Gary is very helpful and a nice guy. He came over to my house because we were smelling something from our bathroom. He looked around the entire house and the rooms and even went up to the attack and looked around. He didn’t see anything, but advised us that there a dead animal and it is somewhere in between the walls. Didn’t charge a penny and gave good advise. thanks Gary! Will definitely call him again in the future.

Gary has been tackling my rodent problems for about 16 years. He is unbelievably friendly and knowledgeable. He returns calls promptly and makes himself easily available. I have recommended him to many friends and family and they have had equal experiences. I recommend Avert and Gary with my highest praises.

I called Avert for a rodent problem in our attic. Gary came out and gave me an estimate, set up traps in our attic and under our house. The next day he returned and he successfully trapped a total of 7 rats. Gross!!! He also secured all of our crawl spaces so that the creatures can’t get in. Gary has returned 3 times since then to check for any more rodent activity. He will be coming out one more time to make 100% sure we’ve rid ourselves of these rats.
Gary is dependable, honest and I’d refer him to anyone looking to get rid of rats, mice, etc.

We subscribe to Corky’s so we called them when we had animals in the attic and garage. They came but only gave recommendations; they wouldn’t actually fix the problem of animals getting in. Useless! Called Avert on advice of a neighbor. Gary came out, trapped a possum, built me new crawl space covers and cemented every gap where an animal might get in. His work is guaranteed. We hired him to come out regularly to spray for ants and bugs at half the cost of Corky’s. And he’s a real nice guy! Can’t go wrong with Avert.

Gary did great work, professional and he even cleaned up after what the pests had made :) I was also impressed with their follow up!

I’m very pleased with Avert. I used them several years ago for a rat problem. They took care of everything from closing up every opening around my house, to setting the traps, and coming back frequently to check them and re-​set them until they caught the rats. I called Gary again a few days ago for an ant problem. He was at my house for over 2 hours, sprayed inside and outside and set out some gel bait. He went above and beyond today. He even checked our attic to see if we had rats. He was very reasonable. He is offering a 60 day warranty and will come back to spray again if we see more ants. I’ll be using him for quarterly, and even that price is really reasonable. I recommend him to anyone with any pest problems.

I just realized I never wrote a review for Gary — sorry about the delay!
We had some strange clumps of dead bugs in various parts of the house that would keep appearing no matter how much cleaning was done. The first two exterminators I called either never answered the phone, never called me back, or requested a ridiculous «assessment fee». Although Gary was extremely busy the day that I called and left a message, he called me back promptly in between jobs and asked me to describe the situation. He asked me if I could text him some photos of the bugs, and later in the day he sent back an info sheet on what he thought was the most likely culprit (Confused Flour Beetles).
He also suggested that instead of having him come out and spray, we should try implementing some simple changes in our pantry that could eliminate the problem. We made the changes and guess what… no more piles of beetles. Apparently these beetles get into grocery store cereal boxes and other grain-​containing boxes and then you bring them home to your pantry where they can multiply.
So in a nutshell Gary solved our problem for free, and guess who we recommend to all of our friends and family for extermination needs? We will not hesitate to call Avert Pest Control the next time we need an exterminator.

Our aparment manager had scheduled a roach spray in my apartment unit. Which would mean I had to take out all the contents from the kitchen cabinets as well as the bathroom. I was stressing out with the thought of doing all of these on a weekend instead of relaxing and enjoying my day off from work. Needless to say, I had to call someone else to take care of the job. I called Avert Pest Control and this guy Gary was very prompt and professional and did an excellent job and took care of the problem. I would say I am completely satisfied and happy seeing all those roaches perished! Everytime I walk in the kitchen and bathroom I see dead roaches everywhere and they kept multiplying!
Now I am confident I can depend on a good company and would definitely call for their service next time. Guys, I strongly recommend Avert… you can’t go wrong!

This IS as good as it gets! This is my first Unilocal review, and I’m glad it’s for Avert and owner Gary. I used Unilocal to find a service to remove a dead animal under my house, which was making a horrible and nasty smell, especially in my son’s room. This is definitely a situation when you need immediate help. After looking around on Unilocal,I called Avert yesterday.
Gary answered my call from the ROOF of where he was working. I explained my problem. He was more than willing to come almost immediately, but I was at work in Santa Monica, so I asked for «tomorrow» morning. He said he would be there between 8 & 9 — he was there at 8:20… as promised!
I told Gary I suspected it was a stray cat that befriended us; he made quick work of the problem, which turned out to be a GIANT dead opossum. He also took the time to check the complete underneath of our home to make sure there was nothing else there and told me that now that the opossum is gone, our stray may come back (which we want to happen). Well worth the price ($ 175) — Gary has a great personality (guess you have to for this job!), as well as very informative and professional.
No brainer — use this service for all extermination needs! THANK YOU!

We called today, Friday valentine’s day, at 345 pm looking for a home visit. We had called another pest control company after their technician was too lazy to go in attic.
Gary (I believe the owner) was very nice, honest, and yes he went in the attic with no problem and removed 4 dead rats! (Eww!) he charged us $ 150 which I thought was reasonable. He threw in a special bag that eliminates odors in case he missed any. Also, went all around the house inspecting for holes where rats are entering and gave us an estimate for rat proofing.
Overall, great service and got the job done!

I guess this company either has closed down or is currently not taking any customers. I’ve tried the number on their site and the number listed on Unilocal several times on different occassions, but it would only tell me that the number is not available or hangs up. That’s too bad because they were recommended.

I hired this company several months ago to take care of a rodent problem in my house. Unfortunately, the company went out of business before they could finish the job. They took my full payment and never serviced the contract as we had agreed to. I believe that the company recently reopened and I have had a difficult time trying to get a refund from the owner, Gary Gaviola. In fact, he recently cursed me out for trying to get a refund on the unfulfilled contract.
The person who actually did the work was Angelo Sarino. He was very nice and seemed quite knowledgeable, however his workmanship was poor. The concrete he poured to cover an opening under my water heater cracked. He missed several openings in my roof, one of which I observed a rat emerging from. And most egregious of all, he completely ignored a gaping hole behind the water heater which led from outside to inside the walls. In the end I had to basically redo all of his work and diagnose then fix several problems on my own. I eventually got rid of the rodents after a lot of do-​it-​yourself work.
I cannot recommend Avert and I am still waiting to get my $ 375 back.

I called around this morning to get a quote for what I was convinced was a bird trapped in the air duct. Long story short, I hear movement, what sounds like a beak hitting the sides of the duct and occasional cawing. Angelo said he could come by and take a look and the estimate would be free. He gave me a time frame but ended up calling to see if he could show up earlier, which he did.
I had to call my landlord to let them know and they had already tried to tell me that there wasn’t a bird inside as it cannot get in. I know what I’ve heard for the past three days which is why I decided to take matters into my own hands when I called Avert. In the end, I basically gave up because the landlord kept insisting it was not possible for a bird to get in and I can’t pay for this out of my own pocket to just have them make sure.
In the end, my landlord didn’t need his services but I am still giving them a 5 star review because Angelo was nice, patient with me while I argued with my landlord, and most of all punctual. If the time ever comes where I will need pest control, Avert will be the first company I call.

Angelo was very friendly and professional. I had issues with ants all over the perimeter of the property. He arrived on time. He explained everything to me. He thoroughly sprayed lots and lots of poison. He was finished in about 30 min. I called three companies, and this company gave me the lowest price. Comes with 60 day gaurantee.

Used AVERT today to have a dead animal removed from under the house. After inputting my inquiry on their Website, Angelo was swift to contact me. He was prepared to come out on the holiday, but I made the appointment for the next day; and he showed up right on time (including a phone call he made on his way).
Charged exactly what was quoted on the phone, and that was reasonable for the service. Worked less than an hour inclusive of proper clean-​up.
Courteous and Efficient. Will use again if needed.

So honest, and helpful! They came out on a Sunday when we had a mouse infestation, and told us how to solve the problem on our own. We followed their advice and it worked. They didn’t charge us anything for the visit. If we ever have pest/​rodent problems again, I will definitely call Avert!

I didn’t get the service that i want because they don’t do Bed Bugs. But this guy was so friendly and a cool guy, he even recommend me to another company who do Bed Bug elimination. He said he would love to help me about my problem but they still have to do a training for Bed Bugs. Its okay but at least now i know where to call whenever i have problems other than Bed Bugs. Great customer service! Two Thumbs Up!
I would definitely recommend this to my friends and to everyone!
