This place permanently closed in mid-July 2015. Was decent. Tuesday and Saturday special was $ 1 slices.

This place has been steadily improving since it opened a few years ago. While the pizza certainly isn’t «destination pizza» it’s the most consistent and best value for money pizza in Sunnyside. If your not in Sunnyside already however it isn’t worth a special trip. The key to success here is to basically ignore the rest of the menu and only stick to plain or pepperoni pizza here to limit the disappointment. I’ve also found that their pies are better than their to go slices.

I’ve only had a few items on the menu(buffalo wings, chicken parm hero, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers) and I’d have to rate that a strong 3 with the wings being a fair 4(even though they’d been declining because they started using less buffalo sauce). But my overall rating is a 1 being left open for a ZERO if it were possible for their HORRENDOUS service. The last 4 times I ordered from them they kept delivering later and later. When I called in the 2nd to last time because 35 mins passed and I never got the confirmation email they told me they forgot to even turn on their Seamless. The last straw was when I ordered and still hadn’t received my food after 2 hrs. I called after an hour and they assured me that it was out for delivery. After another hour I called and the driver had already gotten back but I still was without my food. At this point I began to tell the guy on the phone that this was unacceptable and they’ve been getting worse and worse. He replied that he could send it to me right then and I asked would it take 2 hrs as well(I was upset and very hungry at this point) and he replied, «Well if you gimme an attitude you won’t get anything». Real classy guy! I would NOT recommend ordering from this place as they may forget your order completely and who wants to wait forever for barely better than mediocre food?

Food is good. Usually get delivery from here for lunch which is fast. I’ve gotten the pizza, chicken Cesar salad, and wings with fries which were all pretty good. Pizza is better than most of the places around the area. Cesar salad dressing is homemade and tasty. They give very generous portions.

I ordered a sausage and onion pie for delivery at 7pm on a Friday via the seamless app. Pizza was pretty standard. Nothing to complain about, but nothing exceptional. What was shocking was that I had a pizza at my door by 7:15. I’ll be ordering again with the hope that delivery continues to be this speedy.

This place isn’t too bad. It reminds me of a «New York style» pizza joint I used to frequent as a cop back in Chicago. Generally I don’t like thin crust, but my partner had seniority so we ate where he wanted. They have deals on Tuesday and Saturday for $ 1.09 and it’s a steal. I’ll be honest, the Spanish specials(rice and beans, etc.) threw me off. Back in Chicago, a pizza joint was just a pizza joint. Rice and beans? No thank you, I’m from Chicago.

Overall: great, tasty food; fast service and cheap prices. I usually order from Verdecchio’s once a week and am always very happy with how fast the food arrives. Ironically, I don’t order pizza from here very much but I’ve had a few different slices and they were all good. My favorite things on the menu that I would recommend to pretty much anybody: Chicken fingers; French fries; Cucumber & Feta salad; Pecan breaded goat cheese salad and the eggplant parmigiana sandwich. The honey mustard sauce that comes with the chicken fingers is ADDICTING — I always finish it to the last drop. The fingers themselves are fresh, hot and just right. The French fries are the thick diner styled kind(my faaaay-ve). They are seasoned really well, with a little bit of Cajun spice but not overwhelming. If you are in the mood for a salad, a light and refreshing choice is the Cucumber & Feta salad with mint dressing. It runs $ 5.50 and often my go to if I’m not terribly hungry. I always add a little bit of balsamic vinegar to the mint dressing and the salad is just divine. The Pecan breaded goat cheese salad is another delish option and an interesting mix of flavors as the dressing that comes with is a mango chutney. Love pecans, love goat cheese, love mangos = Yum. The only thing that I’ve had and would not recommend are the zeppoli. They weren’t hot and did not have enough powder sugar for my liking. Otherwise, everything else on the menu is pretty great and low priced. With fast and friendly service, you really can’t go wrong.

Was craving baked ziti with a great deal of cheese and a friend suggested I give them a try. Not only do they basically let you order how/what you like, price was great, they deliver and the portion was huge. It was not greasy or gross the next day and totally hit the spot! So glad I finally tried and will most definitely go back again.

Ordered take out from here from GrubHub, and the food was pretty good and delivery was pretty quick. The food was also piping hot(for delivery) and fresh. I ordered a Pepper and Sausage Hero which was just so jammed pack with meat I couldn’t even pick up the sandwich without it’s contents falling out and on to my plate. For dessert, I had tiramisu which I loved because it was fresh and made in house and wasn’t pre-packaged. The verdict: My next feeling for Italian, I’m ordering it from here.

Considering there is no shortage of pizza in Sunnyside and the countless pizza delivery joints in adjacent neighborhoods, it’s easy for places like Verdecchio to get lost in the shuffle. Pizza wise, there isn’t anything ground breaking happening here, but that said, they have succeeded in other parts of their menu where the competition simply has not. For starters, they offer daily specials. One day it’ll be a cream of anything soup and the next day pizza by the slice is a measly $ 1. There are topping specials as well, but it totally varies by the day and whatever their dry erase sign tends to say. Since I sense a majority of their customers rarely eat in(or even knows what the place looks like frankly), it might be time for them to begin utilizing Facebook /Twitter. I’ve tried a lot of their pies, from simple one topping pepperonis to a meat lovers or all veggie version. All of them were adequate, but far from mind blowing. I think the real winner are their pastas. They only have a few options, mainly linguine and penne, but the various combinations have tasted surprisingly fresh and not overly greasy. A pesto linguine with sausage is a clear favorite here and the chicken parm is definitely solid. The extra star comes from their always pleasant service. They’ve been a real stickler to being timely with their deliveries and have been good for my in-dining experiences as well. Somehow, they manage to keep the spirits as bright as their nearly all white interior. If there is anything unique about this place, it’s most likely the name. I won’t forget it, even if I constantly misspell it.

Ordered here for the first time and not impressed. The pizza was meh… get a much better/tasty pie at Sunnyside Pizza! The buffalo wings were soggy and greasy.

*This review is for the non-pizza dishes* I’ve tried a couple of their pastas and all have been fresh-tasting, solid portions, and would definitely order them again. Their caesar salad is probably my favorite thing there though, the dressing is homemade and delicious!

Since I keep seeing this place get slammed for not having the perfect slice, I figured I’d give my take on the place as someone who orders dishes instead of pizza. I usually order from Verdecchio’s around lunch-time at work if I’m in the mood for something a little tastier than a regular slice or deli sandwich. So far, this place has been great. The first thing I ever tried from them were their baked spinach ravioli, which I still love to this day. I’ve also really enjoyed their shrimp linguine with garlic and herbs, which was delicious and filling without being too heavy. Today I had their grilled chicken over penne with pesto and it was great. Be sure to leave the bread they send with your order for the end, so you can use it to soak up all of the amazing flavor in their sauces! All in all, maybe not the best place to get a slice in Queens, but it’s dishes are certainly a cut above the rest and very reasonable considering the portions you’re given. I think they deserve four stars instead of three.

As anyone who lives in Sunnyside knows, it’s difficult to find a good pizza. After trying them all I think Verdecchio’s in the best. I usually order a pepperoni pie and their pecan crusted goat cheese salad and both are delicious.

Don’t know if this will be my last time ordering since no one in the neighborhood can do a decent job with breakfast (unless I am ordering a Mexican breakfast, which El Rey De Los Tacos Makes A DELICIOUS breakfast, but it is $ 9, and be REALLY ready to eat, or share it because the portion is HUGE). I just ordered a simple Bagel & crème cheese… as reading all other reviews they are very stingy with their product… there was a scrape of crème cheese… The fact that I had to go into my bagel to add some Jelly to make it not taste so dry is pretty sad. I called them just to let them know and the cashier, NOT the usual cashier guy who is VERy friendly(he has hair, long and wears a hat,) this guy had a shaved head, and was super rude and his response to everything was«Well you’re not going to get a bagel for 1.90» Well ACTUALLY for .20c more I can go across the street and get friendlier service, unless the other cashier is there attending to customers. We’ve ordered other breakfast from there, ex: Bacon Egg, cheese… and even then… the cheese is lacking! its barely scrambled into the egg… Such a disappointment. So thanks to this smart mouth cashier you guys get a bad review. Thanks for your service. And as for Pizza… I definitely would go up to SUNNYSIDEPIZZA on North Queens BLvd &40th, not they have GOOD pizza, and FRESH toppings

Ordered three slices of pizza from Verdecchio which for some reason took over an hour to be delivered. When it finally arrived it was definitely not fresh slices and one of the slices was folded on top of itself. Super mediocre food, typical fastfood pizza joint. Not worth anyones time.

There were good reviews, so I came in here. The pizza was completely forgettable and not even worth finishing. It’s just a typical crappy fast food pizza place.

Best pizza that I have tried in Sunnyside/Woodside. The sauce is very flavorful and the crust is perfect.

They get 4 stars for being the best pizza in Sunnyside. Not the best in NYC, but so far it’s the closest to Manhattan-style, thin crust in Sunnyside. They are having a special where you can get a slice and a soda for $ 2. You can’t beat that. Crust is crispy, but the sauce could use some garlic. Definitely not greasy like Sunnyside Pizza. I’ll be getting delivery from Verdecchio.

We decided to try Verdecchio after seeing two positive reviews online. We ordered a large two topping pizza. Delivery took about 40 minutes. Overall the pizza was ok. The crust was crispy and the sauce had a lot of flavor. Unfortunately the toppings we ordered were lacking in flavor and quantity. The vegetables were not fresh(frozen?) and for $ 20 we certainly expected more than a few randomly scattered pieces. They offer quite a bit of variety on their menu(Italian entrees, burgers, quesadillas, breakfast) and the prices seem very reasonable. We will definitely try other menu items in the near future.
