Custom Cycles is a Full Service bike (bicycle) shop in Tarzana, California. We offer a full line of street and mountain bikes, everyday lower end commuter, cruiser bikes as well as high end and carbon fiber bicycles.

Our full service bike shop is stocked with a full line biking accessories and apparel.

We also offer a full line of Scott, Cannondale and Giant brand bicycles.

We offer a variety of services for you in our shop including a standard and a pro tune up. We also will fix flats and broken spokes. A short list of brake services include brake cable replacement, brake housing replacement and brake adjustments.

History

Established in 2006.

It all started 30 years ago when Ray got a hold of his first BMX bike. Over the years he has occasionally put it down to toy with things that go a little faster. After all he grew up down the street from the Nurburgring race track near Cologne, Germany. But the one constant in Ray’s life has been his passion for cycling.

When it comes to bikes about the only thing Ray hasn’t done is ride in the Tour De France ! He has been a racer, a distributor, a craftsman, and a shop owner. Here he is, in the US, to do it all over again. If you’ve ever seen a guy flying down Reseda Blvd. doing a wheelie, then you’ve seen Ray.

Would definitely recommend!
What an awesome first impression: My girlfriend and I parked her truck in the street in front of the shop and Ray comes out to greet us and help out before I could take the bike from the truck.
Her bike had been sitting for years and we took it to Ray based on the other reviews from Unilocal.Two inner tubes, a chain, and some TLC from Ray was all we needed to get her bike up and going again. Since we are new to the area, Ray gave some great info on where to ride and some various other useful tips. This will definitely be our local bike shop.

I was referred to Ray at Custom Cycles through a good friend, And i am glad i did. Ray is very knowledgeable and helpful… few weeks back He fixed a drivetrain issue i had on my mountain bike on the spot for extremely fiar rate. And today i got my first Scott Carbon road bike from him. the best deal in town!
I wish i knew him before getting my MTB.

Just had an awesome experience having a flat stroller tire repaired! Pulled up in back of the shop with my baby in tow and when the gentlemen working there noticed I had a kiddo with me, he insisted I just wait in the car for a minute while he fixes it. Every mom running errands with a baby knows anything you can do drive thru style is fantastic! Without even leaving the car we were on our way in just a few minutes. Great service and price!

In and out! I went in to have Roy fix a flat tire. Not only did he fix my flat tire, but he took the time to show me how to properly remove my tires and he fixed my 20 year old bike rack! In and out!
I highly recommend Custom Cycle for all your biking needs.

This place is awesome! I originally went in for a second opinion on whether or not my 4 year old bike needed a tune-​up and he was honest and said no after the first place I went to said yes. He already saved me $ 60 with that. After that I bought new high performance Schwalbe tires from him $ 35 each for my mountain bike and I couldn’t not be more satisfied with them! They look great and the service at Custom Cycles is fantastic. They can take apart your bike and put it back together if you want to paint a naked frame, they can sell you reflectors for new rims, and they have plenty of products on their walls for sale. Best bike shop I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot around LA so that means a lot! Go to Custom Cycles for any and all bike needs!

So I was reading the reviews of many places around and was reading the ones for this shop. I was weary to be honest. I called this morning to see if they could help me assemble and tune up my new bike I received in the mail. I called before they opened and spoke with Ray who said it could maybe be a day or two but to bring it in and he’ll see what he could do. I brought it in right at opening. Met Ray who was pretty cool guy. I was expecting to pay $ 60-​$ 75 bucks but he said oh that’s easy, $ 25. I have a fixie so apparently it’s quick. He said give him until about 2pm. I called at 215 to see if it’s ready. They told me it was. Went and grabbed it. No issues bike looks and rides great. So this is my experience and I would for sure go back.

Came here to get some cleats for my new spin shoes. I got a great deal on some new Shimano spin shoes on amazon but didn’t know it came without the cleats. I looked up cycling stores near my house and found Ray. He was so helpful and even called my spinning class to see what kind of pedals are on the bikes so he could get me the right cleats for my shoes. Service was impeccable. He even installed the cleats free of charge and gave me a great deal not charging me $ 25 bucks. I will definitely go back again.

Amazing shop, the owner is a great guy, very funny and sarcastic. Totally my kind of people. Very down to earth, most importantly he took care of my bike wonderfully and at good rates. They are not the cheapest in town but I think that in order to have a shop that you can walk into and a person who will answer your questions means you need to pay a little more. Imagine if the only way to get any information or parts was to order it online! That would be an awful awful world. If you need any parts at all or just someone to make fun of you this is the place to go!

Avoid! Everything is way to expensive and the prices are made up as you go. The owner thinks he knows it all! Very rude, horrible service. This is their 2nd store because he was run out of the first one. Go anywhere but here if you want helpful, and polite service.

4 years, 2 bike purchases, lots of equipment and countless times in for flats and upkeep you figure your bike shop would even recognize you. I was a stranger every time I came in. The owner at this point seems like he has been doing it for so long that it’s just a job that barely keeps him afloat. And not the passion that you find at other bike shops. Always irritated, never smiles, but will get your bike stuff out prompt. I moved to Oregon and have never looked back. The bike shops there are full of guys who are passionate about helping you with smiles and stories and excited about biking. It’s been a year and a half since I moved from LA, and I still think about how much money I spent, and how lame the owners attitude was. He needs to retire.

I walked in there looking for a helmet and lock. He gave a good price. Nice clean shop. The owner knows a lot about bikes and won’t try to sell you anything you don’t need.

Great shop, they guy helping me was from Germany and seemed to be very knowledgeable about bikes. I just got a quick cheap check up, air in tires, fixed some gears and some greasing up, and it all came out to $ 10. The bike worked so much better and the ride home was much easier and more pleasant. Definitely will be back for more work and gear for me bicycle.

The girl who works at this shop has helped me time and time again with my bike. I’ve had, oooohh about 50 flat tires this year, no exaggeration, and every time I come back to the shop, she’s just as heart broken as I am. I have BS rims, and she’s worked tirelessly to solve the never-​ending flat problem. This shop is fantastic with service. If they don’t carry it, they’ll order it. Support the scene, never stop riding.
