The Fabulous World of Wacky and Tacky

I have been meaning to go to this store for a very long time but whenever I am in the area it is always past closing time. Well yesterday I finally got a chance to check it out.
It is a very interesting place for sure. It seems to be part art gallery, second hand shop and costume store? I’m trying to attach labels to something when it probably should not be attempted.
They have lots of Halloween decorations for sale, clothes, DVD’s, knick knacks, original artwork and much more! It’s definitely a quirky little place and staff is super friendly and fun! Definitely worth taking a peek into!

Let’s hear it for eccentrics and their enclaves! Joining the ranks of Tacoma’s odd & interesting is one Charlie Drown, I believe. She’s the proprietor of The Fabulous World of Wacky and Tacky.
Surrounded by gay bars, restaurants and car shops on South Tacoma Way, this shop was a puzzle that I’d drive by. Why are there giant mascot heads in that window? Why is there a mask with a wedding gown? What’s with the Gene Simmons mask and disco ball?
I drove by at 7:00 this evening and finally found it open — did a double take and almost got in an accident, turned around and hustled in here.
What I found: A very eclectic assemblage of Nightmare Before Christmas stuff, Living Dead Dolls, vintage kitsch décor and clothing and… other random stuff. I bought a bunch of old swizzle sticks from old local restaurants for 10c a piece and a Harry Potter fleece throw ($ 8) for one of my kids.
Currently 3 stars because there’s not a lot of inventory and the prices are scattershot — super cheap here, too expensive there. I will follow this store with interest! See more info at their facebook page:
