Branch Colonial House Bed and Breakfast

I was trying to help my friends who are from overseas to come to Tacoma for sending their son to the high school in Tacoma WA. I checked several hotels around Tacoma, but my friend told me that you should try out the B&B place in local. So I called Branch Colonial house one day, the owner Ms. Robin Korobkin picked up the phone call, and told me the price and discount she offered, also including the breakfast. I was so happy, and told my friends about the price which is a little bit cheaper than hotel (a little bit). My friends firstly decided to stay around 10 days. Two days before the arrival date, I tried to contact this B&B. However, no one picked up the phone call anymore at all. Believe me, no matter how many times you call, or leaving messages. Just no one cares to call you back and write to you the email (no matter how many times I requested to call me back or respond my emails). So I drove to the B&B and ready to pay in person. Or I should say reserve the room in person. I met this owner, she seems a little unhappy but still with smile. In the meanwhile, the other B&B called me back and invited me to visit first. So I drove another one to take a look, but I eventually chose «Branch Colonial House» for my friends. So I went back to look for Ms. Robin, however, she was out of the house, I tried so hard to call her more than 20 times in total. she just did not care to pick up the call. Her daughter said the only way to reach her is to call and write an email. So no choice, I had to book online, I actually wanted to ask questions clearly before I book. Otherwise they will charge the credit card if cancel within 7 days (that time I did not have 7 days from reservation to arrival date). I was disappointed but I still booked. The price I got later was higher than she quoted earlier, she then wrote an email said she did not expect 4 days which should be 10 days. and no more breakfast. I felt so bad. Just hoping my friends are OK with it. So we stick with this b&b, and did not cancel it because I was afraid of she will charge me with my credit card and not even notifying me. I was trying to communicate with this owner but obviously I was failed to reach her and communicate. This would be a very bad situation if you can not directly communicate with people who is doing business in the market in general.
So I guess I will not go back to this place. I rather want to go to the hotel where can find people to always communicate with you and resolve the issue if happens.

Living in Seattle with a fiancé born and raised in Tacoma, we actually drove by this place and admired it multiple times until we had the chance to stay over this past week end. Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. Nobody was there when we arrived, but the owners had given us a code to get in with specific intructions about what suite was ours, breakfast hours, etc… This place is absolutely gorgeous and made us feel at home right away (although we could not stop whispering for some reason…). Our room was impeccably made, and a nice bottle of red wine was placed on our desk upon arrival! I was sold! ;-)
We have been talking about Branch Colonial House to our family and friends, and will certainly return.
Also, another big thank you for accommodating my new vegan ways over breakfast! I loved what I had even if the English muffin egg dish on everybody else’s plate looked scrumptious…
