Worst Fish and Chips, 1st fish was cut in half so pieces were half of my co-workers fish, 2nd it was so greasy that was inedible!!! The paper that it comes under it was drenched in grease.

My wife and I went to the Ram last Tuesday, 5÷31÷16, and it was the absolute WORST experience I have had at a restaurant in my life. I was bummed, I grew up going to the Ram with my family and I always loved it. However, this time, we got to the restaurant about ten minutes to 9. We were seated and there was probably only 10 tables of people in the whole place. We ordered our drinks at 9 pm. At 9:20 we were concerned that our waiter had forgotten us so we asked him where or drinks were. He blew us off saying they were coming. My one beer didn’t come to the table until 9:45! Our main meals came at 9:50, And our appetizers were completely forgotten and wen we asked about them, he brought them 10 minutes later when we were already done with our food. I have never been so distraught at a restaurant that I went up to a manager, but I did this night. I went to confide in the manager and after I explained to him how bad everything was, he said, «I won’t cause a scene, I’ll talk to him once you leave. Have a good night.» No offer to compensate or apology for anything. Extremely disappointed in the unprofessionalism and lack of care from management.

I took my family there for an early dinner awhile back and had a bad experience. The food wasn’t what we expected, which is highly unusual for the Ram. We mentioned it to the GM, and he made the wrong, right. That’s why the 4 star rating for this visit. Mistakes happen, but it’s how they’re handled by decision makers that makes all the difference.

This was our first time visiting Ram(we had tried once before but the wait gets pretttty long on nice days). I was really impressed by the food. The Ahi nachos were delicious and I loved the reuben. My boyfriend got the French dip but didn’t seem overly impressed. Our server, Kim, was super friendly and gave great service. Where they fell short was in the front. When we walked in we were offered a seat in the bar but I asked for a table in the dining room where we could see the water. We were told that there was a table being cleared that we could have in a couple minutes and they asked if we would like to wait.(There were several empty tables throughout the dining room) 5 – 10 minutes go by and we are still waiting when another 2 top walks in and is seated immediately. I went up to the girl behind the desk(blonde– I think braces) and said«excuse me, we’ve been waiting for a table for quite a while now and those people got sat right away» and she and the other hostess(super tall, dark hair in a high bun) acted like they had no clue what we were talking about!!! After they both talked to us when we walked in and then studiously ignored us while they chatted away the ten minutes we sat there. There needs to be some serious coaching and/or restaffing in the front of house. Lots of people standing around chatting. And at one point the 2 hosts sat in a booth and talked for like 15 minutes! But, overall, the food and service was excellent and we will possibly return.

Good food and good service! Even on a Saturday for dinner we managed to get seated in the bar section within a few minutes of arriving. On the service: Our server was very friendly. We came here for a friend’s birthday dinner and he was given a surprise complimentary ice cream cupcake(we were seated in the bar and had to show ID, so they knew it was his birthday) which was awesome. There was a mistake on an order which came with onions after specifically requesting no onions– fairly quickly corrected though without hassle. On the food: I had the seared portobello sandwich with fries. It was flavorful, I loved the sauce on it. It wasn’t as large as the regular beef burgers of the same price but for 10.95 I feel like I got a decent meal. The fries were good also. Skin on and seasoned, not just salted.

We showed up on a warm spring evening and was told a 30 to 40 minute wait for a booth or 45 to 60 min for table or outside. Over an hour later still waiting… went and asked how much longer and was told 45 min to an hour! Absolute bullcrap! We complained and left, as we were driving away we got a text that said our table was ready! I used to love the Ram. Not anymore! The last few times we’ve dined at a Ram restaurant we were completely disappointed. We won’t be back for a very long time, if ever!

We always have really good service here, generally we only hit the happy hour but it’s one of my favorites around town. The view is great and so is the calamari, they also have a great bloody mary. My husband loves the beer selection and they are always fully stocked with fresh goodness… gotta go back soon.

Very unfortunate that a great local restaurant has gone downhill. I do not enjoy the shorter menu as it has eliminated some of the endearing dishes that paid homage to our area. Not only that, but the cooking time has gone up exponentially over the years. I recently went in, forgetting that about a year ago I decided to boycott them for their cooking time. It was an even worse experience than I remembered the previous trip. The waitress in the bar hardly could care any less about us. She never came by to check on us, fibbed about the lemonade keg being changed being why she didn’t bring one for 15 minutes. The order was on some incorrect number that caused our food to sit under the heat lamps for quite a while. There was 45 minutes between our appetizers and entrees. The potatoes Au gratin were burnt then practically dehydrated by the lamps, then the cherry on top was some sweet potato fries I didn’t order showing up and being on the bill. Holy moly, it was a 1 hour 45 minute lessen in patience that I don’t think I’ll repeat. Goodbye dear Ram.

The food is always great at the ram, customer service on the other hand is hit or miss. I’ll still always come here though because the food is so yummy

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I’ve never left a bad review but today, the service in this establishment was the absolute worse. As soon as you walk in the hostess was leaning back up against her counter with an iPad in her hand, apparently waiting for us to welcome ourselves. So we did just that, she then asked me for our party size and phone number. No smile, no «welcome to the ram», just a robot doing her job, mind you she looked maybe 18 and caddy. She said I should be getting a text and the wait is 45 minutes. Well that was a bummer but it’s a Sunday and it’s to be expected. As we waited I saw multiple tables totally empty but no one was being seated. As time went on I decided to see if we could sit at the unoccupied tables. The hostess looked at her iPad and said there are people waiting to be seated in those tables. Ok, great. I’m people, and I’ve been waiting. I have a feeling they could’ve literally filled up all the tables but then they’d be forced to do their jobs and operate at max capacity, God forbid that right?! About an hour goes by total and then we are seated. Incredible! Might as well have a computer check in only and minus the cute girl with zero charisma. Then at least you’d have some sort of efficiency. It gets worse! Right as we hungrily sit we ask if we can order right away since we had ample time to scour the menu. The hostess says to us that our server will be right with us. Ten minutes go by and finally we are half-ass greeted and we are asked if we would like some drinks to start off. We immediately say yes and appetizers and a meal too. We know exactly what we want and would really like to put our order in. The food we wanted to order was«86’d”-no longer available. We order something else, and that was that. 30 minutes go by, in the mean time got our drinks and waited. We stopped Ramon and asked how’s the nachos coming? It’s been 30 minutes. He than said something like«yea, about that… your nachos aren’t coming and neither is your burger. Both were 86’ed.» Seriously?! When was he gonna stop by and tell us? Ok, so we adapt and overcome. Mind you we are polite folks and only provide understanding smiles and pats on the back to this hopeless operation. We order something else and 15 minutes go by and our third order was presented to us. Zero complaints to the chef! Great job. Too bad there isn’t the proper amount of them. Good for the Ram, business is thriving and you don’t even have to try. People just flock through the door and don’t give a damn about how they are treated. I’d just suggest they step their game up in order to capitalize on their investment. Who ever manages this joint is definitely capitalizing on the Ram, that’s for sure. Order the appropriate stock and supply your employees with the proper customer service training. It’s 2016 and I’m amazed at what is still acceptable. Complete garbage. We still tipped %20 because we know you don’t pay anywhere near enough to your talentless employees.

Came here on one of the first sunny days of the season. We choose this place because of their outdoor deck seating facing the beautiful views of commencement bay. Arrived at 5:45 on a Saturday and the place was packed! Waited about 45 min for a table outside. Wished I had a hoodie as it was a bit more chilly on the water than I thought it would be. After being seated we ordered an appetizer which never came… well…it did an it was 45 min after ordering it and it came with our food. I will say they proactively apologized for the long wait and took the appetizer off our bill. Now on to the food… as vegetarians it’s hard to find a waterfront option that even has one vegetarian entrée. The Ram has a few options. None of it mind blowing but still a few choices. They had Mac and cheese, salads, three or so veggie apps. The best veggie option is their homemade veggie burger patty. They also have a portobello burger. No store bought frozen patties here! You can customize then with several buns, fry options, toppings etc. but this option can get expensive as they charge for a lot of their choices. The Mac and cheese was really good. Not too greasy or buttery. I got mine with mushrooms! Very tasty. We drank two of their beers, the porter and the 71 pale ale. They were very good but more of a traditional chain brew pub style, not too high %ABV or gimmicks like the trendy craft breweries offer. Overall, we would go back on another sunny day if we wanted a veggie burger and a beer but there isn’t much atmosphere other than the view.

Grabbing some lunch before a nice stroll on the waterfront to enjoy the sunny day in Washington… seasonal maibach that hits the spot as well to wash down the tasty burgers and fries

Good stuff: Ice cream cupcakes, service, and atmosphere Bad stuff: Too many TVs airing baseball and not enough airing soccer Came here for restaurant week so we got good food at a great price. Appetizer and entrée were alright(hence 4 stars instead of 5); the coleslaw tasted more like onions than anything else. The dessert was really the best part. Peanut butter ice cream with mini pb cups, swirls of peanut butter, and brownie bit. Excellent service from the waitress and manager as well. Would recommend to a friend that likes decent American food and big TVs.

This is a really good casual place to go out for an eat! They have a god variety of different plates. From famous(amazing) burgers to pasta and sandwiches! Every location I have been to has been quite large and we always find seating very quickly. The staff is very nice and professional but also are very lay back. I honestly recommend the burgers to be frank but I would say a well rounded restaurant. Oh and large bar is alway a plus!

I love this location because of the view. Service and food ruined it tho. We had our 2 young daughters with us and they were given free carrots and ice cream. So that’s nice but They forgot my soup I ordered with my salad but when I realized it I just asked for it to go. No they didn’t comp me my $ 3 soup. That pretty much goes without saying in the restaurant business. If you completely miss SOMEONES food you should comp it without question. Sorry, there goes your tip. I did still tip $ 2 on a 30 $ tab but I usually tip way better. Do NOT get the spicy Caesar. This was the WORST salad I’ve ever had. Two words. CHEWYCROUTONS. Wtf man. So weird.

I love that this place has good food with a casual atmosphere along a beautiful waterfront. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly to keep it nice and juicy. I hardly ever see Canadian bacon used being from California so it was fun to get that on the burger. The fries were also great. The red IPA is awesome if you like IPA beer This would be my go to spot if I lived here!

The only reason I am giving three stars is because of the amazing view they have on their deck. Beer was fine, although it took an awfully long time to be delivered. Service was slow, even after we moved into the bar area for a drink I ordered the cod with fries, the cod was large but there were little fries, I should have opted for a side salad or baked potato as my side

Food is good, about average to me. Been to other locations, but first time at this one. Ordered the Crabby Patty, since it was something I’ve never seen on their menu, and wanted to try it. I did like it, thought it was pretty tasty. Had the nachos for appetizer; it was your average nachos. We got to sit outside and it was a beautiful view. Service here was great!

Wanted a change of scenery and decided this would be a good location to celebrate a birthday. It’s right on the Tacoma waterfront with an outdoor patio and onsite parking. However, when it’s nice out, like today, expect a long wait for the patio and for your food. Our server was a bit off, in the sense that she seemed put off by the fact that some of our party put in orders before everyone else(they were kids) and the adults needed a few more minutes– yes we know the food will come out at different times. My mom ordered a piña colada and looked at her like she was crazy, and said she didn’t think they had that, well miss… its on the drink menu. The food was eh. We ended up ordering dessert and literally the first two things we wanted were sold out(mudslide, bread pudding) and then we settled for the brownie sundae, which took awhile to come out. Anyway, great views, lackluster service and average food. And of course, good beers and decent drinks.

This place uses an app to let you know where you stand in the wait line. It’s pretty cool, though you do have to download the app for it to work… I think. No matter, it was happy hour and the wait to sit outside was over 30 minutes. I wasn’t too excited about the dinner. I decided to come here because I’m here for business and the prices were reasonable. So I waited because it’s all about the view here on the bay. Finally got seated and had a Red IPA. It was good and a bit if a steal at $ 3.50 for a pint during Happy Hour that, despite my extended wait, wasn’t over by the time I got a table. Yay! The waiter was very nice, attentive and pretty much there whenever I needed him. So great views, great service… why a two star review? Well, the food was not good. I don’t know why I always feel a need to explain that it wasn’t bad, like nasty, it just wasn’t good. It was mostly nondescript. I’ve been wanting clam chowder. This wasn’t the place to give it a go. It was temperature hot, which means it came straight from the stove, but it had a film on it, like the top congealed quickly while being served. It was not gross, just odd. The flavor was more of cheese and potato than clam. I ordered the chicken and prawn sauté for dinner. Chicken & prawns sauteed with zucchini, red pepper, green onion and Hefy sauce. Served over fresh spinach. I remember reading this online thinking it sounded really good. It wasn’t really good. There were two large, thin pieces of chicken and three shrimp. All the veggies advertised were there, but the Hefy sauce… It had no flavor. The chicken had no flavor. The shrimp was good and I ate all three pieces, but I left most of the chicken. It tasted as though it was flavored with water. Nothing tempted me to keep eating. It was oily(not greasy, which is good), but truly flavorless. I definitely stayed within budget, but I was very disappointed. Seriously, Chicken & prawns sauteed with zucchini, red pepper, green onion and Hefy sauce served over fresh spinach could really be a fantastic, delicious meal. A little more finesse in the kitchen would make a huge difference.
