I really wanted to enjoy the meal, since my husband and I don’t get out very often. We thought it would be nice to go to a local hotspot. Unfortunately we we’re left utterly disappointed. The food was bland and the service was TERRIBLE. I am generally a very patient restaurant go-er, but this was horrendous. The waitresses were all gathered around the back station folding silverware when tables obviously needed attention. We asked a waitress who hadn’t been helping us for our check, but she never came back or passed the word to our waitress. We ended up just leaving the money on the table and left because we we’re so tired of waiting for service that was never going to come.

Great corn beef hash breakfast. Best since Carnegie Deli in NYC. Great service, friendly, prompt and pretty too. Will go again next time in Taos.

My family and I arrived this morning from Houston, TX. After settling in our house for the week we came to Taos Diner 2 and it was by far a great choice for breakfast. Most of us got an omelet which was delicious and it came with some home potatoes and biscuits. Yum! My dad had the chorizo con huevo which was also very tasty and my grandfather had the huevos rancheros. His plate was massive and he loved it! Highly recommend it if your in Taos.

The food here is usually reasonably good but today I ordered tacos… ugh! The meat was cold and absolutely flavorless. I hope they read the reviews because I feel this was merely an error and not the usual. I did tell the waitress but mealtime was almost over and I brought them home, seasoned them properly and heated the meat.

Holy burrito! This place was by far the best breakfast I had in Taos. Food was great and the people were super nice. Bit of a wait for a couple of things(only reason it’s not 5 stars) but other than that it was amazing. I had one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had in years. Please check this place out, you won’t be sorry.

Went there for lunch with my husband. He ordered Chicken Fried Steak breakfast and I ordered hamburger. When I cut into my burger it was raw. I sent it back. 20 minutes later and my husband has finished his meal, waitress finally goes into kitchen to check on my burger and comes out to tell me it’s almost ready. Uh-uh. Check please! Taos Diner has been crossed off the list of potential places to eat out at in Taos.

The worst customer service I’ve ever had at the Taos Diner 2! They definitely lost my business today! if you don’t enjoy your job then you have no business there dealing with customers!!!

A place to take our pup for breakfast. It wasn’t easy locating places in Taos that welcomed our dog. They have a menu that has several choices. Our biggest complaint is that they don’t clean the condiment buckets and their contents. DUSTALLOVEREVERYTHING!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Although busy, got right in. Very good, friendly service. The food was amazing! I ordered a spinach, feta, and tomato omelet that came with a HUGE biscuit! Ordered a side of gravy to go with it that was also amazing! Also tried the home fries with green chili and cheese– yummy! They also had a large selection of gluten-free breads. My sister-in-law had the green chili garlic sour dough and loved it! Will definitely be looking forward to returning on my next visit to Taos.

Not a Good Experience Taos Diner seems to have a good reputation for a non-touristy meal. We had a little over an hour for lunch, so we stopped in. The place was busy, but there were a few empty tables and no line at the door. After we ordered, it became apparent that they didn’t have enough staff on and they were slammed for their staffing level – 2 people on the floor, 1 cook and 1 dishwasher. We had to tell our server that we had an appointment after lunch and had to ask how much longer the food would be. We just got a snarky reply that we should know that it should be delayed when it was this busy. Well, when we walked in we didn’t know if this was an average day or not! Anyway, when the food did arrive, it was pretty good. One item was overly singed on the bottom. The food wasn’t anything I would rush back for, but it wasn’t bad either. We got on our way, just in time. But it will be our last time for Taos Diner.

I’m vegetarian and I ordered the California Benedict. On the California Benedict there IS ham which did not specify on the menu. She wanted to charge me half price for a item I never ate(which I never even knew was possible to do) then kept insisting that they take the ham off and that I should eat it like that. Kept going on how she didn’t want to «throw away the food». They should specify on the menu regardless if it says«traditional» Benedict that there is ham on it. In their«Traditional Benedict» on their menu it indicates ham on their item instead of just saying«traditional» like if it’s prior knowledge that there is ham. She then threw the check on the table and we waited for her to pick it up but then decided to go up to her. To sum it all up, she was extremely rude and I would never recommend any vegetarians or people who actually value customer service to come to this establishment.

Stopped by on our way back to Denver. It was so delicious! I had the corned beef hash and a prickly pear lemonade. MMmmmmmm Seriously so good! Service was attentive and quick also. Next time I’m in town I know I’ll be stopping here!

There is some good food to be had in Taos and the Taos Diner is proof of that. While the place was packed when I arrived Sunday morning, there were still seats at the counter. The service was a little overwhelmed, but these gals were exhibiting some serious hustle and were super friendly. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and you get to choose your chile. Of course, I went with the recommended«Christmas style» which means both RED and GREEN. Because what’s more Christmas than New Mexico? When it arrived, it was perfectly plated. Two big poached eggs, lots of beans, lots of chile and TONS of flavor. Absolutely delicious. And because it was a large tortilla underneath and I ate carefully, I got to eat a burrito loaded with chile sauce when my beans and eggs were done. YUMMO! Would absolutely return to Taos Diner 2. Good stuff!

I love the Taos Diners. I like Diner 2 better than 1 because I find the wait staff to be much more friendly. Everything I have had there was great and I have no complaints. Nothing else to say besides the fact that I have yet to be disappointed with the food or service.

Excellent breakfast, great service, nice place to eat. Stopped in for breakfast on a brief stop in Taos and was pleased with every aspect of the meal. I chose the«Penny Pincher» a the light bite option, and the poached egg was perfect, the potatoes crispy and the biscuit fresh out of the oven. The huevos rancheros were also a good option, based on feedback from across the table. The option for«Christmas» on top was a nice touch(both red and green sauces!). We also ordered a fruit bowl, which contained a good variety and amount of fruit, and coffee and OJ. Recommended to anyone wanting a great breakfast whilst in town.

We loved the original so much, we had to dine on the sequel. Taos Diner 2 provided precisely the same plot — er, menu — as the place down the road, so there isn’t much to comment on here regarding the food. This go ’round I went with Copper John’s Eggs, another solid choice, since we were headed home and I needed serious sustenance for the drive. It delivered, as did my wife’s french toast, nothing spectacular but home cookin’ at it’s finest. The atmosphere here is bright and shiny, they staff a little thin, but it works, meals made it to the table in due time. Our waitress was a little short on greetings, but when I asked if they offered an iced coffee she said«No, but I’ll make one for ya.» I’m always hesitant about this response, because that usually means the place will drop hot coffee in a glass of ice, but my drink was generally tasty, an espresso shot with milk and love, cold. Four star only because the space is a little tight, with few toys for kids, but still a great place to bring the fam. Menu options for the gluten weary appeared more plentiful here, so again, cheers y’all. A great place to get your morning grub on, and I’m betting the same is true for lunch.
