I found Tuffy on Unilocal and read the great reviews. One review was bad but I hoped for the best. I own a 2005 Jeep which is prime bait for dishonest service stations to tell you everything needs replaced due to age. Not The case at Tuffy They replaced my battery and said everything else looks good. Honesty will make you more money in the long run. Great job Nick and Tuffy.

Came here because my first experience with Tuffys was very good. This time I pulled up at 9:05 to get an oil change and at 10:35 I still did not have my car. When I checked with the mechanic in charge, he told me he had checked the car in 35 minutes after I got there, meaning it sat there for 35 minutes with no other cars being worked on and nothing being done to my car. Very disappointed! And then to top it off, when I went to the register to check out, he tried to charge me the full price not the advertised special price and unless I had said something I would’ve paid $ 30 more than what I paid. Not sure that I will go back to the same location

I was having such a terrible day and my tire was slowly leaking air. I came here and not only was the staff incredibly nice and helpful, but I didn’t get ripped off. I’m a young female and clueless about tires. This place could have flat out lied and I probably wouldn’t have known. They didn’t though, and that really shows integrity. Also, since I have a long road trip ahead of me, I was given the «tires 101» run down so that I can travel safely. My day is turned around, my car has been completely inspected so that I can have a safe trip, and I actually feel empowered. Who leaves a tire place feeling empowered? Haha this business is really doing something right and goes out of the way for the customer. I genuinely appreciate it and will definitely be using and recommending their services in the future! Great experience getting mom’s brakes done. Turned new rotors and recommended I don’t have to replace the pads or service the rear brakes. Rare to find assign honest mechanic not attempting to up well you.

After my excellent experience with Tuffy a fee months back, I came back to get my AC checked out and to purchase a headlight, intending to replace it myself. $ 10 to check the AC, and they offered to install the light while I was there. I figured, they were honest and well priced last time, sure, why not?
30 minutes later I’m told there’s nothing they can see that’s wrong with my AC. Ok, too bad, so can I get the car and leave? No, they’re still working on the headlight. I’ve replaced that light before, takes 15 minutes TOPS for an untrained guy like me. Another 45 minutes and they’re finally done. When I get to the register, I find out they have installed the most expensive light they have, 4X as expensive as the headlight I would have bought for myself. Moreover, they charge me for 90 minutes of labor. 90 minutes? Like I said, I know nothing about cars and have replaced that very bulb in 15 minutes.
I should’ve been more careful, but I trusted them based on my prior experience. Never again – these guys will take you for everything they can, just like everyone else.

Good prices compared to the dealership. The guy I dealt with in the beginning was very nice (had to get my belts replaced). The guy who rung up my bill was not nice at all.

Ditto to Robin T, she said it best. We brought our car to Adam for the 3 years we were living in Tampa and I trusted him completely to do what was best for the car. If you’re a woman worried about getting ripped off, Adam is a family man, he’s not out to get you. He really does have your best interests at heart. So glad I found this place for the time we lived in Tampa.

I’ve been coming here for all of my car needs for the past 3 years or so. As a young female who knows absolutely nothing about cars, I was wary that when I moved to Tampa, I would be tricked by a car place who would just make up things that were wrong with my car. However, Tuffy is very honest and they never try to trick me into spending more that I need to be spending.
Oil changes are very quick and cheap, and they have coupons on their site, which I use every time so that you can get an oil change for $ 17.95:

Uncommonly honest and fair pricing. I trust Adam and the staff at Tuffy implicitly. If they can do the work you need, this is the shop to go to.

I got my oil changed here and they did it quickly, while still checking for some other issues my car might have. They have probably the best reviews I have seen online for a car repair shop. Price was good and they have a USF discount. I like.

I used this place a few times when I lived in the USF area. Overall, I’d recommend them as far as honesty and fair pricing.
There were a couple of issues with lack of attention to detail. Once I had gotten tire work done and had to return to get a faulty installation corrected. This wasn’t a problem, and the staff was very helpful and willing to admit their mistake and fix everything for free. Another time I was unable to pick my car up, and they left it unlocked in the parking lot… and this isn’t the best part of town.
All things considered, I’d recommend them for routine auto maintenance.
