Its not just a Burger joint although they have great burgers. The chicken fried steak is great. Would not consider it kid friendly at night because after all its a bar i promise you will be happy with what you order the only thing i do not like is the fried pickles because the pickles are sliced at like ½ inch thick slice. The kitchen closes at like midnight cool because most of the time i’m coming into town around 11:30 so i always call in my orders

Good service and good food! Quick and simple, this is a nice place to grab a quick burger or hang out for some music. Comfortable booths and nice tables make it a relaxing stop!

At one time this was an awesome place with good food. But now it’s terrible, don’t eat there. I think a 5 year old works in the kitchen. The food is slapped together and usually wrong. Waste of your time to stop at this place.

Great Food! Was pleasantly surprised to find this place! The food was actually pretty darn good for the money! I had a bacon cheeseburger, only flaw not enough bacon but which place ever puts enough bacon on a burger? My fiancé got the chicken fried steak and was probably the biggest I have seen in a restaurant! The let me say was REALLY good!!! I should of gotten that instead of the burger! haha. I would give it 5 stars but the establishment needs some updating… the stale smoke smell is pretty gross and needs a soda dispenser.

I tried the chicken fried steak and fried catfish and was impressed. Kind of a smoky little beer joint, but great food and cheap beer.

Randy’s is a place where the locals gather for a good burger, chicken fried steak and a cold beer. Located in an old garage, the atmosphere is what one would expect in small town Texas. The men’s bathroom has an open window facing the parking lot. The women’ bathroom has cardboard covering the mirror. There’s karaōke on Thursdays and Saturdays courtesy of JT Entertainment and Sheryl(not me) is the best waitress around. Drive slowly over the chug holes when it rains and stop in for a good time. Did I mention how good their fried catfish is?

Really can’t say enough nice things about this place. It’s becoming a Sunday tradition. The burgers are GREAT. The beer is COLD. Even better — when we walk through the door we are greeted with that pitcher of beer and 100% awesome service.

After a visit to Louie Mueller for some BBQ, and a few minutes of walking around downtown Taylor, we stopped at Randy’s for a few pitchers of beer. There are three pool tables in back, and a few picnic tables out front for enjoying the outdoor air in the shade. Wood paneling throughout and corrugated steel makes it feel like a cross between a basement bar and an outlaw refuge. Throw in the great beer selection and top it off with taxidermy lynx, snakes, and deer, and you’ve got yourself one heck of a local watering hole. Careful if you like your privacy though, as they don’t have a lock on the front men’s bathroom door.

Randy’s is much more than a cool beer joint that serves great burgers. It’s also a full restaurant that offers live music, pool and trivia. The staff is friendly and attentive and for the price, you get monstrous portions. My favorite part of the place hang on the walls: loads of mounted trophies. Worth the trip out the Taylor. Here are excerpts from an article I wrote: As the icehouse grew under the original owner, so did the number of decorations on the walls. Trophy bucks, stuffed rattlesnakes, and mounted bass and raccoons crowded the beer signs on every wall. «Back then, a lot of locals would hang their trophies at Randy’s because if they hung them at home, they’d never see them,» owner Chet Bigon said. «What you see today is not even a quarter of what it had before.» Over the past few years, Bigon has changed the floor plan, added entertainment and updated the menu. Popular appetizers include jalapeño poppers($ 5.95): six fried pepper spears filled with cream or cheddar cheese and served with a tangy dipping sauce. Others prefer fried pickles($ 4.95), which are deep-fried thick slices of spiced sour pickles covered with panko breadcrumbs and served with ranch dressing. The chicken tenders($ 8.25), a heap of five hand-battered chicken strips, are served with fries or a baked potato. Top sirloin($ 10.95), served with salad and a choice of fries or a baked potato, is a tender, hearty meal. The the full article here:

I tried this place out on a Saturday afternoon. The waitress/bartender was very friendly and the service was fast, but I was one of only a few people in the establishment at the time. I had a cheeseburger and fries, and the price was really good for the amount of food that you get. I know they have beer and wine, but I am not sure about other liquor. I’m sure I will be back, they told me that their chicken fried steak is huge and really good, so I will try that and let you know how it is. They also told me that Monday evening is half price burgers
