Anselmo is an excellent, and friendly technician. I called just before going in and ask for a quote and was told 70, I was surprised and asked how about doing it for 40? He asked if I have the coupon, and replied yes. I had a coupon for 20 off, and he said he can do it for 40, but confirmed the year and that it was a passenger car. I asked if there was a wait, he said no one was there, and I arrived in less than 5 minutes and pulled right in. Was done in 15 minutes and they even checked the air in the tires. Discounted 30 off from the original quote. Fantastic!

Make sure you ask about the $ 28.95 + certification fee deal (older model cars may not have the same deal)! I called a couple of hours beforehand for a quote, brought my car in, and was out in 15 minutes with a certification sent to the DMV, as well as a paper copy. The man who serviced my car was extremely friendly and polite, and I would highly recommend this place for a smog test.

Had to waste an extra morning to sort out a smog check. When I arrived at the Bureau of Automotive Repair state referee service appointment, he looked over the paperwork that I had showed the Quiksmog technician and cocked his head saying «[the quiksmog tech] really denied you over this?»
Turns out that all catalytic converters manufactured and installed before 2009 were grandfathered in. I even had paperwork to prove professional installation in 2002 (which I had showed to the Quiksmog tech). Referee smogged and passed my vehicle in 15 minutes the way it should have been done.
Quiksmog… if you’re going to be a stickler to the letter of the law, you need to KNOW the letter of law. Learn to do your job right and don’t waste my time making up for your ignorance!!! 0-​star worthy.

I needed to get a Star test for my 1983 small pickup, and this was one of only about 6 such stations in a 10-​mile radius. With the coupon offer on their web site, their quoted price was the best of the group.
The shop is clean, and Anselmo was quick, courteous, and thorough. He even phoned the Bureau of Automotive Repair and got an OK on my after-​market catalytic converter when there was a question about whether it would satisfy the rules in the official book. (Emissions were clean; there was a technicality about GVW.)
I’ll happily refer other people to this shop.

Wish I had not gone to this place. By the way, it cost $ 41.75 with a $ 20 off coupon if your car fails the smog test. It costs $ 8.25 more if your car passes.
My car failed because I had recently changed the battery and the «Catalyst» wasn’t ready yet. The guy was very vague about what to do about that… maybe drive on the freeway for a while. And, a retest at this place is not free, 50% off of their wishy washy pricing system, but definitely not free. For the retest I will be taking my car to a place in SJ that charges $ 29.95 and includes retesting for free rather than pay basically that at Quik Smog.

Anselmo, the owner/​operator of Quiksmog, is the best. I’ve been taking my car to him for smog checks for the past five years and he has given me excellent service every visit. I’m very particular about my cars and usually work on them myself to avoid careless mechanics even touching them. That’s not possible with smog checks, however, so I’m happy I’ve found Anselmo who has treated my cars with the utmost of care. I’ll be going back to him for years to come.

Went here for a quick smog check. Taran was nice and very efficient. Got a Unilocal discount — make sure to mention Unilocal specifically to get the discount. The place was a little hard to find but just look for signs for «Quik Smog» in the parking lot and you’ll find it. Overall, a fine experience — as much as you can expect from a smog check. :)

Fast, efficient service. Half an hour before the place closed, I pulled in for a smog check, but the line was a bit long, and I needed an oil change, so I pulled into the oil change window and got that done while I waited. A bit pricey, but very fast.

ANSELMO fixed my problem. If you come here, make sure Anselmo is working. Despite the run-​arounds, Anselmo took care of me and my vehicle and I am a happy customer.

Firstly the technician and his assistant were courteous and have a smiling face. Not the typical rude people i have seen at other similar shops.
Secondly, I paid $ 38 as I called them before going there and that was the quote given over the phone. Of course when I reached the place, I was given another quote for $ 70. But when I mentioned the conversation over the phone, they obliged. Again very courteous.
Finally, I got out of the place in 15 minutes as if I went there for a car wash. I was waiting for the other customer to get out and then placed my car there. It was immediately checked and I got out.

Very nice place. Went at 6.30. No wait. In and out in 15 mins. Courteous staff.

I visited Quiksmog for my standard smog check, based upon locality, and overall rating. Anselmo assisted me, wrapping up the test just short of his Tuesday 7pm closing time.
The smog check was flawless. No claimed need of repairs.
My only regret was the price.
Smog Test: $ 61.75, Certificate $ 8.25, less $ 20.00 online coupon.

I went to an Alameda County smog test location two years ago, and this is my only vehicle. Therefore, I do not have enough personal data points to determine how this pricing compares to that of other test stations.
Regardless, I appreciate the politeness of Anselmo, and the ~15 minutes it took to complete the test.

I called to make sure they are open. When I asked for the cost, he told me about some offer and told that it would be $ 37 including certificate… I was happy bcoz couple of blocks away lozano was going to charge me 50. I didn’t ask for the technician’s name, but he was super polite and very courteous… I got in n out in about 10 – 15 mins… quick indeed.

Drove down from North Sunnyvale today partly because of the glowing reports here and partly because of the $ 20 coupon on their website, which clearly states they are open Sunday until 4 PM. Arrived just after 3 PM to find the neon lights glowing and the front door locked tightly. Walked over to the convenience store side and asked the clerk where the smog guy was. Smiling, he said «You will never find him here on a Sunday.» Great job, Quiksmog. Welcome to my list of «won’t ever come back here again»!!

I took my Pathfinder to do smog check on Sunday morning (yes, they open on Sunday), and my old truck has a little problem to pass. The technician, Steve, turned on his laptop and googled for me the problem, and explained in detail what the problem is and how to get it fixed. I could not do it right away so I left. I got back after 5 PM and he was waiting for me after the close hour, and re-​did everything and it passed. Along the way we chatted, he was very knowledgeable about cars, and explained the difference in engine types and stuff, and what a humble, nice person he is! BTW before I went there I printed online coupon, but he said he will apply the other one which gives deeper discount! Honesty is not an everyday virtue you can find in this business, and he made my otherwise tiresome Sunday so pleasant. I wanted to tip him, just not sure if that is an insult so I did not do it.
He is a skinny guy in mid-​age, I am not sure if he is the owner or just work there, in all regards, I will give 10 stars if that is available.

I was running an errand on my lunch break next door at Chase and boy was I happy to see this Smog service next door as I needed one asap for my cars registration. Looking at the place I was thinking it would cost a lot, I had a place in mind in San Jose later today for 40.00. I called before I went and the guy, who was pleasant, said they were having a special and it would be $ 40 out the door. It was music to my hears and I headed over. I pulled in and the same guy I spoke with on the phone quickly helped me. He was really nice. I was in and out in about 15min. Highly recommended! I would call ahead because I’m unsure how long this special will be for.
