Great authentic pub with laidback atmosphere.

Authentic Irish pub. Good traditional items like Irish stew and Shepards pie. However a bit salty. Sandwiches made well. And of course a pine of Guinness. Friendly staff and management. Also learned they are opening a new location at Tampa International Airport. Lucky travelers. Should be busier at lunch. 4 stars for the service and good reliable food.

I’m not crazy about this place. Sure it looks fab from the outside, and if you’re just looking for a pint or two is not too shabby, but I wasn’t crazy about the food at all. In fact, I was disappointed. The potato and leek soup was not what I expected. At all. Don’t order it expecting a traditional creamy bowl. Instead you get a broth with some potatoes, celery, and leeks. I understand about pubs and pub food, but I’ve had better.
Our group had a reservation for lunch, and the server was great, but one would think there might have been a second called in for such a large group plus the regular lunch.
I won’t be back anytime in the foreseeable future.

Price: $ 36.86
Ambiance: Very low key bar with tons of dark brown wood and Irish memoriabilia decorating the wall. A majority of the staff have an irish accent and of the some regulars too which adds to the feel of the place. They occasionally thry have live music on their stage although the night we arrived most of the band had already left for the evening.
Food: Fish & Chips were very solid with an excellent fry and moist tender fish. The tartar sauce was pretty standard and the fries solid but with nothing to set them apart from any other fries. The reuben was probably the best of the night with a tasty rye bread, plenty of savory corned beef and a good proportion of kraut. Our beers were artfully poured and slaked our thirst just fine.
Overall the food here is very solid, not gourmet and not fancy but tasty and filling. Perhaps the biggest draw of the place is the atmosphere which is freindly and at times boisterous with the irish personalities floating about but it has an appealing charm I would not mind coming back to again and again.

I’m still leaving this at a 4 stars because this is an institution and the music is still always one of the main reasons why I come.
The cider selection still hasn’t changed and I finally ate here. Just the other day, I had the Guinness Stew. I was not impressed. There were 2 orders of fish n chips ordered and both of them felt it was a bit greasy, they’d both had better but it was pretty good.
I would stick with the bar, the music and accept it for what it is.

Good smoked salmon dip and waitress was really helpful but there was a strange smell the entire time. And although the floor was very clean, the booth was covered with dried out food and chairs needed cleaning. Otherwise a nice place, good prices, & I’ll probably be back.

Perfect little bar. Great for watching sports and quaint enough to be a neighborhood go-​to bar. Had the corned beef and cabbage which was pretty good too.

oh my gosh this place is amazing! The bartenders are all super nice. It has a full bar, and the food is great! I had the corned beef Reuben after a recommendation from the bartender and it was delicious! They had a screen projecting the Notre Dame game, but other than that they don’t play football. Not that I mind it, sometimes it’s nice to go to a place where you can just talk to the person you’re with. No loud, blaring hip hop music in the background. Don’t get me wrong, I love hip hop, but this is the perfect place to go when you actually want to talk to the person you’re sitting by. Will definitely be back soon.

The décor and atmosphere will transport you to Ireland without a passport. This is the Best Irish bar I have ever been in.
I have not ever had a chance to eat the food here but the atmosphere is addicting. I tell stories to friends and family about the times we have had here. Even if you are not a big drinker, its a fun place to visit but be warned, the people here are very friendly and the drinks do flow!

Given the reviews, I was expecting more. This might be a happening bar, but my review is about the food. Among the group at the table, we had corned beef and cabbage, Shepard’s Pie, Fish & Chips and chicken tenders. The corned beef was good, but the cabbage would have been better if cooked more. The Shepard’s Pie was ok, but bland. My wife had the Fish & Chips. I did not try it, but it messed with her stomach the rest of the night. The Four Greens salad was fresh, but mostly Romaine.
I did not have a beer, but the menu had mostly UK and American macro beers with some entry-​level craft beers. (There are a lot of craft beers that better replicate UK styles. It would be good to see them in a place like this.) The thatched roof was interesting, but the place otherwise was adorned as a dingy pub. Service was good and the place seems to be a local favorite, but I am not seeing it as a place to dine. Most of the parking is in an unstructured lot down the street. Don’t expect to pull up in front of the place and park.

Thatched roof, Irish accents, excellent beer and Irish whiskey selection. The smoked fish spread is my favorite to order. It’s filled with calories I’m sure but well worth it. :)

Four Green Fields is located just outside of downtown Tampa in an authentic looking little building with a grass thatched roof. I was to meet some friends there and whenever Guiness is mentioned, I’m there! I checked their Internet website in order to find it and was really surprised to see that a Dublin based magazine rated Four Green Fields as one of the world’s top Irish Pubs (outside of Ireland). In their list of the top ten, it came in fifth!
I really was pleasantly surprised to discover this little building (which looks somewhat out of place on Platt Street), and inside there are no blaring LCD TVs, no juke box, but plenty of beer on tap and Irish fare on the menu. I had a Guiness and potato skins. If you want a nice little corner pub to meet friends for conversation in Tampa, this is the place to go!
The staff was friendly and accomodating and they know how to pour a Guiness! There are also some tables outfront, but you really want to be inside away from the heat and noise.
If you are in the area, I recommend you take time to check it out!

I’m going to be brief, because I don’t want to get overly emotional and have to keep stopping to wipe the tears away from my eyes.
I loved my visit to Four Green Fields. I just wish I hadn’t waited until the last day to
see it. It would have been nice to go back.
If you are in Tampa — St Petersburg. Heck, if you are in Atlanta and hitch a ride down there — GO. Just go. It felt like I was stepping into a pub in Ireland.
It’s a little dark and mysterious, just like you would expect. When I say it’s «my kind of place» — I mean it. This is my kind of place. I felt right at home instantly.
That’s it. I think I have something in my eye.

Low key small quiet old traditional Irish family bar with live irish music Fri and Sat, popular among the older 35 – 50 demographic. This bar does host a decent running club that brings in a younger crowd on Tuesday’s at 6pm for a 5k run. If you are looking for a good time on another day than the run for brews night, avoid this bar. There is very limited street parking available, Service was kind of slow, and there are no drink specials. At $ 15 for corned beef, $ 14 for shepherds pie, they’re a bit on the expensive side compared to other Irish restaurants. Location is close to Bayshore which is convenient for the runs for brews events but that’s about it.
As an alternative Irish bar that may be a little less traditional without the Irish music but with a more lively atmosphere, Macdintons has a younger crowd and daily $ 8 meal specials, happy hours, karaōke, and way better drink specials. Maloneys in channelside has a slightly older crowd than macdintons but still younger than four green fields and also runs excellent daily drink and food specials. The preference for other Irish bars boils down to how lively you want the bar to be and your age.

A really amazing Irish Pub in Tampa. Many «pub» in the Tampa Bay are can’t get it right and they over step into a Sports Bar. This is not the case with Four Green Fields.
I got the Fish & Chips which is my way of ranking Irish pubs. The was the BEST Fish & Chips. They use Harp’s Lager beer batter was crispy, and the fish was moist, it was amazing.
They also have a thatched roof, which I didn’t know are a trademark of pubs in Ireland.

Last weekend I had some friends visiting from Wisconsin. They wanted to go dancing but by Saturday night came along we were to tired to wait until the nightclubs got kickin’. I suggested getting a few pints at Four Green Fields. It’s one of my favorite Tampa and the place my Fiancé and I first met. (It holds many good memories & I wanted to share it with my friends.)
When we arrived we sat at one of the tables along the wall and were quickly served by a lovely little waitress who was sassy and wonderful. She gave food and drink suggestions and was just a pleasure to have wait on us. We enjoyed Cider, Black & Tan, Black Velvet (Guinness & Cider), & Kilkenny. All cold and well poured. Sean gobbled up a very large hamburger and we shared hot crunchy onion rings.
Ruaile Buaile, an amazing band from Ireland was playing Sat night. Four Green Fields always have Irish music. I will look for these guys coming to play again because they were AMAZING! They were young, unique with a great sound. They had banjos, guitars, fiddles, & this weird drum that wasn’t a drum (you gotta see it to believe it). They played several covers (both Irish and contemporary). We were up out of our seats dancing and spinning.

It may sound strange, but if somebody I trust sounds like they know what they’re talking about when it comes to quality chicken salad… I will follow up and seek it out.
A friend’s girlfriend recently raved about the chicken salad sandwich at Four Green Fields and today I made it my lunch stop.
I’ve only been here previously for a quick drink and have always been impressed by their fine selection of single malts and whiskey, although that was before I got spoiled by winning multiple high-​stakes bets for bottles of Johnny Blue (Thank you, Peyton Manning for your lousy performance against the Seahawks) and now I simply don’t drink any other scotch.
While Four Green Fields is a bit out of my way (and today’s construction on Platt was a pain to negotiate), I was pleased with my lunch and treated kindly by the woman behind the bar.
Their tasty yet simple chicken salad holds together well, is served on raisin toast and cut neatly into three triangles along with a generous side of fries.
While it isn’t the best chicken salad I’ve had (That is served at Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial golf tournament annually staged just outside of Columbus, Ohio), it more than justified my special trip down that way this afternoon.
Next time, I’ll try their Reuben Sandwich with a Guinness Blonde (Just haven’t seen that on draft anywhere else in Tampa) and see how that works out.

This is a nice quaint Iris pub. The place was packed on a Saturday night and they were charging admission at the door. We explained, we just wanted to eat and they were kind enough not to charge us the covet.
It was so packed that there was no place to sit. Another couple was gracious enough to ask if we wanted to share their table
We warmly accepted their generous offer and began to peruse the menu. The menu consisted of typical pub grub with a few surprises. No one was eating, so I didn’t quite know how to read that situation
Everyone was quite excited for the band to start! I played it safe with a cheeseburger & fries, while Cowboy ordered the salmon
The drinks never ran dry * with a packed house. Service was fantastic. My burger, was a fairly decent burger & I could oh eat half of it. The fries were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just how I Ike them. I am sorry to say the salmon was way overcooked and had American cheese on it, not a good choise.
Then the band started & as much as we were enjoying talking with our table mates, there was no talking over the band.
Word of caution, before you pay the cover, make sure you like the band. I would return on a night that had no band for the eclectic patrons and great service.
What’s a girl to do? Roll with wherever you are and enjoy.

Four Green Fields is an authentic Irish pub with a real thatched roof perched atop a little white-​washed hut, and plenty of Guinness on tap. You’ll find FGF along Platt Street between Plant Avenue and the Platt Street Bridge leading into downtown.
Once through the doors the true charm of Four Green Fields becomes apparent. This is a great place to pull up a stool at the bar and enjoy the Irish brogue of your bartender as you order a properly-​poured pint and look over the menu. There are dart boards in the corner, live Irish music most nights, and a real camaraderie among the patrons. They were even nice to a Scotsman like me!
I was thrilled to see Kilkenny on tap, which is an Irish cream ale from the makers of Guinness. Kilkenny is similar to Smithwick’s Draught; however, it has less «hoppy» finish and has a nitrogenated cream head similar to Guinness. An interesting side note (thanks to my bartender, Paul), Kilkenny is brewed in the oldest operating brewery in Ireland, and It is served in similar manner to Guinness; fully risen with a head of about an inch. It was a real treat watching him pour this beer and telling me the backstory.
My delightful dinner & drinking companion, Miss Anna M. and I wandered into Four Green Fields after our walking sunset photo tour around downtown Tampa. We were hungry and ready for a cold beer, and this was the perfect place to stop.
Upon the recommendation of Paul (quickly becoming our favorite bartender), we both had a cup of their homemade Irish potato and leek soup. The soup was delicious, however as with most foods from the Isles, the seasoning was non-​existent and so I added a healthy blast of black pepper to mine, while Anna reached for the salt. I also ordered a very delicious corned beef sandwich on wheat bread, and Anna nibbled delicately upon loaded cottage potato skins while we both enjoyed our Adult beverages.
I had a great time on my visit to Four Green Fields, and will definitely go back and have some fun watching a Liverpool Football Club match with my new Gaelic friends. I’ll hoist a pint in their honor, and say:
May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been,
The foresight to know where you are going,
And the insight to know when you have gone too far.

Four Green Fields is another one of my favorite bars in Tampa. I love the authenticity of the thatched roof and the décor inside.
The staff is always friendly and there is normally live music playing. Four Green Fields is also the official Liverpool Football Club Bar for our watch parties on Sunday mornings!
Parking is never a problem here. FGF owns a huge parking lot that accommodates at minimum 75 cars. It is also a great bar to go to when the temperature is much cooler, because there is outside seating out front and the patio out back.
Food is consistently good here and you can’t go wrong with anything you choose. Tonight I had the Irish Potato Leek Soup, which was a little bland for me. But, I am a salt-​aholic so everything is bland to me. My dining companion and good friend, Steve E. enjoyed his without all the extra seasoning.
I also ordered the Cottage Potato Skins, which is FGF’s take on the typical potato skins. They were fried perfectly and crisp. They tasted even better when slathered with sour cream.
Four Green Fields is a great laid back bar with a nice chill vibe. No douchebaggery here! Definitely stop in and have an adult beverage, some Irish Pub goodness, and be douchebag free!
