Hey buddy… buddy, buddy, buddy, the next time a customer asks you, «How are you today?», please don’t hang up on them, several times, and then stop answering the phone.
As a small business owner, who I am pretty sure wants to succeed, it is part of your job, to verify that the person who called your business line, is a potential customer willing to spend money for services, money which is necessary for your business to continue to operate…
That is unless; You are operating some type of illegal money laundering scheme, in which case you could give two fk’s about customers or the phone,…which would explain you hanging up on me so many times and not answering after, …oh sh! t, I might get knocked off Unilocal

AMATEURS! Took my computer to this place to have it worked on. Just a typical service to make it run better and faster. Well the guy Sam who runs the place talked me into getting a new hard drive which cost more and we end up losing out photo shop. And overall the computer is not that much better than before. The guys Sam who’s in charge just sits in the front with his dog and writes up orders. I truly don’t think he knows much about computers. And they just have one guy in the back that does all the work. Will never go to this place again.

I normally manage my own I. T. resources at my office. The staff here is very helpful and professional when the needs of my office exceed the time that I have available or my experience. We use both mac and pc based machines Sam is very proficient in both. I recommend their services highly.

I’ve used ACS’s services twice now and been very happy both times. Sam and Anthony did a great job cleaning the gunk out of my PC’s tower case and, a few months later, when my computer gave me the black screen of death, they were able to diagnose and fix the issue and keep the cost down to a reasonable rate. The reason I’m giving four stars, rather than five, is due to the time it took to resolve everything.
Part of that was my fault, I admit; they cloned my data, replaced my failing hard drive and reloaded it in three days. Everything seemed fine, ’till I hooked it up to an external drive at home which, apparently, had a virus that zorched everything. Unfortunately, when I brought it back, it took another nine days to fix everything again.
In the end, I got my computer back in perfect working condition and Sam and Anthony worked with me to make sure everything was in order. It just took considerably longer than I was expecting. However, I am satisfied overall and would definitely use their services again and recommend them to others.

I work in IT, I was born and raised in Silicon Valley and I have standards set for good business. This business is not quite up to par and here’s why. I had a small broken connector on my ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the logic board. I called in and Sam answered, I asked him if the part is available and he said bring it in. The part is generally just $ 10-​$ 15 dollars and they would charge a $ 75 dollar labor charge to install it. There was a misunderstanding apparently when I came into his shop. He gave me the cable but then tried to charge me $ 75 dollars for labor EVEN though they weren’t installing it or even really touched my macbook. I had already disassembled my Macbook and did ALL the work for them to diagnose the Macbook and all that was needed was a cable which he was willing to sell me… with an automatiuc labor fee of $ 75. Any other shop would just sell you the part, get the money and move on with life making BOTH of our lives easier. Not so here… they WILL always try to charge you for labor even if they do not do ANY work. His reasoning is «we are a repair shop not retail so labor is always included». Poor business practice! He never even offered to lower the labor fee or anything… I would have paid $ 10 bucks as a convenience fee but nope… nothing and so I just walked out the door.
I understand businesses can set their own rules but no other repair shops work this way in any industry. Cars, computers, etc, you can go to the repair shop to buy just parts without paying labor. Avoid this place, find a place that puts the customers needs first. Just sell the cable, make your money there rather than making nothing at all when a customer walks out the door because it’s pretty messed up to automatically charge $ 75 dollars additional for work that they aren’t even doing!
FInd a local repair shop that works their hardest to get your things repaired rather than charging labor fees. When I was an IT specialist in the Bay Area, I’d just try to get you up and running without extra cost. Efficiency over gouging!

So I needed the data on my laptop removed, but the OS intact. I am new to The Valley, and did not know where to go-​thank you Unilocalers! I’m not interested in going to someone’s apartment for computer repair-​I want a real business not some guys in their Mom’s bedroom

I love these guys. We’re a MAC family, so knowing a reliable MAC repair store is so helpful. We’ve brought so many computers to them. Their prices are great, they know their stuff. They’re always our first stop when we need a MAC repair. They’ve saved our hides and our computers numerous times!

Absolute happy with the service. They added more RAM to my iMac 21.5″ (14,1) model. This is the model you have to take the entire computer apart to do the memory upgrade. They did a perfect job. 5 STARTS!

These guys are awesome! If you have an older computer go out on you make sure to consult with these guys first. I have an an old iMac since 2008 and I have always loved this computer. I have many others, but this has the larger screen and I am not in the position to put out a couple thousand for a new one at this time. Went down to three guys, new hard drive and also ended up upgraded RAM. Computer is running BETTER than new. I will be doing all my business with these guys. Remember an old computer still can be optimized for a small investment and save a bunch until you are really ready to upgrade.

These guys were great saved me from buying a new computer! I had a defective charger he solved the issue within 5 minutes. I highly recommend them.

Sam, the owner, is the best! He makes sure all work is done right, done promptly and above all with honesty. In my case I wanted to upgrade my 5-​year-​old iMac with an SSD and move the existing HD to the optical bay. I bought the parts online and Sam had his tech do the install perfectly. The performance improvement is nothing short of amazing! His labor charge was very fair and his tech’s competence kept the costs to the minimum. I recommend ACS without reservation.

They are technical and professional.
Very personal and caring about the product.
They told me what was wrong without mystery or hidden costs.

What a great find! Sam diagnosed my laptop issue quickly, and fixed it just as fast! His price was good, and his service was pleasant and friendly. Patronize local businesses! Thanks Sam, And fellow Unilocalers, for this great new source!

I brought my macbook into ACS after exhausting my options at the Apple «genius» bar (mind you my laptop was still under an extended warranty). According to their diagnostic, they recommended purchasing more RAM as well as clearing up my hard drive (at the time it was roughly 180gb full out of the total 250gb available). I added the extra RAM and backed up my information to an external to delete it off my laptop and saw no change.
I dropped it off at ACS early in the day for them to run a diagnosis and within a few hours I received a phone call from Sam with an update– he said my hard drive was actually going bad. I found this hard to believe at first since my laptop was fairly new, so I went in and spoke with Jolie, the head technician who was able to elaborate more on the problem.
She took the time to show me the diagnostic tests she ran and the results she was receiving. They suggested that I upgrade my hard drive, which was an HDD– a standard model from apple– to a solid state, SSD (this was all foreign to me too until they explained everything).
I took the chance of following their recommendation and couldn’t be more pleased! My macbook is running faster than it ever ran before and I placed all my backed up information back onto my laptop. They also made a suggestion that I advise everyone reading this to do as well— download utility applications to monitor your laptop’s efficiency. I was using Blackmagic Disk Speed Test (I think it’s free in the app store) to check the Read & Write speed of my hard drive.

I needed a new hard drive installed in my late 2008 iMac. It was becoming very slow since the drive was slowly dying making the iMac almost inoperable. Called a few places around the valley and Sam at ACS was the most courteous and helpful over the phone so I decided to take it over there. I decided I wanted to go with a SSD as the replacement drive and in two days the work was done and it feels like I have a new iMac again… Would recommend this place to anyone who needed work done on their Mac. Thanks again for your help Sam.

Once again, ACS has knocked my socks off with their outstanding service.
I recently acquired an old laptop from my mother in law that had a bad display, i took it to ICS, a terrible computer repair shop around the corner, and was told that the motherboard was fried and it would be too expensive to repair. I should just buy a new laptop. Since Jolie and ACS did such a fantastic job on my Macbook (Same day turn around. See my other review) I decided to let them have a look. Jolie booted it up, plugged it into a monitor and it worked fine. It just has a bad display and a corrupt hard drive.
But here’s where they really impressed me. They just happened to have an identical laptop on hand. Same model, same processor, same OS, same everything. So they’re either going to swap parts or else just trade me for the working laptop.
I just can’t say enough good things about them without my review getting flagged because Unilocal thinks I work for them or they’re paying me to say nice things about them.
ACS is the best computer repair shop west of the Mississippi. I highly, highly recommend!

Lifesavers. Brought a Sony VAIO in today on my way to the recycler to dispose of it. Sam and Jolie diagnosed it as needing a new power brick. $ 69.99 later it was booting up like it was brand new.
I am excited to bring in a waterlogged Mac Book Pro to see how they work their magic with this one.
These guys are pros and great to deal with. I would give them 6 stars if I could.

I have promise this review for some time and I apologize to Jolie that it has taken me so long.
I just want to let everyone know that this is a very knowledgeable Computer Tech, they have excellent customers service.
I totally trust this place with my computer and they never fail to fix any issues I have,
they always backup my documents and pictures so I don’t lose anything.
If I could I would give them much than 5 stars!!!
They are the best and I will only use Acs Computer Shop going forward,

Sam is a terrific and responsibly priced computer repairman (a dying breed!). My laptop fan was making a load, distracting noise. I took it to Sam and he told me what the range of problems could be. It was either going to be a simple and inexpensive fan replacement, or a more expensive chip issue. (It turned out to be the former.)
His quote for the repair was $ 20 less than the previous estimate from another shop. but more importantly, he had the laptop back to me in 24 hours, which was half what his original estimate was.
Sam was also very generous with his time. I asked him about some issues i was having with my iPod and an old iMac. Rather than try to sell me on his services, he suggested that I should get get a new iPod! The iMac issue will be something i will probably be working with him on in the future.
Great hours, by the way. He’s open until 7 on a weekday!

Jim G. and I realized his computer needed help: it wasn’t charging, it wasn’t recognizing the power cord, etc. After doing some searching online (on my Macbook, which has no problems, by the way), we conclude that the DC Power Jack needs replacing. Depending on where you read online, it’s either an easy fix or so complicated that it’s better to buy a new computer!
Of course I search Unilocal and find this place where someone recently had the same problem. I call, speak to Sam, and without seeing the problem, assures me that it’s in the range of $ 100 – 150 to fix. I go by to drop it off and, since Sam isn’t there I work with a woman whose name I didn’t get, but she was nice and helpful. She tells me Sam will look at it, call me, and tell me the price. He calls a couple hours later. And, the computer is fixed the next day! Less than 24 hours later I’m picking it up =)
Price is on point, computer is ready, Sam is very friendly, and I just so happened to find a Unilocal Deal as I was checking in! This process couldn’t have worked better!
I hope I don’t have to go there again, but if I do, I won’t hesitate. =)
