These guys don’t get 5 starts from everyone for nothing. They are so professional! My wife’s file cabinet won’t unlock. Brought it over to unlock it in the store as it costs less this way. the guy who unlocked the file cabinet was so patient and took the time to unlock the file cabinet gently. He even duplicated a new key for no cost and help me to put the file cabinet back in my car!
I second what previous reviewer wrote: You definitely walk out feeling taken cared of. They will definitely be my go to place from now on!

Foster’s is great! Had a problem with front door handle set and the serviceman was able to totally fix the existing lock. I thought I had to buy a new lock or door but it’s all fixed now. Service was great at the store and the home technician was knowledgable and service oriented. Highly recommended!

Foster Brothers is great — I highly recommend them.
They have EVERY key and are fast and courteous to work with. I have been here SEVERAL times because I work in property management. I can get all of my requests met at the shop. Skip OSH, CVS, etc and go straight to Foster Brothers for any of your key/​lock needs.

i have a keypad lock. I went into 3 lock smith and the final one refer me to them. They duplicate the key and only charge for 6 dollar each !

I live in an Eichler house with original 60-​year-​old locks, and needed a couple of extra keys. They are completely unobtainium anywhere else, but the keys I already have came from Foster Brothers and they still have these blanks right in stock. Five minutes, four bucks a key, and I was on my way. I’ve heard this is the best locksmith shop in the whole area, and I agree.

I bought a motorcycle that came with a Givi topcase that had only one key. It’s a tiny key that I was afraid to lose, so I wanted some backups made. Even though they didn’t have the exact key blank, the person at the counter copied my key onto several blanks that were similar and let me test fit each one. We found one that worked, and I’ve been using the copied key with no problem for two years now.

I had to get a tricky key made for one of our office cabinets and they were so helpful and kind over the phone. I came in to give them a sample of what the key looks like and they were able to do it in less than 5 minutes!

They’re fast, nice, and affordable. I had a motorcycle key cut here for my Honda. They carry blanks without the Honda logo (I’m fine with that, especially since I’m sure that makes them less expensive.) The guy behind the counter eyed my key, said «I’ve seen that» and hunted down the right blank from their huge wall of keys. Clearly, they know their stuff. 5 minutes, $ 6 + tax, and I had a spare key ready.

I got a couple of keys made here the other day for a screen door with an odd sized key. They made a couple of versions for me to try because the key manufacturer doesn’t use a standard key. The key worked and they did a great job.
I am also in the market for a safe and the man spent quite a bit of time going over needs/​pros and cons of different options with me.

I had one remaining key for a ’97 Honda Prelude with 210k miles and wanted to get some extras made. This key has a transponder. I did a little research online and found that what the dealers want to do is a complete reset of the key memory in the car and reprogram the car to accept all the keys you have in your possession, and charge you hundreds of dollars to do so. That is if they don’t try to sell you a whole new ignition system since you don’t have the magic red learning key.
I didn’t need any of that, just wanted a couple of extra keys. So I ordered a couple of T5 blanks online and figured I’d get a local shop to cut and program them. I found Foster’s here on Unilocal and called. They said they couldn’t guarantee working keys because they use a specific blank that they know works. But I took my blanks in anyway and for $ 15 they cut and programmed one to try it out. I would have thrown it away if it didn’t work and gotten one of their blanks cut and progrtammed. But… it works perfectly! Got the other one done the same way. 10 minutes, $ 30, and I have a new pair of keys.
I should have just come here in the first place. It would have been $ 25 each for their blank, cut, and program, even slightly less than what I ended up paying in total.

Need an copy of your car transponder key? These are your guys, and they have the lowest price I found in the South Bay. Don’t pay an arm and a leg at the dealer. My key was seriously worn after being used on a car with over 200K. It took a little extra craftsmanship, but the Foster brothers were able to make a working copy of my transponder key. Now I have the peace of mind of not having to worry if I lose my car keys somewhere. Thank you Foster brothers.

The best I’ve ever used.
We have used Foster Brothers exclusively for our multi tenant office buildings in Palo Alto for years now. As you can imagine, we use their services frequently, and often times with rush jobs and delicate security issues. Their service, pricing, and quality is the best I’ve ever seen, and we have experience with a number of vendors.
In commercial use, any issues with product quality, poor customer service, or lack of knowledge/​experience shows up pretty fast. To date we have never had a single problem, not even a bad key, and that says a lot!
I use them for my personal residence as well, and could not be happier with their service. I heartily recommend them and hope to see them get your business as well, as they deserve it.

Hubby came here to get a copy of our car key made and to buy a new lock. The gentleman working there was very nice and knowledgeable. The key my husband brought in was an old, worn duplicate. Both he and the man working there were unsure if the copy would even work. It only took the man a few minutes to make the duplicate key and asked my husband to try it right away. It worked perfectly on the first try!
The whole transaction took under 10 minutes. This will be our «go to» place from now on when we need any keys made. Plus, the selection of locks are very high quality and built to last. As good as it gets!

Went in to copy a key for my bike (Kawasaki Ninja 250). Done in less than 10 mins!

Did key replication twice there. The blank key were hard to find. But they did it patiently. The price is so reasonable (or unreasonably cheap). It may very well be one of the last honest classic small businesses in Silicon Valley.

I purchased a used vehicle which only came with one key. The dealer wanted $ 185 to cut and program a new one since it has a transponder. 5 Minutes at Foster Brothers and I was out the door with a working key and saved myself $ 100. Can’t beat that.

This was the best place to come. I called a few places around here and this was the best deal. I needed spare keys for a filing cabinet. Other places wanted to charge me close to $ 30 a key while this was affordable and about $ 11 for two keys.
The service was good and they were really nice. I came int, it took about 7 minutes and I was done. I’ll be coming here for all my lock/​keys needs.

This place is awesome – awesome ppl and awesome service! It’s actually kinda outta the way for me, but all these 5 star reviews told me it’ll be worth the time. Turns out it is!
Long story short, it turns out that my lock is a little old so the first and second key they made didnt work (i tried it out right outside the shop). But one of the staff just kept working at it and insisted that he’d get it to work – and after a couple minutes, boom problem solved! and with no extra charge!
I’ll definitely come back here for any key/​lock problems! you guys are awesome!

The people here are great. They do great work. I almost hate to bring down their average rating by writing «only» a 4-​Star review. They are excellent, but lack the extra spark I look for in a 5-​Star review.
They are friendly, helpful, and, if you are regular, remember you and your account when you walk in. The only downside is the _​slightly_​out of the way location and exterior appearance… neither of which would cause be to go elsewhere because of their quality of work and customer service.

There’s no bee-​essin’, this place deserves all the 5-​star ratings. Shame on me if I even start changing the trend.
They’re fast (faster than it took you to park — and parking is never difficult), courteous and cheap and they have A LOT of keys! Lol
Foster Brothers — your ‘rents raised you well.
My only place to go for locks and key duplication!
