The pizza here is always consistently great. And I find consistency to be a huge factor when deciding on a place to go to. I always recommend this place.

Sunnyside pizza is the best. Im not much for specialty pies but this guy and his wife use the best of the best ingredients. The buffalo chicken pie is great, nice chunks of chicken, great blu cheese not some cheap dressing, the buffalo sauce is hot. The meatball pie is fantastic, no lumpy meatball, sliced like cold cuts, quailty meatball used, the sausage pie isnt sliced, its ground sausage, incredible! Garlic slice is perfect. porky pig pie is a meatlovers dream, bacon, ham, sausage, and his sausage rolls are over the top, huge, stuffed to the max. Mom and pop shop. Cant be beat, really nice owners, very pleasent hard working people. The best pizza in the area, too bad they dont make sandwiches, but if they did id be 300lbs. Thank you sunnyside pizza, i hope your here and the ever developing neighborhood doesnt price you out like its been doing to so many other buisnesses

Hands down, possibly the best pizza in the neighborhood. Small location with limited seating but their pizza is amazing — tomato sauce is very flavorful and their crusts come with sesame seeds. Nice touch to it guys. They’re a little pricier than most pizza shops around the neighborhood but also the freshest. Try their barbecue chicken pizza & margherita slices — those are my top two faves.

Wonderful house slices with chicken, ricotta, red sauce and mozzarella. Epic meatball slices. The white slice was amazing. Are you seeing a pattern here?

I used to live in Sunnyside and I would go here all of the time. Now I’m a bit further down the 7 line but go out of my way to come here. The sesame seed crust you get at sunnyside pizza has no equal! And the garlic bread slice is extremely tasty and I have yet to see it at any other pizza places! Sunnyside pizza has a special place in my heart.

It’s been a while since I had tried this place, to be honest the first time was not that great so I didn’t go back. My friend and I wer feeling lazy to treck too far so we Unilocal-ed and Sunnyside Pizza was pretty high up there in the rating so decided to give it another try. We chose whatever looked good. I didn’t realize the pizza I had tried was called garlic bread pizza(until I just saw the caption on one of the pictures here) but you don’t have to know the name to see and taste all the garlic topping it. Whoa, GARLIC-! I loved the crust, it’s pretty perfect. This will now be my go to NY pizza place. There’s only few stools so don’t plan on going with a big group to enjoy your pizza here. take it home!

The amount of time, money, and calories I have squandered trying to find the perfect pizza is a daggone shame. Especially when Sunnyside Pizza has been relatively near me all along. This is hands down the best slice in NYC. The size of the slice is perfect: big like our NYC mouths. The cheese is tasty and stringy, the sauce tangy and delicious, and the dough crispy and hearty(no soggy, floppy pizza here). The kicker is the sesame seed crust. You wouldn’t think such a subtle ingredient would make a difference, but how much better are sesame seed buns on burgers? I also love how MUCH sauce they use. Unlike most of my fellow pizza fanatics, as far as I’m concerned, the sauce is the most important part. It must taste good(I despise sweet sauce) and there actually must be some under the cheese. What Sunnyside Pizza does is brilliant. There’s more and more sauce as you eat it. So when you get to the middle, there’s just an explosion of tangy goodness. The owner is amazing. A very nice old school Italian guy with a thick NY accent, making your pizza experience even more authentic. With only four seats in the place, you’re almost forced to grub in NYC style: taking your pizza to go and eating it while you walk. If you can’t do that, you’re not part of the club. Thank you Sunnyside Pizza for keeping authentic NYC pizza alive!

Perfect eggplant pizza with a sesame seed crust. Yes, perfect. The other stuff is only near perfect. Ask for the garlic bread pizza if you dare! PS: The staff is super friendly, but they WILL bust your chops.

My god do I miss living 3 blocks away from this place. Like any good New Yorker, I am a picky asshole when it comes to pizza, and it’s with that perspective that I believe Sunnyside Pizza to be one of the very best pizzareias in the five boroughs. I brought my dad, who tossed pies throughout his teens and twenties and is possibly more of picky ashole about pizza than I am, to Sunnyside Pizza and he freakin’ loved it. This place is what a pizzareia is supposed to be: it’s tiny, it’s hot in the summer, and the pizza is divine. That crust, though. Oh man. Who knew sesame seeds were the secret ingredient to the perfect crust? P. S. The garlic slice. OMFG.

When I first realized that the *best* slice of Pizza in NYC, and perhaps the world, was in Queens… after spending years trawling through Brooklyn and Manhattan looking for it… I was a little angry. I was hurt. I was self-harming. I was purging. I was considering committing myself actually. I often am. But then, over time, I learned to see the«Funnyside.» What to get: Garlic Bread Pizza Slice What else: All their slices are good, but get the one I just said, trust me Why should we trust you: Umm… Say something that makes us trust you: OK. Come with me if you want to live. Oh! That’s Arnie?: NEIN! So will you buy us a slice?: NEIN! How hot do you think you are, out of 10: NEIN! And, how many inches do you like your nails to be?: NEIN! Will you bite the hand that feeds you? Will you stay down on your knees?: NEIN! Originally when I thought they just sold Pizza, they were my 2nd fave spot in NYC, behind Luigi’s on 5th in Brooklyn. But when I found out they also sell eggs, I had to move«Sunnyside Up» to number one! Get it. Eggs. Sunnyside up. Never mind. Seriously though, this is my *favourite* slice in New York City and one of my five *favourite pizzas* in the entire USA and I do not say that lightly because I f**king love pizza, and I f**king love NYC Pizza, and have probably tried well in excess of 200 of the top rated slices in the region. Specifically, as mentioned, you need to get yourself the Garlic Bread Slice. I’ve tried others from here and while they were nommably nomtastic, they did not hold a candle to the Garlic Bread Slice. I can honestly say I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. It’s thicker than most NY slices, and much wetter and juicier. The tomato sauce is rich and heavy. The cheese is used sparingly and that just makes it all the more enjoyable. The crisp crust is awash with a plethora of sesame seeds which wouldn’t seem like something I’d want… until I bite into it and realize that I’m orgasmic in my foodpants. As an aside: I used to side with Cher in terms of who the victim was. But now that he is gone(RIP), I can definitely see«Sonny’s side.» And of course, best of all, there is the garlic. What the French call a certain«Garlique.» What the Spaniards call«Garlicia.» What the Italians call«Garliccimo.» What the Germans call«NEIN! NEIN! DASISTGUTYAAAA!» Oh wait that’s what my German friend said in my bedroom last night. And what the Romanians call«oh my f***ing sh** it’s Garlic get the f*** out of here we’re gonna die, vampire brethren.» Yep. Masses. And masses. Of f***ing garlic, people. F*** yes. Now I’m not some guy that is obsessed with garlic(otherwise I wouldn’t have so many boyfriends, I mean girlfriends, okay fine I mean both), but on this slice it works so well that it makes me dream of putting it in my mouth(yes still talking about the slice) for months and months on end. I suppose compared to Astoria and Long Island City, some might say this neighborhood is on the«Slummy-side» but forget that. If you’ve been to Detroit, West Baltimore or East Buffalo lately, Queens Blvd is paradise. And this pizza slice? The word paradise does not do it justice. How can a slice in Queens be the best slice in NYC? Don’t ask me. It just is. I call them like I taste them. I find it hard to order just one slice when I’m here. No matter how full I am. In fact, if my German friends are with me, we order at least NEIN! YAAAAAA! There are actually multiple facets to me. But if you only know me from my Unilocal reviews, then you only know my «Punnyside.» So, in conclusion. Hit up Louie & Ernie’s in the Bronx, try Bleecker St Pizza or Prince St Pizza in Manhattan, try Capri Pizza in Jersey, and go to Louie’s on 5th ave in Broke-lyn. But if you want the most delicious slice of all… come to Queens and eat like a King. Garlic Bread Pizza. Sunnyside. I’m not fronting. I’m also not fronting you the money for it. But it’s a very affordable place if that helps. Speaking of which, you look fantastic from the front. But turn around, so I can check out your Bummyside. Ooh.

As I’m now packing to move to Elmhurst I realize I’ll miss this pizza the most, of all the food I’ve eaten while living here in Sunnyside. It was the first pizza I ate after moving to NYC and the ONLY pizza I ate in Sunnyside. The crust is the perfect thickness not too thin or too heavy, the sauce is robust, the cheese is a great quality and theres little spices in there too. I really think this was the best pizza I’ve had. I just may have to commute back here when I’m hungry!

The pizza at this hole in the wall definitely lives up to its Unilocal reviews. Like a hybrid between a thin crust and NYC slice, this one has cracking crust studded with sesame but loaded with far more cheese and tomato sauce than your standard artisanal. The sauce was flavored nicely with herbs and garlic and had a good ratio to cheese. All the pies are beautiful to look at, dotted with various toppings and cheese. Try the eggplant one, almost too pretty to eat. There is very little seating here, two chairs and five stools that face each other. So unless you come with a group to commandeer the stools, be forewarned that the tiny counter between the benches can mean you’ll end up studying some stranger’s style of mastication.

Huge slices of pizza at a great price. They really don’t skimp on the toppings. The pizzas I’ve been ordering and eating have been filled with toppings. They add some sesame seeds to their crust, so the crust has a unique taste compared to other pies I’ve had in New York. That’s definitely a plus. The only issue I have with this place is the size of the slices. I wished they’re cut a bit smaller. Then again, it’s New York; pizza slices are meant to be huge. If you’re around here or live around the neighborhood, I recommend this place if you want to get some pie.

Nah it’s completely over. It’s lit. I found myself in Long Island City wanting pizza. Hopped on Unilocal, found this place that was nearby. Being that I had absolutely no prior knowledge or expectations of the place, coupled with the fact that it is amazing, I was fucking floored. I got one slice of the white pizza and one of the buffalo chicken, and I won’t waste time trying to describe how good they both were. In summary, set down that bullshit non-fiction, get up from your desk, skip the grocery store, let your child wait at school, or drop whatever else you’re doing because this is more important. Go forth.

Oh my PIZZA! I’ve driven by this place a million times and finally decided to try it out. Glad I did! The sesame seeds in the crust add a great taste to the pizza. Loved the regular slices and grandma slice. Definitely my new favorite pizzeria in Sunnyside! One star off because this place is tiny and it gets crowded if there’s more than like 3 customers. I think there’s only one little table to sit at. Don’t expect to eat in.

YAAAASSSS!!! I found my new pizza place. Great crust, amazing sauce, and just the right amount of cheese on a regular slice. Yes, it’s $ 2.50 a slice, but it’s worth it.

New York style Pizza at its best. When I try a new spot I always order a pie… Only way to guarantee I get a fresh slice :). The pizza has a taste of it’s own, the sauce sweet & tangy combined perfectly with there cheese blend and the thicker crust covered with sesame seeds is definitely a plus.(Like a Pretzel disguised as a crust on the pizza) I always believed the thinner the pizza the better it is. I have officially found the exception. This is definitely not a thin slice pizza, but it went down perfectly after eating 4 slices. I found myself satisfied, yet I was not full in a nasty kind of way. Overall I felt pretty light :), The gentleman Michael who took my order was friendly & inviting. The spot itself is a straight order & go pizza shop. There is only one counter for people to eat on, huge variety of different topping slices ready to be eaten on display. FYI: Be prepared to clean up sesame seeds if you are eating this pizza at home. Very generous portions of sesame seeds on the crust! …
