Betty Rocker Bakery, Catering and Concessions

I was at a food truck festival and this truck happened to be there. I wanted to cleanse my palate of my savory meal with a little sweet treat and headed on over here. When I saw on their board they had a bourbon bacon brownie, I thought to myself that those were the 3 B’s that I needed in my life at that moment. I had been informed by one of the women working the food truck that the brownie had been a hot ticket that day, so I was getting very excited for this brownie.
Prices are very fair for their offerings, and they are more than friendly.
My brownie — potential, but not quite there for me to really give this more than 3 stars. I love bacon and bourbon, especially in my desserts, and I love a good brownie, and I was left a bit whelmed (not over not under, just whelmed). The bacon morsels on top of the brownie were probably the highlight as they had just the right amount of crunch, but I was left wondering where exactly the bourbon was because it really wasn’t coming through. It could have used a bit more — and by a bit, I mean a lot. If it was in the bacon, it could go a long way sneaking some in the brownie as well, and if it was supposed to be in the brownie well then I missed it altogether. The brownie itself, was very dry, which made it not as enjoyable.
Now the only other thing I would factor in here, it was a festival, they were on a food truck, I don’t know if they also have a shop and maybe in a shop under better temperature control — maybe this brownie would be delicious. So just factor that in with this review, as I am not saying they are awful, but my experience, was a bit more of a miss.
