Coffee is good and walnut pastry is ok but not near premium. The shaved ice products looked abundant and the large servings seemed good to share for 3. The place needs some acoustic panels, it gets very noisy even if there’s just one table being loud.

Quiet, relaxing and refreshing, CocoHodo is a great place to do work if you’re working from home or need a quick drink or pastry. My walnut allergy prevents me from accessing the finer foods of the place(they have walnut pastries that look insanely good, but I can never try them. Cry), but I’ve had their coffees and smoothies. Their smoothies were really good! Yogurt based, I tried the original, Berry and Matcha smoothies(matcha was one of my favorites). Their coffee is great as well. The place is nicely furnished, with new tables and chairs for doing work or just chatting with your friends. Overall, it’s a nice place, though I wish it had more food items than just one pastry type(regardless of my allergy).

I would say this place is good to go to if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t really go out of my way just to get what they’re selling. Cocohodo is located in the same strip center as the Han Kook supermarket. When I went I ordered the ice blended matcha latte, the matcha yogurt smoothie, and a bag of the red bean walnut pastries. The ice blended matcha was good, but I felt had a taste you could find at any other coffee shop around the bay. However, the matcha yogurt smoothie was unique! The yogurt gave it a slight sourness that made it oddly pleasant. The walnut pastries were good, but I could only eat one or two before I got tired of it – maybe i’m just too used to the crispy exterior and chewy interior of taiyaki that having something all soft and one texture bored my tastebuds? I dunno… :P

Minus one star from my previous review just because the drinks here are never up to par. They’re always too sweet, too watery, or just meh. Haven’t had anything good to drink for my past few visits. their matcha green tea latte is EXTREMELY sweet. I can’t take the sugar overload on that one, yikes. one sip and I didn’t want it anymore. It’s a great place to study because it’s never busy compared to Tom n Toms and Big Mug. I go here when I don’t wanna deal with the crowds. Overall, for their drinks, this place gets a 2⁄5. For their walnut pastries, 4⁄5! They’re known for those.

Been on a coffee spot grinder in the recent weeks. Going around and chilling at different spots to get some work done. Stumbled upon this on Unilocal while looking for an alternative for tom tom as it was jam packed! This place is never usually crowded it seems but there is a steady flow of customers at times. The tables here are spacious with outlets and wifi to get work done. The drinks here come in mugs if ordered for here and the coffee drinks are decent. I like the peaceful environment that this spot has and the restrooms are also kept clean. I spend hours here and it really does provide a productive environment. I would also suggest getting the walnut bakery pieces which they are known for… Really unique tasting. Will be back to grind some more work for sure!

Probably the worst customer service I’ve ever received at a coffee shop. First, when ordering my drink, I was charged 50 cents more than the guy in front of me. And the guy in front of me ordered the exact same drink. The cashier was also quite rude for no good reason. After 10 minutes, my drink still wasn’t done. I asked one of the baristas and she said«We’ll start making it.» You should have started my drink 10 minutes ago. While the inside of the store is clean and offers plenty of seating(and the drinks are good!) the terrible customer service means I won’t be back.

Sooo I thought this was going to be a fancy hipster coffee shop with baristas who can educate me on coffee, and I was in the market for a new bag of beans which is another reason why I try out different coffee shops. Anyways… this was just another bubble tea/PMT spot that happens to serve coffee. It was swarmed with high school kids studying, and the baristas were high schoolers too(nothing against high schoolers, just setting the tone for the spot). The inside is nice and clean and well decorated. However, I was planning on getting some work done and the wifi is terrrible. So I ended up just leaving after paying $ 6 for a sea salt latte what was overly sweet even though I said unsweetened.

I am in LOOOOOVE with this place! It’s a really nice/homey café with great coffee! I came here twice on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon and it gradually got crowded. There are a lot of customers who would stay behind to chat or do homework, so it’s not exactly your stop-and-go type of café. I ordered the iced Sea Salt Latte, which is basically milk, 2 shots espresso, then topped with sea salt cream.($ 4.95) * I think the to go cup gives you more than the mason jar. since the jar looked relatively smaller than the to go cup. Although I could be wrong. If anyone ever had 7leaves house coffee in SoCal, this is another dupe of it. They’re also known for their walnut pastries, which I thought it was good but not something I would crave for. Definitely recommending this place to my friends!

Who would of thought such a small pastry could bring so much happiness. Got the 9pc walnut pastries and divided it equally btwn my husband, my cousin, and myself. To wash it down we got the sea salt coffee and green tea latte. The sea salt coffee was ok. It would of been a nice touch to sprinkle sea salt flakes on top the drink to actually have a sea salt taste. Nonetheless paired with the walnut pastry it was beautiful. The green tea latte was good too. Tables were dirty when we arrived so we cleaned it ourselves(no biggie). Cute atmosphere, but to see employees just gathered in the back mingling instead of keeping the front clean is a big no no. I wish they opened one up in SSF I am craving these little morsels as we speak.

I have seen his place before in SoCal! But just never had the chance to try it out. My mom wanted some kind of red bean paste cake and she found this spot with her friend the other day. She introduced this place to me and we went. The place is inside a Korean plaza with korean food restaurants and market. The little café is known for their walnut cake with red bean paste inside. Prices is affordable– about $ 14, you can get 30 pieces of those yummy cakes!(XL size bag) I am content with this little snacks and they also offer drinks like coffee and latte inside here. There’s tables and chairs in the café for you to sit and talk while you enjoy the snack/drinks. Next time I come back I’ll try out their drink menu! There’s plenty of parking spaces. I will definitely try this if you like red bean! :)

A friend mentioned this place a couple of weeks back on a recent shopping trip in the area, and we decided to stop in and check it out. Service was friendly by the cashier, and we accidentally ordered two medium bags of walnut pastries(not reading the menu boards carefully) and a couple of drinks. Everything came out quite quickly, and the pastries appeared moderately fresh in the early evening. I found the pastries tasty but quite oily and sweet. I’ve had other walnut pastries in the past in the LA area, and they were quite savory but still satisfying. My plum tea was again on the sweet side(compared to other plum teas). I would probably go with a regular coffee drink next time. I do love the mason jar drink set up – it is quite a welcomed upgrade from many of the local coffee shops that just hand customers paper cups. There was ample seating available around 8PM on a weeknight.

The sea salt coffee was just ok. The cocohodo things were tasty! You can’t buy the cocohodo things individually. They come in bags. But you choose how many you would like. And I even got to sample one before placing an order. I like that they are not overly sweet. Cute shop to hang out. Conclusion: Why not?

What a cute spot to meet friends. The actual product of Cocohodo is pretty unique to this business, but not the only product around to taste this way. Come in, order a minimum of 9 for $ 4.75 and they’re individually wrapped. Quite dainty, but not something I would regularly get.

My friend and I were trying to figure out where to hangout and we found this store. To be honest I am NOTIMPRESSEDATALL. We ordered some coffee and the pastry and in my opinion I could spend my money elsewhere with best product. The coffee itself its blend. Usually when you taste your coffee, first you can really smell the coffee itself. The richness and the flavor will come to you naturally then as you drink the coffee, you should have the aroma stay on your palette. But no, the coffee taste like water for some reason. As for the pastry, the red bean paste and the dough itself were blend without taste. To be honest, I am not sure how this place operate since their coffee taste like water and their pastry it blend. Do they even taste their product before providing it to the customer?

Love their fresh and warm walnut pastry. Place is cute, small, and clean. They also serve coffee and other items… only downside is they close early…9pm!

A matcha cream flavored walnut pastry sounds really good right now. The mashed red bean treat Cocohodo’s known for is smooth with at least two chunks of walnuts on opposite sides in case the texture gets redundant. It’s tiny cute and shaped like an actual walnut shell that’s soft, similar to freshly baked egg puffs. The little café itself is a good place to unwind with a cup of coffee and a few walnut pastries. Free wifi. Combo A consists of a coffee and four pastries while Combo B has two coffees and nine pastries. Rock Paper Scissors to decide which one of you gets the fifth. Kind of disappointed they weren’t making any pastries behind their glass wall. They must’ve had enough in the back to fulfill most orders that afternoon. My red bean puffs were still served warm though. I bought a nine piece small bag for $ 4.75 and a nicely gift wrapped mini box with twelve for $ 6.75. Twisting all of those individually wrapped goods must be tiresome. My non– alcoholic mint mojito was refreshing but probably not worth $ 5. Nice ladies work in the shop and wrap up gift boxes so neatly. Before you know it, at least two pastries will disappear from the bag. Give it a try if you’re in the area.

Me — «Bestie, I want dessert now that we’re done with dinner» Bestie — «What do you want for dessert?» Me — «Anything.» Bestie — «Cocohodo, its only .01 mile away» Here we are, at this place that I have no clue about. They apparently served walnut pastry that is shaped like a walnut and has red bean filling inside. Nothing special about it so I just wash it down with a cup of tea.

I was craving dessert after dinner one night. I didn’t want ice cream, cookies or chocolate. After a Unilocal search for desserts, I found out about these walnut pastries at Cocohodo. I hopped into the shower, then into the truck, headed down El Camino Real, all fresh and so clean, stoked for my foodie adventure. El Camino Real is chock-full of strip malls, so we entered a few of the wrong ones. «Make a right in 300 feet?» So it seems I’m not a good judge of distance. Good thing I’m not a pilot! I had a huge dinner, so the dessert craving was mental, not physical. The struggle is real!!! I ordered the nine piece small snack bag of individually wrapped pastries, $ 4.75, and a 12 oz. decaf drip coffee, $ 1.95. The dessert really hit the spot. The mildly sweet pastry is filled with red bean paste and a walnut half. It could make a good hostess gift for people that like semi-sweet things. If you want a nicer presentation, they offer a gift box option. The coffee was a bit watered down, but smelled pretty good, like hazelnut? The cashier said it might be from Clutch Coffee, but she wasn’t sure. The place is really cute. I took a few photos to share with you. The chairs are comfy, yet modern looking, but I forgot to take a photo of those. I liked that they weren’t hard plastic chairs. Sooo many places have hard plastic or wooden chairs. They also have free wifi. It’s like they actually want you to stay and hang out! Yaaasssssssss!

Two words: walnut pastry! YESSSSS!!! I’ve heard such great things about this place from fellow Unilocalers and I was so excited to get to check it out during Thanksgiving weekend. For those who don’t know, Cocohodo is known for their walnut pastries that involves a delicious red bean mousse with a piece of walnut. Oh, and bonus: it’s in the shape of a walnut! I really liked it’s not overly sweet and pairs quite nicely with a caffeinated beverage. Although I got a small order(9 pieces for $ 4.75), I should have gotten a larger order because I practically inhaled it. If you’re in need of a treat, I highly recommend this place. Now go get some!

Found this dessert place since I was around the area. I’m SOOO glad I did! The place thats popular for their Premium Walnut Pastry called Cocohodo. Cocohodo is this walnut shape pastry with red-bean paste filling and a walnut piece inside. This is not an overly sweet pastry which is good for people who don’t like that for dessert. Definitely reminds me of a taiyaki which is a Japanese fish-shaped cake with red bean inside. I got the small bag which is 9 pcs for $ 4.75 which was not enough for me. I didn’t want to share it. They’re given in a bag individually wrapped to keep them warm. They also have gift boxes that would be great for a party or a gift. Mini boxes(12 pieces) for $ 6.75 Handly Box(15 pieces) $ 8.2 Mini Medium Box(22 pcs) $ 12.00 Small Box(36 pcs) $ 18.50) Medium Box(56 pcs) $ 26.75 Large Box(84 pcs) $ 36.75. Reasonably priced! I recommend this be eaten fresh! I also got their green tea latte. Perfect for this cold weather. Not too sweet. I really love their décor. Great atmosphere. I’m definitely hooked and will be coming back for more!
