A Dependable Moving Company

As if this what not enough, Rafi continued to harass me for money, on my work email, even long after I paid. He threatened me in an email — «you try to avoid to pay, but you will pay.». I just don’t know how to get him off my back.
STAY AWAY FROM HIM.

One of the rare occasions that I was misguided by the Unilocal reviews for this business. I moved many times within the bay area and this time was by far the most undesirable experience.
The Goods:
Rafi is a fairly prompt in his communication. Gave me a reasonable hourly quote (definitely not the cheapest in the town). Gave me good references upfront. Arrived on time and took decent care of most of my stuff. Did not charge for double drive.
The Bads:
Said he has a truck, but showed up with his trailer. Spent quite some time parking this trailer in an ideal position at the source and destination addresses. Remember, this time is all billed to me. Overall the move was very slow and I saw the guys procrastinating a lot. To the point that me and my family had to jump in and start moving things ourselves save us time. During his initial communication Rafi had mentioned that he is responsible for any damage to the furniture. They did break a furniture and when I pointed it out, he said he is not responsible for particle board furniture! I hate it when people go back on their terms of agreement. To his credit, he did try to glue the furniture to fix it. We had taken a lot of effort to label all the boxes for where they should be kept, but still found Rafi and his men asking us where to keep every box they brought. This delayed things further. Lastly he charged me for the tapes that he used to pack some of my boxes. I have had movers in the past and no one charges for the tapes!
Conclusion: Even though he has great reviews, I wouldn’t use his services again.

Rafi and his team were professional and courteous. They were on time and were productive, making it an easy move for our family. Rafi has great tips on stuff within the house, and gave me pointers on tv installation and removal.
I would definitely use Rafi and highly recommend his team.

I used A Dependable Moving Company for a second move. Both for my first move and my second move, the owner, Rafi, was very polite and courteous and made the moves go very smoothly. More specifically, here’s why I’d recommend them:
First move:
— When I called Rafi, he offered to come by my house to give me a free written estimate.
— At the appointed time, Rafi showed up right on time, and the estimate he gave me was very reasonable.
— After I hired him, he showed up on time on the appointed day with three other guys.
— They spent all day moving the contents of our 4BR house. Seriously, they showed up at 8am and didn’t leave til probably 8 or 8:30 at night.
Second move:
— I contacted Rafi and he was available to help me move. He didn’t come out to give an estimate, but he told me it’d be a little more than my previous move, which made sense, because I was moving from a single-​story house to a two-​story house.
— He and his crew worked from 8am to 8pm to move me and my items.
— They were polite, respectful, hard-​working, and courteous.
For both moves, they:
— Wrapped the doorjambs to protect them
— Put down protective carpeting to avoid scratching the wood floors
— Wrapped all furniture in protective blankets
— Disassembled beds and reassembled them at the new house
— Brought wardrobe boxes to transport items hanging in closets
— Moved all items, including boxes, containers, bikes, outdoor patio furniture, grill, etc.
They didn’t damage any of my items and worked pretty hard throughout the whole day.
I found them to be hard-​working, courteous, trustworthy, and a good value, so I’d totally recommend them for moving help.

Got moving help from Rafi’s service a couple of years back. At that time he did not have a Unilocal account to review. Good to see a Unilocal business.
Very good price quote. Best part is that I dont have to rent a truck. He gets the truck.

Just used this team (Rafi) and company. Great work. Fast, reliable, punctual and so well mannered and polite. The movers were very careful with packing and wrapping all the furniture and were so careful in taking it through the new house and careful on the wooden floors etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED…

This would have been the most pleasant and stress free move in my life.
We moved a 2 bedroom amount of stuffs from San Jose to Sunnyvale and it was pleasure working with Rafi and his team. I woul call them again for any of my future moves. I am putting the down the points I liked about them .
1) First of all they came 10 minutes before time. enough to have a good impression.
2) The people were enjoying while working. They always had a smile in their face while moving stuffs.
3) They were very confident on what they were doing. We had a tread-​mill which was the main cause of concern for me. But they moved that very efficiently and confidently.
4) They did not take any more time than whatever they were supposed to take.
5) They were very cautious in moving delicate stuffs.
I would give them a 5 star rating.

I choose this company after reading their reviews on Unilocal,but I want to share what happened here so that people can make a sensible choice.
1. Movers showed up on time +1
2. Started packing Leather Sofas immediately in a blanket without wasting time (+1). We found out that they trusted the blanket too much, and still managed to scratch sofa (–1)
3. Rafi was very freindly and gave a good quote (+1). He kept on complaining how he misjudged the items and asked for $ 100 more (–1)
4. Owner came to master bedroom and tried to move california king size mattress and sprained his back in first 5 minutes (–1), after 15 minutes, he decided to continue the move (+1), but didn’t get any help, which slowed down the pace significantly (–1)
5. Owner kept on mentioning that he has to miss an appointment as our move is taking too much time (–1), where as he spent almost 1 hour on phone while his crew was working.
6. Crew was hard working, Truck was clean, They took care of dissassembling and assembling all furniture (+4)
I will still say that Rafi and his team did an overall good job.

Very professional and experienced movers. Price was reasonable and no damages what so ever. We used them to move really heavy furniture that is expensive as well. No hidden charges or pay me first and then I move types of tricks. I am glad I used them and I would recommend them to anyone. I am glad I used them and I would recommend them to anyone.
