Came to LyteSpeed on the strong recommendation of a colleague and I couldn’t be more grateful for that recommendation. I took the classroom instruction for Life & Health and Property & Casualty. The course material is presented thoroughly and the accompanying books reinforce all concept and key terms. Mick and Mary make the material interesting and relatable and the supplemental materials available through the web portal provide more review videos and practice exams than required to pass the exam the first time.
LyteSpeed will give you al the tools you need to pass your test (s) and then some. The rest is up to you.

Wow. Wowwy wow wow. First of all, my standards when I write reviews are very high (especially if you read some of my other ratings) so I do not give 5 stars lightly. I’ll make this very brief.
I got my Accident & Health and Life licenses from another company but they didn’t do P&C; my friend referred me to LyteSpeed Learning. Folks, I hate studying. I grasp materials and concepts quickly and I hate studying but for P&C, you have to study. Even I had to study for this.
I passed my exam; that’s not the issue. If you print out the P&C written material, it’s 264 pages. I don’t have time for all that. If you watch the videos, and this is important; and watch the study prep exam videos and do the practice exam, you WILL pass. Best $ 100 I ever spent, and definitely the best insurance exam preparation you’ll ever study. They will help you understand the arcane legalistic insurance jargon in real life examples you can that make sense. The other company I used for my Life & Health (while cheaper) won’t help you do that, and that won’t help you in this industry. You can’t explain something to people for their policies if you don’t understand it yourself. Oh and here’s something I have to mention: virtually all the insurance questions in the exam prep videos and practice exam are on the actual test! Granted there are some 12 different tests that the state uses, but it’s all the same concepts presented the same way. That’s all I have to say. Well done, LyteSpeed Learning.

Thank you LyteSpeed! I passed my P&C license exam the first time! I was referred by a friend who passed their Life Insurance exam the first time. I am so glad that I did my hours in the classroom versus online. I noticed in the exam prep course that the students who had taken the course in the classroom were doing much better than those who had taken it online. The teachers give real life examples which were extremely helpful in absorbing the information. Mick & Mary are amazing teachers. They are both very patient and willing to answer any and all questions I had– and always with a little humor! This is a family run business and you can tell by their passion– they genuinely want to help and care that you pass your exam the first time.

I took the course for a license recently through this company. I’d heard of them before, but didn’t have direct experience until now. It was nice and easy to get into the class, they never seem to have a full class, so waiting until the day of class to register is not a problem. This should have been a sign-​lol.
The building is run down and the classroom is just the same. Cold, classroom, in a not so great area or building.
I’d hoped the teaching would have been good, but it really wasn’t. The teachers were «all over the place», there wasn’t any form or consistency to the program, except that the teachers seemed to only speak about their own personal experiences and tell stories. They tell you a lot about different things that happened to them or other agents they know, but we weren’t there for that now, were we?
Many times the teachers contradicted their own teachings saying one thing, then in the next 10 minutes or the very next day, saying just the opposite.
The only benefit out of this course was that I completed it in 4 days. The 1 day crash review course is a complete waste of time.
At the end of the course, I felt like I knew absolutely nothing, couldn’t make heads or tails of the materials and was certainly not prepared to take the test at all!
I ended up taking another course online which was amazing!
Bottom line-​this course isn’t worth it! It was a complete waste of my money and time and was not helpful at all. The teachers they used didn’t have current information and everything was outdated… EVERYTHING!
You can do better elsewhere!

I just used Lytespeed for a licensing exam. I was referred by a colleague and didn’t look around online for other virtual learning courses, I just jumped right in.
My background is very academic. I’m just giving background here to illustrate a point, not bragging. I’m a Magna cum Laude, 4 year, east coast college grad… I know what I’m doing when it comes to studying. That was not the problem here.
I dove into the materials online, my book didn’t arrive for more than a week, (due to issues with the billing/​shipping address part of their site not matching up), and I put a couple good weeks in really going all out with the info I was given that was «on the test.»
I was very confident going into the exam, since I had all of Lytespeed’s performance objectives down cold. Little to my dismay, I was surprised to see that about 75% of the material I was told was heavy on the exam NEVER showed up!
I am also a former highly accredited educator. Everyone understands that not all info is on every exam, but there was a lot of leeway here…
*****I don’t think if I hadn’t had other life, career, and educational experience prior to going through the Lytespeed curriculum that I would have passed the first time. ******
I used all my past experience to answer the questions I came across that didn’t match my Lytespeed training info.
Lesson learned, for sure. I give it 3 stars only because I passed the first time, but really the credit goes to me more than to them.
I agree with another Unilocaler about the material being outdated. Literally that night, right after I took the exam, I received an email from them with and «update» if info that would be in my exam. 75% of that was inaccurate as well– only one part they mentioned was actually on the test!
Meh.
I don’t like to slam anyone on Unilocal,but I feel it’s my duty to be 100% honest in any review. Educational materials are a springboard, what you make them. I live by that little tenet. I just think in this day and age, there must be closer– more spot on representations for this particular exam out there.
You can do better! Shop around!
TIP: I took my exam at PSI in Burbank.
PSI:
Plenty of free parking.
Good test site, nazi-​like test proctors. (You can’t even chew gum, they will ask. I even had to remove a bracelet I was wearing.)
They will give you a locker for your papers, etc. Don’t bring your phone or anything, they prohibit it.
If you must use the restroom during your 3 hour test, the clock stays running. Be gone more than 5 minutes and they will shut you down and you’ll have to retake! (And pay again!!). Go first.
Get your fingerprints done there if you need to, electronic and $ 89 on the spot.
They will take your photo, and it will be on your exam certificate, the official one, so
If you care… enough said. (I was unaware and that pic will probably show up on my license from the state! Yikes.)
You will find out if you passed right after.
Don’t forget your license or you’ll get nowhere.
They do take credit cards for the fingerprinting.
They will give you a pencil, a pair of disposable earplugs, and 1 sheet of scratch paper. They will require you turn in that paper afterwards to get your driver’s license back… they shred it.

I have been using Lyte Speed Learning since 2011. The classroom learning was Fun and Professional and I passed the Life/​Health exam the first time. All of my continued education has been done online and through their Website. I have to say, I love the New Website; it’s easy to navigate, very well thought out and has never crashed as I was studying or taking an Exam.
If you are a New Agent starting out, you will have plenty of questions (I sure did).
The staff is really friendly, supportive and will bend over backwards to help you.

Wow! Best customer service ever. I had a problem with my log-​in details, I was trying to login to the website on Sunday Night at around 9pm. I send an e-​mail to my account administrator and I get an immediate response from Nancy! On a Sunday night! She reset my account and she even reset my course progress, so that I could start working on getting some extra credits for my continuing online education. One word: Amazing! Thank you so much!

if i could’ve given 0 or negative star i would’ve… their class materials seem outdated, the online prep tests are not comprehensive, if you google on the sample tests from other source, when you look at their exam questions you will be like «i have NEVER seen this topic in online class»… MULTIPLE times…

Good site to study on with knowledgeable staff. Ckvered a lot of sections and even gave pointers. The video sections were awesome and felt like a classroom.

As a former student at LyteSpeed learning I could say the knowledge, Service, and attention I got was beyond excellent. The instructors are great with answering questions and making sure you understand all you need to know. The Service is great, they literally hold your hand the whole way, even after you pass your life and health/​Property and casualty courses they will tell you what CE classes you need to take eah year. They’ve been more helpful than the DOI.
As far as the online goes, I did my p/​c online and if I did have any issues they were there to help and acknowldged any concern I had.
BTW– I PASSED MY LIFE AND HEALTH AND FIRE AND CASUALTY LICENSING THE FIRST TRY.
My friend did not pass the first time attending another school. Thereafter, went to lytespeed and they help her pass the next try.
For the bad reviews you’ve read— Definitely ignore them. BEST SCHOOL, BEST SERVICE.

I went to Lytespeed to gain as much knowledge as possible for my P + C licensing and they did not fail me. Every instructor we were given was different and unique in their teaching style and this made each day exciting, and for someone who does not prefer a classroom setting, this made my time there much more enjoyable. We went over everything for the test in a five day span, and by the following week I was set up to take my test. They also offer an online practice test and I highly recommend doing this as many of the questions will be on the actual test. I will be heading back here for my Life and Health classes soon and just wanted to say a big Thank You to everyone at Lytespeed for all your help.

LyteSpeed Learning is absolutely AMAZING!!! I went through the school last month I took the Life Agent insurance test on 11÷06÷12 and passed on the first try (I had no previous insurance sales experience)! The owners Mr. & Mrs. Strickler, instructors, and staff are extremely proficient, competent, and expert in what they do and teach. They truly care for their students and that includes online students as well. If the student listens to them, studies, and has a good outlook they’ll pass the test. I DID!
So, to all the naysayers, I’m sorry that you feel your experience was less than positive, but perhaps you came to the table with the wrong attitude. «Attitude determines altitude». Way to go LyteSpeed! You ROCK!

I am very satisfied.

I decided to change careers late in life and was directed to LyteSpeed by a group I was interested in joining. I went with the face to face instruction at the LyteSpeed facility in Encino. I found the instructors to be very knowledgeable. There were three different instructors giving their point of view and experiences of having in the business of 25 years of more each. They used humor, facts, real test questions to instruct us as best as they could. It worked for me because I passed the test on the first try. I would recommend going to the facility to learn.

LyteSpeed is Great! Cutting edge classes that have helped myself and staff get through the test passing it 1^st time. The Staff is very helpful and they really take the time to help people through their licensing and ce process!

Wow. Lytespeed is horrible! Since the end of December 2011 until now beginning of February, Lytespeed’s online website really sucks. Their website/​server has gone down 2 times when I wanted to study online, but this is just soooo inconvenient!
In addition to their horrible failing website, their customer service is rather unprofessional as well. I’ve called them a few times, & they don’t speak eloquently. One time I called in to ask whether they have any guarantee about their online courses that «if you take our course, we will guarantee that you pass on the first time around» (I think it’s
that guarantees that or they’ll pay for you to take the test the 2^nd time around). So when I asked the lady that question, she said, «No, we can’t guarantee that. Can I guarantee that you won’t have a migraine on the day of your test? No.» Wow. She has the audacity to sound so hostile and rude to a customer like that? WTH. I really don’t recommend this site nor their services to anyone! Their customer service is very poor.

I completely agree with the first review, not only it looks unprofessional with grammar, spelling, punctuation mistakes, the glossary questions are confusing due to these mistakes and sometimes don’t relate to the material given. The glossary questions include answers to the in the question itself in the 12hr Ethics course (wonder what is the purpose of glossary?!!) When I send follow up questions on things, no one ever bothered to respond. It felt like the course was intended to send you to their class and pay more!!! Once I completed the course and print out the certificate I was no longer able to go back to that course to review the material. After I called the office of this company I was told I will not have that option. Not sure about you, but I feel ripped off paying for 90 days access to the course and not having it after 7 days since I completed it! And to make sure no one goes around their system they do not let you take 2 courses at the same time (you have to complete first to have access to second one, at the same time losing option to review material of the first course.) In other words I am super unhappy about the service. I will make sure to notify the agency that gave me the referral not to recommend Lytespeed to any of their future agents.
