Specialties
We specialize in Cuban-style food. From our famous Cuban sandwiches to a pulled pork platter with black beans, rice, and fried plantains. We also serve homemade devil crabs and empanadas, crafted on-site, by hand. Our fresh ground coffee beans and steamed milk create one of our popular drinks– café con leche. We also have a complete breakfast menu as well as soups, salads, and a whole list of hot pressed sandwiches. So come and taste why we have been voted the Best Cuban Sandwich in North Tampa. We’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dine in or carry out.
History
Established in 1986.
Ruben’s Cubans started 27 years ago as a small sandwich shop in Temple Terrace serving mainly Cuban sandwiches. Today we have expanded into a sit down café with a full menu of Cuban-style food. From our famous Cuban sandwiches to a pulled pork platter with black beans, rice, and fried plantains. Dine in or carry out. We also have delivery available.
Meet the Business Owner
Ken J.
Business Owner
I just want to take a moment of your time to thank you for stopping by and checking out our restaurant. We’ve been around for over 25 years now. That’s saying something. But we also have some of the best Cuban-style food in town (but I’m a little biased). :)
Ruben’s Cubans is a locally-owned, family-style restaurant, and always has been. We make every effort to give you the best food at a reasonable price. Every morning I am at the local food market picking up our ingredients for our sandwiches, our soups, our empanadas, and our deviled crabs. And our delicious Cuban bread gets delivered fresh before I even walk in the door.
Now I know that everyone always has their own idea of what «Cuban food» should be, but we do our best to give you something you will enjoy!
So come by and see us for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I’m usually there myself (and if not me, then one of my daughters), behind the counter or sitting with one of our many «regulars», so be sure to say hi.
