Zaxby’s

Soooo, finally writing a review for this Zaxby’s after, oh, only 15+ visits here. Obviously, i’m a fan of this location but not only because of the location to our house and the great tasting chicken, but also b/​c the service is so freaking awesome.
My honey and I both noticed this place had some earlier bad reviews, partly due to service, so whatever service issues they had before (we’ve yet to see any) are not at all present now. We had an issue one night at the drive through with the wrong sandwich given to us, and didn’t catch it until we got home. My honey called in, and they told us no problem, to just bring the receipt in and they’d get us another one on the next visit. Crazy thing is, the guy recognized us by our voice the next time we stopped by and got us the sandwich.
We always end up hitting the «happy service» button located by the register just to let them know we appreciate the extra steps taken. We always typically have somebody stop by and ask how our meal is, offer to bring anything else extra needed, and also they bring our food to the table when we are slow to get up there.
The bathrooms here are typically clean and so are the tables, so that’s a huge plus. If you haven’t been to a Zaxbys before (what planet are you on again?) then you’ll notice they have amazing chicken! The kickin chicken sandwich, regular chicken sandwich, and my fav, the wings n things, are all incredible! Their BBQ sauce is also very tasty … sweet and spicy! The kids always love their bread basket and the grilled cheese sandwich and chicken tender basket. They have a Coca-​Cola Free Style machine too, which I love!
This location is a must try if you love Zaxbys, chicken or great service!

It’s Christmas Eve. Daughter is home for Christmas from NY college and wants Zaxby’s. Zaxby’s online order was not working so had to wait for the food to be prepared. I get home and daughter tells me there is no extra sauce packet in her combo meal! Why is it that every time I visit this store I paid extra 25 cents and receive no sauce for her meal and yet I see the cashier handing out five Zaxby sauce packs FREE to a customer that came inside saying she also didn’t get any sauce??? I did receive a Zestable sauce for my onion rings which I substituted for fries and gave that to my daughter but she didn’t like the flavor. I should not have to open every box to check orders to see if the packet is inside. Sauce on the sandwich should not count at cost since no condiment package is ever given in take outs. Also, I was still standing at the counter after getting my orders waiting for the banana milkshake that wasn’t prepared until I had to show proof of receipt. Also I was charged more for the milkshake than what was listed online. I mentioned this price discrepancy to the cashier and was told that they don’t know anything about the online order pricing and wasn’t aware that it wasn’t taking customer’s take out orders. I can’t wait till the new Zaxby’s store open right next to my house. Maybe I will get better service there since I don’t have to drive so far to get my orders right.

For what Zaxby’s is, they’re fine. Adequate fast food. The chicken is good. Not as good as Chick fil a but palatable. To my surprise, the Caesar dressing had flavor. The portion was good. For almost $ 8.00 I got full on my chicken Caesar salad. When I think of chicken and fast food, chick fil a is the gold standard. Zaxby’s has some work to do if they want to overtake them. The service was fine, once again, nothing like Chick fil a, but I’d eat here again.

Zaxby’s is a chain and as such you have some better managed than others. Someone will run the Best and someone will run the worst. This location is one of the Best!!!
The counter and floor staff is always happy, friendly and pleasant to be around. I have been served cold food only once and received apologies abound! Routinely the food here is always Hot & Fresh! The portions are always fair and I get full.
You will not find a better Zaxby’s than this one!

So my boyfriend is a huge fan of this place, and he got me to try it. The service was excellent. Not sure if it’s because of my fellow Unilocalers reviews, but the service really was top notch. Enjoyed the food as well. They have one of those fancy soda machines where you can add any flavor to your soda of choice. I don’t drink soda, but for those that do, it must be good. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was good. The bun tastes fresh, and the chicken was moist. Only drawback was they don’t have anything but lettuce and tomato to put on it. My daughter had the kids meal, and I was disappointed they don’t have grilled nuggets as an option. They did say when I asked later that they can cut up a chicken breast for you. I did get to try their banana pudding milkshake. Nice and thick, and full of flavor, that was the best part. They also have this sauce called Zaxby’s sauce. Yummy! It’s slightly spicy and creamy, and goes well with everything. I’ll be back, if I can fit through the door after the super rich milkshake.

Great service and great food at this zaxbys. It is much better than the one down the street at the intersection of McGinnis and medlock

My 16 year old bought his usual, the wings and things plate (large) on a Saturday night. He became violently ill and was taken to the ER. I called the store and the general manager would not speak to me and the lady who answered the phone told me that I would receive a call. 2 days later I had not received a call and ended up calling and speaking the Manager on Duty who told me (nonchalantly) that she did her part by reporting it to corporate. This happened on Sat Nov 29^th and it is now the 10^th of December and they have yet to call me. Poor customer service. They lost our business. It is a shame because there is not another chicken place in the immediate area. I drive to Chick-​filet now to get chicken fast food. Do not come to this restaurant. they do not care about their customers!!!

Terrible service… It is a bunch of teenage girls who are talking amongst themselves and not having any regard for the customers, waited and waited inside to find out she had put in the wrong sandwich, and then had to wait for her to come back to tell me they would correct it which was forever bc the co worker girls were all giggling and talking about whatever not doing their jobs. Please RE-​staff

Terrible experience at Mathis Airport Road location. It was totally due to the person taking the order. The cashier tried very hard to help, but she also did not follow through with order. Won’t be back!

I place this Zaxby’s a step above other Zaxby’s I’ve visited. I feel like they get customer service. I visit often and every time, they are very nice and courteous to me and to every customer. «Yes sir,» «yes mam,» eye contact, big real smiles etc. Usually they will come around to my table asking if I need anything or taking my empty tray. A couple times they have brought my food to my table without even calling my number. Food is great and always hot and fresh. I highly recommend it. Keep it up guys!

we ordered the chicken tenders and they are so salty (too much salt) that we could not even eat it :-(
