Elite Event: Moondance Lounge

Great first event! This is the first Unilocal event I’ve gone to since moving here. I’ve never had food brought around to me or the bartenders asking me if I want refills. Really great event. Nice to have an event where Im not fighting over bartenders.
Plus side, they didnt charge us for the vodka redbulls like in cali.

This was my very first time attending a Unilocal Elite Event. Since I have not yet reached Elite status on my own accord (ahem — hint, hint), I was lucky enough to be invited as a guest of someone who has achieved Elite for 2012.
The event was well-​done, with drinks, food, & fun giveaways. It was so great to meet the lovely ladies of Unilocal Atlanta, too!
Moondance Lounge is a hidden little gem OTP in Suwanee. While I don’t head out that direction too often, the event was well worth the drive and this is a place I’d go back to. It has a fun vibe, with live music and a dance floor (requests can be made — so fun!)
I had the Napoleon, which was the highly recommended vegetarian dish. It was super tasty — the sauce was to die for! To make the evening even more special, our group of five had the pleasure of meeting both the owner of the restaurant, as well as the chef who had prepared all of our delish food! A great time was had by all!

This was my first time attending an Elite event, and it was so much fun! I was fortunate enough to meet a lot of very fun people!
The appetizers were fantastic. The barbecue sauce they served on the kabobs they were serving– I’d gladly drink it. So good.
The restaurant itself was great, and appears to be a great place for a special occasion. The interior reminded me a lot of the décor in the dining room of cruise ships– Swanky, low lit, and fun!
I’m glad we stayed for dinner! I had the Shrimp and Grits, and boy, were they good! Usually, shrimp and grits are typically cheesy, but these were spicy– And I loved it! We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and chef after we had dinner.
It was a trek for us, but I’m glad I made the trip. Can’t wait for the December event! See y’all soon!

I was invited to the Moondance Lounge in Suwanee by Unilocal for their Unilocal Elite event. The Moondance staff was very attentive to our needs bringing plenty of appetizers and quick to refill the drinks. The atmosphere was fun. There was a great turnout and I attended with a friend of mine Nick. We met several people and shared many laughs. Special thanks to Heidi P. for reaching out and inviting me. She was very professional and pleasant when we met her.

I had so much fun at this event! A definite plus was that this place is super close to home!
The food was delicious and the drinks were good and dangerously smooth! I’ve never heard of Nawgan before but instantly became a fan of the strawberry kiwi flavor. The servers and bartenders were super friendly.
Congrats to Heidi P. and thanks to Kathleen and the rest of the awesome Unilocal staff for yet another great event!

What a great event at Moondance! I was able to meet and talk with a lot of Unilocalers I normally don’t get the chance to hang with, had awesome drinks (thanks to Status Vodka, Red Hare Brewery, and the fantastic bartenders), and delicious noms from the kitchen including chicken kabobs and tempura shrimps.
Overall I thought the experience and the event were awesome!

After a very long drive (worth it!), my two very hungry plus-​ones and I found Moondance for the very first OTP Unilocal Elite event. Classy place, nice understated décor, and super nice staff. There was plenty of food and mixed drinks, and a great showing of Unilocalers! I had a great time, met some cool folks, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next event. Yay Heidi!

Once in a while when you go to a restaurant you get to meet the owner. Last night not only was she there but she helped clean up spilled water from our dinner table. Thanks to Heidi P. I was too busy playing Unilocal O to taste the free food! 5 of us stayed for supper after the event. The server was friendly and attentive and the chef, Todd, came out to say, Hello.
We enjoyed the live music and watching couples dance.
I shared mussels to start. They were fresh and the perfect size to scoop up the garlicky cream sauce they were served in. The vegetarian napolean was my choice for the main course. Although not a light dish it was delicious and all of the flavors of each individual veggie was kept in tact. A round of applause to Unilocal, the entire staff at MOONDANCE and all of the friendly Unilocalers for a special evening.

So there I was wondering on the Tuesday afternoon, who else would I know at this elite event? Didn’t hear much from anyone talking about the event itself so I was surprised of the amount of people that came out.
Made my way to the heart of suwannee (which is pretty far for me, but it’s ok, it’s for Heidi) and as I was arriving, was pleasantly surprised as Tom E and Michelle K came at the exact same time! Man, at least I’ll know of someone there. But once you walk in, Kathleen and Monica greeted our «party group» — their words, not mine.
Event was really fun, great time to see some old faces and some new news. Got to finally meet the lovely Heidi L (who by the way… STILL got my name wrong even after my fun fact) But it’s ok though, I still love you.
Vodka at the bar and nawgan at the ready, bartenders delivered drinks that were pretty tasty. The food that came out was good, I want some more of that shrimp that circulated around. Yum.
All in all, great time, great event. Shout out to the Heidi, Kathleen, Stephen the photographer, the waitstaff at Moondance and of course the manager there for hosting all of us. Can’t wait to see you guys next time!

So what if I’m not OTP? I crashed this party! Wooo!
Well, showing up with 30 minutes left isn’t quite a crash, but the place was still packed with Unilocalers having a great time to the very end! I got to meet Tom E. and Jim O.- two very fine gents, hug my Empress and Monica S., have a drink with Charlie B.‘s natural vitamin elixirs, and gawk at the fact that they were still bringing around appetizers sporadically at the end!
I’d say this is a great start, dear Heidi P. I can’t wait to see what else I can crash in the future!

Tonight was the first time I’d ever eaten at Moondance — WOW is all I can say. We had the muscles — OMG!!! The sauce is to die for! Then we had Veal Parmaigan — it was simply wonderful! The drinks were good, dessert was great — nice vibe — I will for sure be going back!!!

Had a wonderful time meeting new faces and seeing friends come out to meet and congratulate our new OTP Unilocal manager, Heidi P.
As Tom E. wrote, It was great to see our Unilocal empress, Kathleen M. and Monica S. from Miami, FL. I would have never discovered Moondance Lounge if it wasn’t for this very special event. According to my GPS, I live less than 10 minutes away.
The food was plentiful and delicious. They had two massive bowls of cold penne pasta which included olives, parmesan cheese, and italian seasoning. I have a weakness for «anything pasta» so it hit the spot.
Servers were also walking around with delicious chicken kabobs with the best BBQ sauce I’ve tasted in a while. Outside of Sweet Baby Ray’s, Moondance’s version rocked. I asked the servers if they carry them on the menu and unfortunately, the chicken kabobs were specially made for tonight’s Unilocal get together.
A shout out to Charlie B. for the super refreshing drinks from Nawgan and the folks at Status vodka for providing us with liquor. Not a beer fan but friends told me that the Red Hare lager was not too shabby.

Heidi P.: Your speech was short and sweet and to the point! Nice! It was lovely get together and looking forward to attending more of your events in the future.
It’s been awhile since I attended an Elite event but after tonight, I realized how much I missed them!

So tonight marked a night in Unilocal history: Unilocal Atlanta OTP (Outside The Perimeter for the uninformed, here is a map to give you an idea–
Anything outside of I-​285 is OTP…) hosted its first official Elite Event (I didn’t make it to Red Sky, so it wasn’t official, OK, I am KIDDING) at the Moondance Lounge, which just recently had its one year anniversary.
The event started at 6, and thanks to my poor planning (and my helicopter wasn’t working), I didn’t get there until around 6:30. What are the odds my friends Duc and Michelle showed up at the same time! Parking is sparse up front, but thankfully, there was plenty in the back (thank you, signage).
Being greeted by the lovely Empress and Monica S, I knew off the bat, this would be a great time. As we were checking in, we got a piece of paper with tidbits of info that Unilocalers put down at the time of signup, and it was up to us to find out who each one was. I thought that was a great way to meet people and find out more about people. Of course, mine was «likes to keep drink filled». The one with the most names correct got a prize.
The restaurant was open to the public still, but the way the place is setup, we had the bar to ourselves (there is a main dining room, a dancing room, a patio, and the bar– which is in the rear). The bar was nice– dimly lit, but not too dark, lots of liquor, and dark woods. There were also 2 TVs for whatever (what was on TV? I was having too much fun talking to people) your fancy.
Status vodka and Red Hare lager were the drinks of choice, along with Nawgun (Charlie, did I spell it right?) — a cool ass energy drink procured by the legend himself, Charlie B. The very friendly barstaff kept the drinks coming– which may have made it easier for people to notice what my «tidbit» was.
The food was plentiful and looked wonderful, however I did not get to try any.
I got to see lots of new faces and old alike, I had a wonderful time talking to everyone. I also had the pleasure to meet the new OTP boss– Heidi– she was awesome!
All in all, it was a great night not only for me and my friend (s), but it marked a special moment in Unilocal as well. It was a groundbreaker for what is to come for a new part of Unilocal– and honestly, I am glad and excited to be a part of it moving forward.
Thank you ladies for making such a wonderful evening! If I didn’t have to be at work in 3 hours I would have most definitely stayed to eat– as they were having a 2 – 1 special on entrees for Unilocalers tonight!
With that being said, I cannot wait to come back and try this place.
