Valley Oak Preschool and Nursery

My son has been attending Valley Oak Preschool for about 2 weeks now and I am very happy with my decision to enroll him here.
I was suddenly dropped from my previous son’s daycare out of nowhere with no advanced notice or warning. Needless to say, I was extremely upset with that other daycare and I still am. (If you’d like to know what daycare I am referring to, please private message me and I will tell you. I’ve already given them a bad review for their completely unprofessional treatment of my family.)
As a result of the other daycare kicking us to the curb, I had to figure out a new place to enroll him ASAP as I work full time and needed to get coverage for him quickly.
I had mornings covered as he goes to LAUSD PAL (special needs preschool) in the mornings but I needed afternoon care for him.
I called Valley Oak Preschool and I explained my unique situation and the owner Miranda was very understanding and thankfully she had an opening.
I met and spoke with the owner Miranda, Lori, Jade and Erica and they are all warm, nurturing people and I can tell they have a passion for caring for children.
The facility is modern, clean, and well-​maintained with easily accessible toys and play areas indoors and outdoors. I also love that the class sizes are small so that each child gets lots of attention and care. I’ve noticed that small teacher to child ratios are very important, especially for a child like mine that has high needs and is extremely spirited.
My son loves it at Valley Oak Preschool and I love that he loves it because it shows he is happy and adjusting well.
The road has been rough for our family recently, but thankfully Valley Oak Preschool has helped us get back on track and I am forever grateful.
I would highly recommend Valley Oak Preschool to anyone that is looking for a loving, caring, and clean environment where their child can learn, grow and thrive.

We are so lucky that we found Valley Oak for our 3 year old son! Sadly, we moved out of state and had to leave, but this preschool is amazing! Our kiddo loved Ms. Lori and was always happy to go. He learned so much and also had fun doing it. The biggest perk of this preschool, besides the home environment, was that Lori is also a behaviorist. Her advice was invaluable. I only wish this school was in North Carolina. We miss it and so does our son. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

My husband and I were so excited when we found Valley Oak and couldn’t wait for our son to start. We had been given a start date by the owner/​operator Miranda several months in advance, sent in our deposit, and were set, or so we thought. Then just a month before our son was due to start, we got an email from Miranda telling us that as it turns out, she wouldn’t have a place for our son and to look for the refund of our deposit in the mail! Now we are scrambling to find a daycare. Had we known the spot wasn’t secure, we would have kept looking over the past few months but now we are in a panic to find something with little time. There are no words to describe how disappointed we are.

Our daughter just finished a year at Valley Oak and I cannot say enough positive things about it! We were looking for a preschool that would be warm and nurturing, but would also provide academic support. This school is close to my work, so location was perfect for us! Once I walked in, saw the learning environments (both indoor and outdoor), and met the teachers, I knew this would be a great fit for us! I love the small, intimate setting and know that our daughter learned just as much if not more than she would have at a larger school. She loves her teachers and the friends she has made! She is so excited to go each morning and doesn’t want to leave when I pick her up. Also, she has comes home with beautiful projects that show what she is learning. Valley Oak provided a great first year of school for her.

We have been a Valley Oak family for almost a year now. I have a three year old and a 19 month old who attend. My children started off with an amazing nanny, but I wanted my son to start interacting with other kids his age and Valley Oak was a great transition. It was so welcoming that I decided to send my daughter there too. I have been very happy and I’m pretty picky since I am an educator myself. I have seen my son and daughter grow so much socially and academically. My son comes home and talks about what he’s learned. My son’s teacher Ms. Lori is fabulous. She is warm and caring and someone you feel like you’ve known forever. My son loves seeing her every morning. Ms. Erica is my daughter’s teacher and again she is caring and kind. My daughter, who is very attached to me, has no problem going to her in the morning. Whenever I come to pick the kids up they don’t want to leave, which shows how much they love it. The kids are always doing an activity (sorting, art, etc.) Mrs. Miranda is the director and also works with the kids. I feel very comfortable leaving my children with her and know my kids are happy and safe. She is someone who I go to and ask questions on how to deal with a situation or is this normal etc. Something that is important to me is the families and other kids who attend a school and this group of parents are wonderful. I’ve become friends with these families and have playdates. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this school. I’m so blessed to have found a place that while we are working my husband and I know that the kids are learning, having fun, and with people who genuinely care about them and their well-​being. I highly recommend this place and their stellar staff.

Our family can not speak highly enough of Valley Oak Preschool. Our 3.5 yr old daughter has been attending for almost 7 months and in that time has just blossomed. After finding out we were pregnant with twins we knew it was time to transition our oldest into preschool. She had always been home with me so we wanted to find something that would be an easy transition for her. Valley Oak offered exactly what we were looking for. It was an Intimate learning environment that felt like home. My daughter was instantly comfortable with Miss Lori, Miss Erica and the Director, Miss Miranda. The staff are all amazing and come from strong backgrounds in childhood development and education. Their Reggio Emilia approach to education fits with my child’s needs and wants and she loves all the fun art projects and experimental play activities. We couldn’t be happier with finding this little gem in the Valley. My daughter as well as my husband and I have found a wonderful and supportive community of wonderful kids and parents through Valley Oak.

This school was the right start for our 22 month old to transition to a daycare facility. Erica is a gem and Laurie is great. Thank you, Valley Oak.
