Leyla Hanson, CPA

I have been a client since 2011. Unfortunately her rates have gone way up and I have had problems with her subordinates (twice) not being able to read financial statements and had me come into the office (two times) only to show them the information (cost basis) was right under their noses.
My taxes were delayed because they could not figure out the new consolidated tax form from one of my financial institutions.
You now have to make an appointment to finalize your taxes. Leyla no longer calls you to finalize your taxes.
She still provided better services than Storek, Carlson & Strutz CPA as I hear they now charge $ 500 for similar services.
After receiving her itemized price sheet I am looking for another CPA that will take better care of me that is worth the price.

Yes same problem as the other Unilocaler. Can’t reach the woman went elsewhere. This is not rating her abilities as an accountant but the service or lack there of due to inability to contact her/​her hours are very limited.

My old accountant went missing in action this year after agreeing to do my 2010 corporate taxes. In search of a new CPA, I looked on Unilocal and found Leyla. After meeting with her and her staff, I decided to have her do my 2010 corporate returns. What a great decision! After a thorough review of my 2009 taxes, she determined that they needed to be amended. I had formed a corporation in 2009 which then purchased another corporation in a stock transaction. 2009 was the first tax return and my old accountant had made numerous errors.
Leyla sifted through all of the stock purchase paperwork, the old corporation’s returns and my Quickbook files and prepared an amended return. Then it turned out that my previous accountant had not e-​filed the 2009 returns (?!). Leyla converted the amended return to a regular return. But wait! The Federal return had been filed (IRS provide me the wrong info) but the California return had not been. What a mess! Leyla cleaned up the 2009 mess and then got my 2010 return quickly completed and filed. Her professionalism was impressive and she was exceptionally enjoyable to work with. She never requested any additional fee for the many hours of extra work she had to do even though it would have been justified.
Her fees are reasonable especially considering the quality of service she provides. My only regret is that I didn’t find her about two years ago. It would have saved me considerable money and many headaches.

We just recently started with her for our small corporation. This is our first year. Her service is good. She explained many things clearly and even very knowledgeable on the quickbooks side and even set some things straight which was pending for years unnoticed by my other old CPAs. Easy to converse and explain issues. All in all it was a good choice for us.

I left two messages to speak to Leyla. I still haven’t heard from her.
Her front desk isn’t helpful either.

Leyla is awesome! She is so fast and efficient. I’ve been going to her for a few years now and even with me moving out of the area, she’s so quick to help via email and fax. My taxes are literally filed within two days of me emailing her my W2s. I even got a discount this year for being a returning customer. I’ll continue to use Leyla for my tax returns and refer her to my friends.

I probably have about as difficult of a tax situation as one might imagine — Multiple businesses in multiple states (some making money some losing money), buying and selling of these businesses, rental house in a different state, disillusionment of a registered domestic partner, and a few other weird issues that don’t fit cleanly on tax forms. For 3 years now, Leyla really has been a my tax angel for both my business and personal taxes. She walks through each issue with great knowledge and attention to detail, makes great suggestions, runs multiple scenarios, follows up quickly and efficiently, and is a true pleasure to work with. I don’t even dread tax season knowing she is my go to tax gal.

Leyla is a very caring CPA. I went there for a free consultation DURING THE TAX SEASON! The service that most of the CPA don’t offer.
She was very sincere and friendly and give me some advice on how to proceed with my small business. I definitely recommend her.
