This is my favorite pet store ever. Being a local I go here often. The staff is always so helpful and they always have great suggestions. I get my little guys nails trimmed here often and I got him groomed once. They do an amazing job! Support a local business and shop here!

What can I say? I love this place. They have very nice grooming. Reasonably priced and a huge selection of fancy dog food. If you’re looking for grain free, dehydrated, frozen, they have it all. The people are very helpful and friendly, they make me want to spend another $ 40 to groom my Boston Terrier there. She just smelled so good and looked so cute with her little bandana. Personal regret: Not asking if they knew anyone to babysit my chickens.

Love this grooming salon. Misty is my groomer, my dog adores her. She has such a loving way with animals, and she makes him look 10 years younger. The staff is great. The store has a great selection of animal toys and food. Love it there!!!

After spending several months getting my dog groomed with Misty I’m sorry to say that the inconsistencies of his cuts made me very unhappy. The last cut bye far was the worst! When having a scheduled appointment, and then being told «I was working him in». I don’t pay $ 70.00 for a bad cut and being «worked in» BECAUSE THAT’S EXACTLY HOW HIS CUT LOOKED, «RUSHED» NO DETAIL IN THE FINISH. I COULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB MYSELF. In fact, I had to take him to another groomer and they pointed out all the missed spots.
It’s to bad when I called Misty to dicuss the matter I got attitude, «like how dare you question my wotk». Seriously dropping cash in the store, apparently means nothing. When I contacted the owner to call me to discuss this. I never heard a word. Bye Bye, beware! When your dog’s pens is so irratated from a clipper burn. That it needed to be medicated for 3 weeks, that seals the deal. I hope she improves in the future, until then if you don’t mind your dog looking & feeling bad, have at it.

I visited for the first time today with my two frenchies. The staff was so incredibly helpful and interested in my pups I immediately felt welcome and as though I’d been visiting Health Mutts for years! I was looking for a little treat for my dog for his birthday and they had the cutest display of them. They were a tad pricey, but much more reasonable than I’ve seen at other places in the past, plus, they’re occasion items so what they were they were priced well. The store seemed to have several choices of top quality dog food, so I’m sure I’ll be returning soon!

This is such a great pet store. Prices tend to be a little higher, but still reasonable and I like supporting a local business. All of the staff are attentive and knowledgable. The groomer is seriously awesome– she went above and beyond to help my older, scared cat get a bath and a shaved bottom, while still being patient and understanding of my cat’s behavior. Health Mutt offers doggy dentals at an unbeatable rate and they carry my cat’s favorite food (Tiki cat) and my dog’s favorite food (Merrick) which are both hard to find in Tampa, so I really hope they are here to stay!

Another great experience at the Health Mutt today! The staff there never fails to give the BEST customer service. Courteous, friendly, and they always remember my fur Kids. The thing I purchase their the most are the toys, they carry a great selection of TOUGH toys. My fur kids are super powerful chewers and these TOUGH toys last FOREVER! The staff is also well informed and there to help me pick a customer favorite toy… I have never had a bad experience and am always delighted with my shopping experience when I leave there. Health Mutt is a great addition to our neighborhood!
PS for tough cheers the gator is the BEST toy! They haven’t torn it apart yet!

One of the greatest attributes of Seminole Heights is our own pet superstore!!! Super– because everyone who works there is amazing!
Kendra, the owner, runs a tight ship. From the grooming to the customer service, we have never had a bad experience or even a mediocre experience at Health Mutt.
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They carry a HUGE variety of treats and foods. I don’t think that there is much that they don’t carry. Toys, chew toys, bedding, medicinal items… you name it they have it… and if they don’t have it they will try to get it for you.
They also have do it yourself bathing stations, monthly clinics and the also offer dental cleanings without putting your animal under anesthesia. The cleanings are scheduled I believe like 3 months out, so best to get your name and an appt. They fill up fast.
I love having a local business like this around and I look forward to supporting them for years to come.

This place is amazing! So many awesome things for your loved cats and dogs, everyone is super knowledgable. The groomers are awesome, I had a girl groom my dog, Sebastian. She was So kind, my dog is very afraid of getting groomed, and she handled him like a pro! Very professional! My dog didn’t want to leave he absolutely loved her. Won’t be going any where else! This is our spot thanks to her:) (sorry forgot her name) but everyone there is super nice and they definitely know what their doing.

What a great place to visit if you are looking for truly pet enthusiasts staff, genuine and friendly service. The person who helped us was very knowledgeable about the environmentally safe fleas treatment product we were looking for. It is out of our way, but so worth making the drive.

Health Mutt has consistently provided a great quality product, fantastic service with a knowledgeable staff. I am always greeted when I walk in, the staff is very friendly and makes me feel valued. Everyone is knowledgeable about the products and services they offer and sometimes have samples that I can try. That’s a huge for me. I’d like to see this business continue to represent what business should be in Seminole Heights. I’m proud they are in my community.

The folks here at Health Mutt were simply amazing and helpful. Any question or assistance we needed about the products we were looking for was answered with patience and a plethora of knowledge! Their selection of dog collars and harnesses are great and you can tell that the owners truly-​truly take the time to select wonderful quality products for their customers — from the toys to leashes! We really enjoy coming here because as a first time owner, this place really makes it easy for us! Their treat selection is to die for! Love love this one of kind pet spot! Even if you don’t own a pet, it’s a great place to buy gifts for those of us who do!

We just moved here from out of state. I looked on Unilocal for groomers for Maxx. He’s a 4 year old Sheltie who was a rescue! From the moment I called they were WONDERFUL!!’ They were very informative, pleasant and warm. When I arrived they were all so caring. They introduced themselves, met with Maxx and they knew exactly what I was looking for. They whole staff was Fantastic. Misty was AMAZING! When I walked into to pick him up and they brought him out, Maxx felt like he was home! Thank you again and I will definitely come here and here only from here on out!!!

Perfect trendy, hipster Seminole Heights pet supply and dog wash. This non hipster Yuppie loved it and so did Chewy!

My first time there and I completely loved it. Passing by I always thought this store would be very over-​priced and kind of edgy like (similar to many businesses in Old Seminole Heights) so I never bothered to go in due to my prejudice. I’m happy to say I was very, very mistaken!!!
The store is very cute, well arranged and clean. Immediately after I went in I was greeted by one of the employees who promptly helped me, he was very knowledgeable about their products and even knew the history of them! I was looking for cat chews and he went above and beyond to make sure I was getting what I wanted and even suggested other options that could work wonders. The prices are great as well!!! Perfectly fair.
I will definitely be coming back to buy more supplies for my kitties!

Really helpful owner and cashier. I had visited Velo Champ in the same building and didn’t even know this spot was here until I saw their open sign.
My cat turned 10 this month, and I’m wanting to put him on a food with less carbs because I’m worried about diabetes. I’ve bought super fancy cat food before, you know, made with venison, duck, no grain, etc… and he looked at me and said (with his eyes), «What in the hell is this?» I ended up donating a $ 34 bag of cat food to a shelter. At Health Mutt, they have a guarantee on the food. Even if it’s opened, you can bring it back if your pet won’t eat it. The owner was really helpful in pointing out which foods had free rebate offers (like buy 10 get one free) and which ones tend to be tastier for finicky cats. He walked a woman around the store with her big dog making recommendations on which chew bones were better for big dogs with strong bites AND would make the least mess.
When I went to check out, the cashier gave me a sample bag of Zuke’s cat treats and then asked if I wanted any cat food samples. Great! I brought home 3 different bags, all different brands, then made a kitty taste-​test. I put a bit of each, plus his current food, on opposite corners of a divided plate. I planned to see which one he preferred. Shocker: my greedy cat took bites of all 4 foods almost exactly equally and consumed every last kibble off the plate.
I guess Health Mutt stocks some very delicious cat foods! They receive the Wabash seal of approval.

Yes, I drive up from the heart of South Tampa to visit Health Mutt and the awesome folks in Seminole Heights on a regular basis. It is a terrific shop for your furry family member with a staff that immediately makes you feel welcome and can assist in decision-​making if you have questions.
Health Mutt has a wide variety of food options, treats, bowls, beds, toys, cleansers — basically everything you need to get started and maintain the comfort of your pet. Larger dog owners will appreciate the self-​service dog wash area that is well maintained. There is also a groomer onsite — and you can utilize an on-​line tool to set up your service that is extremely convenient.
My picky girls love the products we have purchased from Health Mutt, so this store is 100% approved by them, and your family will love it too!

Health Mutt is a very awesome, neighborhood pet store featuring all natural pet treats and foods, along with some terrific pet toys, accessories, and grooming services for the Fido’s and Fluffy’s in your life.
I am a huge lover of four-​legged pets, but unfortunately I lost my favorite feline to degenerative kidney failure a while back. With my crazy travel and work schedule it’s not fair for me to take on the responsibility of saving a new shelter pet, but then constantly be putting my little buddy into the kennel when I’m on the road. Instead I depend upon the generosity of my business partner to let me sit on the floor and play with his two dogs whenever we work from his house.
SIDE BAR COMMENT: I recently purchased a Seminole Heights Unites «Fires Die — Community Lives» t-​shirt to support the employees of Domani Bistro and A Modern Line furniture store, following the devastating fire which destroyed the restaurant and damaged the furniture store next door. 100% of the proceeds, after the raw cost of the garment, are donated to the employees, so this is a really good cause –
. Earlier this week I received an email saying that the t-​shirts were ready for pickup at Health Mutt in Seminole Heights. Turns out that the owner of the pet store is a big supporter of Seminole Heights’ businesses, and was instrumental in creating the local team to support these two businesses and their staffs. Very cool!!!
OK, BACK TO OUR STORY: Health Mutt sits just a few blocks east of Florida Avenue at the intersection of Hanna and Central Avenues, right in the heart of Seminole Heights. I parked out front, and wandered into the store to take a look around. My plan was to pick up my t-​shirt, and also find some doggie treats for my business partner’s two dogs, Izzi and Belle.
Bill likes to say that Izzi and Belle are sisters from different mothers since Izzi is a pomeranian, and Belle is a black Lab, but their personalities are like twin sisters. I’m often showered with dog love and affection the moment that I walk in his front door, and I have to play with them and give them treats before they let Bill and I get down to work.
Charlie from Health Mutt was a huge help in navigating my way through the myriad of dog treat options, and I ended up buying a box of all-​natural Cloud Star «Wag more bark less» baked applewood-​smoked bacon dog treats which will keep me on the good side of Izzi and Belle for the next few weeks. I also picked up some appropriately-​sized Barkworthies Bully stick chew thingies which are much better than those nasty ol’ rawhide chews.
While Charlie was getting my t-​shirt from the back room, I had the chance to watch one of the staff bathing and grooming a few dogs, and was very impressed by her attention to the dogs and her gentle demeanor.
The store is packed with healthy and great quality food and treats, and there were all sorts of toys, collars, harnesses, leashes, and bedding just waiting for you to take home. Super friendly people, and you can tell that they really enjoy working with pets and their owners. Great little find in the middle of Seminole Heights.

Our event for Pups & Cupcakes introduced me to this little gem of a shop. Unique and friendly, the entire establishment is thoughtfully customer (human and quad) friendly and a complete pleasure to visit.
Health Mutt offers beds, toys, foods, treats… everything that’s good for your four legged family member. The wash area is adorable and set up beautifully.

A local, specialty animal store? In Seminole Heights? Que?
After one visit, I may never been seen at Petsmart again! Despite this shop being about one mile from my front door, I only recently discovered it on Unilocal.I quickly made a trip over and spoke to the owner about my shed-​monster of a cat. I told her that I brush his hair for half an hour until I cannot possibly put him through the torture any longer… yet…two days later, my house is completely swarmed with fur again. How is this possible?
I was told to use a better food and to drizzle a certain oil over his bowl to strengthen his coat. I definitely would not have known any of this existed without her help. I walked out with several samples of food, drizzle and litter so that I could give them a try before investing more cash long-​term. It can be hurtful to a cat’s diet to suddenly change the food they are used to for several years… something else I would told but probably should have known as a long time cat owner.
Healthy Mutt is a fairly large store and has seemingly everything you could ever want for your pet. And with the friendly and helpful people that make up this place, I think I’ve visited my last pet shop.
