbers, we ended up saving over $ 300 going with West Coast Flooring that is WITH a premium pad and installation! The installers were professional, fast and left the area clean and perfect. We are very happy customers and will refer all of our friends and family. Terrible customer service. I had plank flooring installed by West Coast Flooring and I was happy with the flooring even though they have been back twice to fix some minor installation issues. This time I was in search of new carpet. We went to the showroom and I was quoted a price of 3.50 sq/​ft which included labor, material and padding. Christine came out to measure and I was given a quote with no price breakdown, just a total cost that did not show how they arrived at the total. When I asked for the price breakdown, I found out they were charging 3.56 sq/​ft and padding was not included. Mind you we were about to spend 6700.00 on new carpet. When I asked why the price was different than what I was quoted in the showroom, Christine told me that this was the price and I was already getting a good deal. I again asked why I was quoted something different and I got the same response. No apology for quoting a wrong price, no accountability and then she tried to blame me saying I picked a different color that was more expensive. The samples and colors came from the same display she quoted at 3.50 sq/​ft. Bottom line, I don’t write reviews but this whole experience was so terribly wrong. She even called me back and offered to give me the same color in a different carpet at 3.50 sq/​ft but she had originally told us that carpet was 3.00 sq/​ft. So let me get this straight, you are going to do me a favor by charging me 3.50 sq/​ft on carpet that is really 3.00 sq/​ft? The funny thing is had this entire situation been handled differently with good customer service and a simple apology for making a pricing mistake, I would have accepted the bid. I will NEVER do business here again.

We went with West Coast because they were highly referred by our real estate agent, and quite frankly we didn’t know who else to use considering we were new to the area and did not know much. We dealt with Rob who was also referred to us by our real estate agent. We were purchasing a new home (KB Home) and they had quite a few options in regards to flooring, but they only had options from one flooring company (Shaw). We shopped around a few other spots just to see what other options in terms of styles they had for carpet and laminate, but there was one style West Cost had that others could not offer. After we were initially quoted a higher price, we had went back to KB to compare «Apples to Apples». In the end, we advised Rob that we would like to go with West Coast; however the pricing that the builders had to offer for similar options were much more affordable. Rob worked with us and in the end we compromised on carpeting (upstairs), tile (master bathroom) and wood laminate (all of downstairs). We were required to pay 33% up front, which wasn’t a problem as we advised Rob we would be getting married soon and on our honeymoon around the time the house was closing Escrow. We thought it would be amazing to have West Coast come into our home while it was empty and before we moved in to make things easier for everyone as we would return from our Honeymoon and move into our new home with new flooring! This is where it turned quite bad…
Upon receiving our keys the day after we were married and the day we were leaving for our honeymoon, we had dropped them off in a labeled envelope so the installers could enter our home and complete the job. There was no discussion of «contractors» during our near 5 visits and countless phone calls regarding the job. The part that was the most frustrating regarding my interactions with Rob (in person and on the phone) was that it seemed he didn’t remember us EVERY time we had come in and spoken to him. In addition, I came to find out that there was a contractor for each separate job (3 in total — carpet, wood laminate and tile).
Upon our return, Rob advised us that someone (They still don’t know how) LOST the key to our new home! Although he advised they were willing to pay a locksmith to change the locks, it didn’t seem like a big deal that there was a key to our home floating around in someone’s hands. We received a phone call on a Weds from a man representing JR flooring called to re-​schedule. I received another phone call on the evening before our scheduled day from a woman representing JR flooring stating that they could not make it the next day because they were going out of town for the holiday weekend. I advised her that there must be someone who could help. I shared my concerns stating that it was not fair she wanted to reschedule on me last minute considering the circumstances I had gone through and our hectic work schedule. She started to get very rude as she says «Well, we are NOT coming tomorrow, we will call you next week» and HUNG UP. I immediately called West Coast and advised to the sales manager (Kenny) what happened. He stated to me «I’ve dealt with this woman at JR flooring for nearly 15 years and never had a complaint». After looking at reviews here as well as JR Flooring, I find that hard to believe. In the end, I advised Kenny that due to their un-​professionalism and attitude, I did not want them in my house. They agreed and sent a «handy man» who took care of me during my originally scheduled time. I thought to myself «Finally, we’re done!»… Not quite…
During initial inspections after moving in, we realized our sink needed to be re-​caulked due to separation from the wall in some areas. As the plumber arrived to our home and came to repair the sink, he advised the wood laminate contractors lifted the sink incorrectly to install the flooring under the sink pedestal, thus causing separation from the wall and two pipes behind the sink that were currently leaking. If it wasn’t for a family member randomly visiting and pointing out the sink, we could have been left with a MUCH larger issue. The worst part about the situation was when I called Rob and he denied that the wood laminate contractors lifted the sink stating that «This isn’t something that they do», informing me that they normally cut AROUND the sink. Luckily KB Homes and their contracted plumber fixed it under «warranty» rather than attempting to charge us for someone else’s mistake. After a day Rob called me back and validated my claim, stating the contractors DID in fact raise the sink. No apologies, nothing… All he said was «Ok, are we good now?» which I translated as «Ok, now come in and pay us your balance so we can close this out.»
In the end, would I use West Coast Flooring again? Most likely not. The products and end result seems fine now, but the headache and frustration in between was not worth it one bit.

We were referred to West Coast by a friend who had a great experience with installation of new floors. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience. I give all props to Rob who was very attentive and prompt in helping us choose and finalize our flooring decision. He promised that I would be impressed with the flooring contractors chosen for job. The contractors chosen to install our laminate floors were prompt and called ahead to get started early. They started prepping our floors on Friday afternoon and were finished with entire project (approx 2,400 sq ft) by Saturday evening. I was impressed, however I was not impressed by the condition they left walls, 3 bathrooms and kitchen counter space. The lead person on the job was Jim and his crew were young guys. While they did an outstanding job on the floors, they failed to realize the presentation of the completion of the floors was overshadowed by the nasty mess they made to our vacant home, freshly painted walls, sinks, toilets and counter space.
The second contractor was JR Flooring and he was the biggest dissapointment. He joined the first contractor at our home on Friday afternoon. He said he preferred not to work alongside Jim and his crew and asked if he could come on Monday to install the tile for 2 bathrooms. I figured it was a small job and Rob had promised all the work would be completed by Monday evening, so no problem! I took JR’s word at value, however he did not finish the job until Wednesday morning — THE DAY OF OUR MOVE!!! My assumption is that JR deemed the job small and therefore even though we was contracted to meet a deadline — we were not the PRIORITY!!! We heard EXCUSES after EXCUSES about the delay, and promises that it would get done and that just did not happen to our PAID expectatons. We contacted West Coast flooring to get assistance with this and all they could do is call the contractors to ask for status. I guess not much to do since we had no other options. It is not a good feeling to be this stressed and feel at the mercy of these people who simply viewed us as another job!!!
The compensation received for the condition the walls and baseboards were left was $ 200 to hire painter to repaint the new home. There were no follow-​up calls from West Coast EXCEPT to collect final payment. The 2 stars recieved is one for Rob for services described above and for the completion of the laminate floors. The project was beyond stressful and unnecessary. I could not even imagine going through this as a remodel project.
Best advise I can give you is to get full details on the contractors chosen by West Coast to install your flooring.

We had our hardwood floor installed yesterday. We are absolutely delighted. The crew was excellent and worked 12 hours straight without any complaint to get the job done. They went the extra mile to help us move furniture due to some physical issues that we have. I had already measured the square footage and then got two estimates. The first guy whined about a curved joint with tile. Ken from West Coast had no problem with anything and gave us a quote on the spot that was consistent with my estimate. The curved joint was done perfectly as were all the other interfaces with tile. We will use them again next year to install wood flooring in our master bedroom.

Just had my beautiful wood floors put in and couldn’t be happier! Christine was a big help for starters, very knowledgable as she’s been in this field for many years. She met us at home for measurements & brought samples. Jim’s team that installed the floors; Brian, Justin, Marco, Danny & Phil were all so nice and polite and worked their butts off! They know their stuff and did an excellent job with the floors… and moved lots of heavy furniture as well. Thank you ALL SO MUCH!

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Not only do they miss your estimation appointment but they act as if they’re too busy to help you and their follow-​through is nonexistent. Stay away from Christine and West Coast flooring you will be glad you did

We had a great experience with Rob at West Coast Flooring. He worked with us early in our process of building a homeand helped us select flooring throughout our home. Our flooring consisted for wood floor throughout the home except for two rooms of carpet and tile in all the wet areas. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the installation process. They finished early and the workmanship from all the trades was awesome. Our flooring looks great and I would gladly recommend them to others.

My Floors are AMAZING!!! I dealt with John C. he help us with colors to match the existing granite in our newly purchase home. We replaced all the floor in the whole house and it is beautiful. Everything from demo to completion was A++++!

Great experience from the start to the completed job. Ken, the Manager was very helpful and patient while I choose my flooring for my home. I told him what my budget was and he guided me to chose a quality product with a good warranty within my price range. The labor rates were very competitive and reasonable.
The installers that came to my home were all professional and cleaned up afterwards. They were very helpful in moving any heavy furniture and even helped me with getting my platform bed back together. I would highly recommend this establishment for your flooring needs.

Honestly their product and prices are ok. Nothing to write home about but not bad. So why the 1 star? Well, if a day at the DMV sounds like a good shopping experience to you, then maybe you came to the right place. Christine was my sales agent. like mentioned, she would be better off working at the DMV… she has that customer service you just want to write about. She has no product knowledge and no follow through. I ended up having to complain to her manager, Ken. Now I do not like to complain but after several days she failed to respond to my request for an invoice and the contractors had already started on my home so I needed to purchase my flooring.
Ken, the manager, is honestly no better. They were always too busy to help and even too busy to help me make my purchase. Busy with other customers they said. Well. I was trying to purchase $ 3,000 worth of materials is that not a customer worth your time? When they finally came around to sending me my invoice, I cringed at the thought of purchasing from such an incompetent company as I like to support small businesses that care about their customers and this small business could care less about anyone they service. My problem was I was out of time and since my contractor recommended I purchase from them and with little free time to try to find somewhere better, I was out of choices. In the end, only their assistant, Kait, was nice enough to help me so I had to rely on her for communication as I refused to talk to either Christine or Ken further. My floors are beautify but it came at the price of much unneeded stress caused by West Coast Flooring. If you can, try to find a better company that actually cares about their customers instead of this joke of a company. Will never use them again even if their prices were ¹⁄₁₀ of their competitors.

If you have a deadline they will promise whatever you want but… I HAD TO CALL THEM THE EVENING OF THE DAY THEY PROMISED DELIVERY OF MY WOOD SO THEY COULD TELL ME «NOT ENOUGH ROOM ON THE TRUCK TODAY SORRY YOU WON’T SEE IT TILL NEXT TUESDAY. (Rudely)YOU CAN COME GET YOUR MONEY BACK IF YOU WANT» did I mention Tuesday was two days before thanksgiving. They are soo nice when you are in the store and will promise whatever you want but have 0 customer service. I was recommended by a friend now I will tell all my friends, Co workers, family to stay away. All they had to do was follow up and be honest that they couldn’t meet the deadline and I would have rescheduled my vacation days! I took off to install this. But now I will never be back including the house full of carpet I was going to purchase. REMEMBER HAPPY CUSTOMERS TELL A FEW PEOPLE, UNHAPPY CUSTOMER’S TELL A LOT MORE!
