Great Chicken, poor service and limited hours. Success makes this place lose the customer service attitude. It is a shame, because they did a very good job at 1st.

Stopped inside H Mart to shop for some fresh produce and then decided to have some lunch inside the foodcourt. Chose ToreOre. Food: Got the 7piece garlic tasty fried chicken($ 8.99). I was expecting it to be super crunchy Korean fried chicken. I was disappointed in the texture and crunchiness because it happened to have the«exact» same texture and crunchiness to that of KFC chicken(where the soft and sometimes soggy from the grease-breading falls off the meat when you bite into it). Aside from that, the flavor was good(got garlic fried chicken but did not taste any garlic flavor). Still good though, hence the 3 stars. Service: very nice and polite people here. Free water is available in small white styrofoam cups. Can’t complain. Overall: because I love food, yes I will continue to come here for the fried chicken. Yes I do recommend giving this place a try. If you want super crunchy Korean fried chicken then go elsewhere. It’s funny, but Ai Tunes(karaōke place) actually had some really, really amazing and deliciously super crunchy Korean fried chicken. That’s one of my many go to places for Korean fried chicken when I am craving it. Also thanks to Maangchi(YouTube), I have learned how to cook it too!

The chicken is really good, but I would be careful to not order the sweet and spicy chicken. It kind of made me sick since they use a lot of ketchup in the sauce. Either than that the Garlic chicken was good. ^^

I’ve had the Hot and Spicy chicken from ToreOre before(Chicago) which was delicious and super spicy. The one from here is not as spicy. It’s still good, but I prefer the really hot and spicy one from Chicago. Also, the chicken does not come in the red box like it’s supposed to. They serve the chicken in regular white styrofoam boxes. In all, I’d order from here again, but I would tell them to make the chicken spicier.

Picked up an order of their uncooked veggie and kimchee mandoo for our traditional New Year’s dumpling soup. They both were full of delicious filling and were very fresh. Can’t go wrong with their mandoo here.

Don’t forget about the chicken. I tried both Manduguk and Marinated chicken and I liked then both. Especially the chicken. Yeah, the chicken. The Manduguk is good and they serve us with hot pepper paste, kimchi, and danmuji which are a lot fresher compared to other restaurants side dishes served in food courts of asian markets. They cared about the crispiness of the chicken and i saw them marinating fresh chicken which seemed to be done in a CLEAN environment. The Suwanee chicken and the one in Johns Creek H mart was never as crispy as the fried chicken here. I believe it’s the fresh ingredients that makes the difference. They also make mandu and we all can see it from the table so I give them a credit for making food in a right way. I love this place and will comeback for that mandu and chicken.

Forget the fried chicken(which is pretty decent here), try their dumplings. They’re freshly handmade, and oh god their dumpling stew(jun gol) is the bomb. Reminds me of Korea.

I like this place better than cheogajip. Only if they actually had a store and not in a food court. The garlic one and spicy one is really good.

I love me some Yang-nyum Chicken just as much as anyone else, but the chicken breading and spicy-sweet sauce varies depending on who is cooking that day. Some days you go and the breading will be soft and the spicy sauce ketchup— the next time, the chicken will be super crispy and the sauce thinner and sweet with corn syrup. Either way, it is delicious and addictive. Keep in mind that you will be served a whole chicken hacked into about three inch pieces, then breaded and fried. So, sometimes each piece is difficult to identify between light and dark meat. We tried ordering the Garlic Chicken, which were very specific about, and were given the plain friend chicken. So, I cannot comment on the garlic chicken, like I was hoping to. My favorite, of course, is the spicy-sweet sauce. Skip all of the sides, and just get the chicken. We made the mistake of ordering platters last time, which came with rice and«salad.» It was a waste. While I tend to like some of the other Korean fried chicken places better, Toreore is more convenient to visit while you are shopping at Hmart and you don’t have to tip. Located in the Hmart Food Court and actually open consistently during normal business hours, and during all seasons. Unlike the Pleasant Hill Road location. For those of you that get gloves to eat this sticky chicken, you are lucky. We got a crazy-eyed look when we asked for gloves.

I was waiting in line for about 5 minutes before another customer got in line right behind me. Mind you, they clearly saw me coming up and wanting to order but decided to ignore me anyways. Finally a guy in white apron came up to the register, didn’t even bother making eye contact with me, looked straight at the other customer and asked what he wanted to order. The customer immediately pointed to me saying that I was first… so I looked at the customer and was like… OMFG, what kind of service is this? I was so pissed, but decided that I stood in line long enough, I’m going to order my food dangit! I’ve been wanting to try their fried chicken for so long, I’m not going to let this douche ruin it for me. Anyways, so I order the garlicky fried chicken. 8 pieces for $ 8.99 and 14 pieces for $ 14.99 or something like that. I couldn’t remember exactly. It takes about 15 – 20 min. before you get the order because they fry it fresh per order. The order comes with a side of pickled diced daikon. The chicken were super crispy, but I didn’t taste a whole lot of garlic in it. Also, they chopped everything into smaller pieces that would normally come in 1 whole piece at any fried chicken joint. So, a piece of thigh is chopped into 2, a chicken breast is chopped into 2 – 3 pieces, battered to the max and deep fried. So it looks like you get a lot for your money until you bite into it. It was tasty but could use a lot more flavor. You can’t put out a name such as «Garlicky» and not taste any garlic. BUT, it was super super crunchy and it wasn’t so greasy. I don’t care for the service but I’ll give it another try soon.

I’m loving me some KFC… Korean Fried Chicken(badabing)! Crispy as hell with a slightly sweet taste in the perfectly fried skin. The inside was ultra moist. I will say eat the chicken quickly; I found that in the styrofoam box the skin slightly steamed despite the whole cut in to the side. Well worth the 15 minute wait.

OMG! This chicken has to be one of the best I’ve ever eaten and that says alot! So far I’ve had the marinated fried chicken and the garlic chicken. The garlic one kinda tastes like a sweeter version of General Tso’s chicken. The packaging is great, but the chicken is best to eat right away. Although it is fried, its not that greasy, even when you come back to the surviving pieces later. I do wish that they would offer rice as a side though. When you go, be prepared for a wait. This isn’t KFC where they have rows of deep fried chicken under a heat lamp waiting for someone to buy them. It takes about 15 – 25 min. to cook, but so worth the wait!

ToreOre’s made-to-order fried chicken is ultimately a bit of a letdown. The menu here is pretty simple: choose from marinated fried chicken, sweet & spicy chicken, hot sweet & spicy chicken, garlic tasty chicken, marinated chicken nuggets, or spicy chicken nuggets. Everything is fried to order, so while you should expect a ten-minute wait, your food comes out fresh and piping hot. I’ve only had the marinated fried chicken, which runs $ 6.99 for seven pieces and $ 13.99 for fourteen. Other flavors are sold at a small premium($ 7.99 for seven pieces and $ 14.99 for fourteen). It all comes with pickled radish and a vaguely ketchup-like dipping sauce. But while ToreOre claims that their fried chicken is «marinated,» I’ve found it to be some of the blandest I’ve ever eaten — the meat is incredibly dry and flavorless. And while prices might seem reasonable at first, be prepared to for some seriously small pieces of chicken. I ended up appreciating the packaging much more than I did the food; take-out orders are neatly packaged in fancy, vented boxes proprietary to the franchise. Of course, since ToreOre is located in the Suwanee Super H Mart’s food court, there are plenty of tables and seats on which you can choose to dine in. But given the wealth of other options in an average Super H Mart food court, I’m not sure I’ll be back.

I touched on ToreOre in my Suwanee Super H Mart review, but came all the way back to H Mart just to eat at ToreOre again. This place deserves its own review. I can’t believe it had only three reviews before mine. ToreOre is known for it’s delicious Korean double-fried chicken. There is one other location in the Atlanta area(that I’m aware of), at the Johns Creek H Mart. You can order the chicken to eat there in the food court or get it to go. If you order the chicken to go, they package your chicken neatly in a special box with lined with tissue paper(to soak up the grease) and handles. The box is designed to keep your chicken crispy. ToreOre chicken starts at 10 pieces(wings and drumsticks) at $ 6.99. You can mix and match different flavors, even for orders as small as 10 pieces. The restaurant offers the regular«marinade» fried chicken, sweet & spicy chicken, garlic tasty chicken, marinade chicken nuggets, and spicy chicken nuggets. The chicken is served with a small container of pickled daikon and sweet ketchup. My favorite flavor is the garlic tasty chicken. It’s packed with a ton of flavor. The skin on all flavors is extra crispy. Your fingers will get oily when eating this stuff. While the chicken is oily, it’s not as greasy as you’d expect. The ladies working at this location are really nice. One time, one of them gave me a ToreOre magnet clip for my fridge. The chicken takes at least 15 minutes to prepare as all orders are cooked-to-order. You may either want to call ahead(770−932−9517) or place your order and get some grocery shopping done instead of waiting. Since it comes straight from the fryer, the chicken comes to you super hot. I can’t say this stuff is healthy for you, but boy is it tasty!

The chicken wings are plump and juicy, jumbo I might add. The price is awesome! The wait… well, it isn’t McDonald’s fast. But it’s worth it. I’d give it 5 stars if they had lemon pepper wings… the standard by which all chicken wings would be rated. Alas, they had garlic wings. No ranch or celery(It’s KOREAN stoopid!) As long as you have a pack of mint gum afterwards, you are good to go!

Great to have some tasty quick chicken fix. I would try for multiple flavors. There’s also a lunch special with fried rice.

Since we’d already made the trek to Suwanee to check out Umaido, we decided to check out ToreOre’s Korean fried chicken, too — doing a copycat of what Kit F did after his Umaido visit :) ToreOre is located in the Super H Mart food court. According to a press release, they use«never frozen» fresh chicken that’s been marinated for 12 – 24 hrs w/a special flour that’s mixed w/5 different grains — brown rice, black peas, barley, millet, and they didn’t mention the 5th grain. So they say it’s «very healthy» fried chicken — hahahahaha :) We were full from dinner so we got just a small order of the«marinated fried chicken» for $ 6.99 which included 7 pieces. The chicken is fried to order so you do have to wait — but it’s worth the wait. As soon as it came to our table, we were all saying how it smelled like funnel cake — it really does! The meat was perfection, tender & juicy, maybe even slightly sweet. It wasn’t Bonchon but it was very good. Next time I’d like to try their hot sweet & spicy fried chicken, and their garlic fried chicken.
