What a nice little park! I visited Town Center Park for their Suwanee Food Truck Friday events they hold during the first Friday of each month, beginning in April. The park itself is kind of small, is surrounded by bustling traffic, businesses and City Hall just across from it, which may make navigating it difficult when events such as food trucks stop on in. For the food truck portion of this review, I the following trucks were on hand: King of Pops Cousins Maine Lobster Bustin’ Butt Hickory Smoke Bar-b-Que Yolis Street Food Grubbin’ Out ATL Heavenly Dolce Viet-Nomie’s Roly Poly Rolled Sandwiches In addition to the food trucks, live music was being played by North Gwinnett, Peachtree Ridge and Collins Hill High school bands. The lines to the food trucks were super long, with Bustin’ Butt and Grubbin’ Out being two of the longest lines(easily a 45 minute wait for both early on), but each line will have you waiting a good 20 minutes just to reach the truck(more time for food prep). This is likely due to the once a month food truck events. I was only able to make it to four of the trucks, so come in with a plan to catch the trucks you want to hit first). Combine the live music, foodies and people just soaking in the beautiful day, and you had a full house of folks. There’s also a very lovely fountain area where the kids are encouraged to play, as water shoots up randomly from different spots, so bring the kids! There’s no way around it… you will experience traffic trying to get to an event, regardless of which route you take unless you get in super early. In my case, I got about a mile away on Buford highway, and that mile took about 30 minutes to reach the park(I left at 6pm). Parking is hit or miss, and I actually encourage you(with big events) to NOT try to park at the actual town center park, because there’s not much maneuver room if you’re stuck in the parking lot with your idling vehicle. There are other lots a couple of blocks away, of which some are parking friendly, but please please pay attention to signs that list tow away zones or private parking only. It is a park at your own risk situation when you’re not at the town center park lots. I like Town Center Park. It’s not the largest, it’s not the quietest, but it really is a fun place to enjoy events, or just enjoying the park on a random«regular» day. If you’re in the area, I hope you stop in and check it out!

Not quite Mayberry Tonight we visited Town Center Park really for the first time. We have attended events at this park but was not really to experience it uncluttered and in its more natural state. The park is very open and a great place to let your kids run free,(under supervision). It has the ideal layout for kids who want to be able to play with their scooters, skates, bikes, etc. Parents will like the walkways for strolling about. If you are a serious power walker, you may not feel challenged because the walking path just circles the perimeter of the park. It doesn’t go off in interesting ways but it does offer you the opportunity to people watch as you walk. Directly across from the park, there are a collection of restaurants and shops. I was very disappointed by the lack of shopping options,(very limited). My husband and I wanted to eat at one of the restaurants, but they were not unique or exciting,(Five Guys, Mellow Mushroom, Ippolitos). Unfortunately, we were starving and had to actually leave the area in order to get something to eat. While this park is great for families and children, I would prefer something a little quieter with more appropriate eating and shopping options.
