DJ Dean Hall has entertained guests at weddings, corporate and youth events, and private parties since 1988. Through planning, coordinating, MCing, and playing everyone’s favorite music, Dean Hall always creates cherished memories. Guests love his group interaction, games, and dances. He is also a mix-​master and will keep the dance floor packed with non-​stop hits. Dean receives music as radio stations do, so he virtually has every requested song. Mr. Hall has performed for celebrities and Fortune 500 companies, and clients have flown him across the United States to entertain. DJ Dean was absolutely fantastic! It was our first annual company Christmas party had at a public venue, the Newport Beach Yacht Club. At first, we hesitated about upgrading to lights, but believe me it was worth the additional cost, seriously! I highly recommend it! You will be amazed at how much your guests will appreciate the «let’s party & dance» atmosphere! By the end of the evening, we didn’t want to leave. But, unfortunately, there was a curfew. The games we played and the professional attitude & equipment, Dean got everyone participating and laughing our heads off! Please book Ultimate Events, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you Unilocal reviewers for helping me choose Dean as my DJ because that was seriously one of the best decision that I made for my wedding! All of our wedding guests spoke nothing but amazing things about him and everyone loved the games! Our party guests weren’t really the dancing kind of group so the games were perfect to keep our guests entertained and involved as well. Dean was not only our DJ but also helped us coordinate the whole night. He will set up a final meeting with to finalize everything and he basically created the whole timeline for the night and was very very detailed about everything. Dean was worth EVERY penny and he seriously made our wedding an unforgettable one! Thank you, Dean for everything! You’re awesome!

I wrote a previous review after Dean did my daughter’s wedding; however this time he played at our company’s Christmas party. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely at the party; but I want to tailor this review to illustrate how he was to work with prior to the event.
I used to live in the Long Beach area, and this is where our company is located. Several months ago, I moved to Charlotte, NC but I work remotely for our company. I was assigned the task of arranging for our company’s Christmas party, and I did not get these marching instructions until late October. I immediately called Dean and he recommended several venues where he had performed previously. Obviously, I was not available to meet with him except by phone — and our company had never used a DJ/​Emcee at a company event — this would be a first. Since this change was involved, I received some static from people who seemed to be opposed to change or had a fear of the unknown. Dean helped me to navigate these difficult waters. A few weeks before the event (everything was in a holding pattern due to the static I was experiencing) a decision was made to change the night of the party — but almost everything was booked in the area. Dean gave me the dates he was available and I worked around them. We were able (through Dean) to secure a venue, and he did a conference call with the local employees which helped put them at ease. In the end, I received feedback that this was the best Christmas party our company has held. As always, he had a great icebreaker, several engaging games, and he was able to fill the dance floor!
So I want to say Dean was «ABSOLUTELY AWFUL» so others will not book him and he will always be available for my needs — but I cannot do that — Dean is great! The truth is I could not have carried off this successful function without him! If I am involved in the future, we will be using Dean!

DJ Dean & Ultimate Events by far surpassed all expectations my wife and I could of ever asked for. The top notch customer service, professionalism, and execution by DJ Dean was definitely something we don’t see to often these days.
On our first meeting with DJ Dean we knew we were going to be well taken care of. The detailed overview and questions he laid out for us was notably calculated to our specific venue and event. Meeting us on a personal level and sincerely caring about our specific needs was a refreshing start in itself. Come wedding day, with all the different dynamics it can bring; DJ Dean was ready for any curveballs thrown his way. Not to mention, including all the guests in on fun innovated activities/​games was a hit! There was never a dull moment!
Looking back, there isn’t anything we would have changed and we are truly thankful for all the hard work and time that was put in by DJ Dean and Ultimate Events. All the behind the scenes work leading up to the wedding that we never really think about is definitely appreciated and was shown in full colors!
I highly recommend Ultimate Events to all, there is no one better!

Well what can we say other than «AMAZING» Dean made our special day the most memorable ever, Our guest had such a great time that we received many positive compliments about our MC Dean, he made everything flow to perfection, from the cocktail hour, dinner hour, the games were a hit, the trivia made everyone participate and all were into it. We hired Ultimate events for our wedding in October and could not have made a better decision. Seriously the best choice we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. Ultimate events may be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. We have people from the wedding still saying it’s the best wedding they have ever been to. People continue to say «the DJ was awesome, he made the wedding perfect.» Having an amazing DJ is one of the most important factors in your wedding. Not only was he an excellent DJ for the day of the wedding but he was very prompt in answering any emails or text and made sure to address all my concerns for the big day. He offered to have in-​person and telephone meetings whenever we needed in order to make us feel confident for the day of the wedding. Dean made the event flow so smoothly and his hilarious ice breaker games had the guest laughing hysterically. I am so grateful we went with Dean!!!

I recently had the opportunity to produce the entertainment for a beautiful wedding at the LaQuinta Resort. I was familiar with Ultimate Events from previous events that I had worked on, and was so happy that Dean was able to send Don to this event. This was a very high-​end wedding with elaborate custom designs, entertainment and many details to attend to. Throughout the planning process both Dean and Don maintained contact with the bride and made sure that every one of her requests was clearly understood and worked into their detailed timeline.
Don arrived in plenty of time to be set and ready to go when guests arrived in the room for the reception. He easily managed all of the speeches making sure to adjust volumes so everyone could be heard clearly. This was important to the families as guests had flown in from around the country and were meeting eachother for the first time.
As with many complex events, staying on schedule is difficult. Don worked closely with the wedding coordinator to keep things on track and make sure the photographers and videographer got every shot they needed. He also was helpful to the resort’s staff, making announcements that helped to facilitate smooth dinner service. Most importantly, Don kept the focus on the Bride, Groom and their guests. His experience was evident as he was able to play music that appealed to all ages. Using a nice mix of classics, standards and contemporary music, he kept the dance floor filled throughout the entire event. Even those who don’t like to dance found themselves partaking in the fun.
The day after the wedding, I talked with one of the bridesmaids. This had been the 5th wedding she had been in this year, and she said this was by far the best wedding of them all. I asked her what made this wedding stand out and she credited the DJ for keeping the dance floor exciting and full all night long.
As someone who has been involved in the entertainment industry, providing live entertainment for over 30 years, I was very pleased with Don’s pleasant demeanor, the politeness with which he interacted with each and every person, and his effective management of the event. I would recommend Dean and Don without hesitation.

Our wedding was 9÷26÷15 and our DJ was Don. It saddens me to give this review but I looked at Unilocal in the first place when I looked for a wedding DJ and all of Ultimate Events reviews were 5 out of 5 stars so I booked a meeting with Dean and was very excited to meet with him.
He was the reason why we booked with Ultimate Events. We were in contact with Dean through out the whole process. Then unfortunately 3 weeks before our wedding Dean emailed me and told me Don was our DJ. We immediately contacted Dean back and told him our concerns but he said Don was great. We ended up meeting with Don and he was a very very nice guy. He seemed to get our vision we were going for. I’m a wedding coordinator myself so I had a lot of specific things I wanted and didn’t want at my wedding.
Unfortunately our DJ didn’t go as well as we expected. I’m not sure if Don was nervous or not but introducing our wedding party he fumbled over his words even though I wrote everything down for him. Granted there was 16 in our bridal party so I’m not sure if that was why. There was times where he would talk to our guest and completely turn off the music. I wanted a very interactive DJ because we had a huge mix of people there and there wasn’t anything that he did that I felt made all the guest come together and really get in the wedding mood. I was wanting our wedding to be a big dance party once every dance was done. We had a large wedding about 220 guest so when the dancing music was on there was tons of our guest on the dance floor but after about 2 – 3 songs he would play a slow song and a lot of guest would leave the dance floor. This happened about 2 – 3 times until I finally had to tell him to please not play slow songs anymore. My mom coordinated with Dean that my family along with my husbands family were going to do a surprise dance for us. I’m not sure if the message wasn’t relaid clear enough to Don but it didn’t go according to how my mom set it up with Dean. It was still a complete surprise for us and totally fun to see but my mom was disappointed how Don handled it.
I will say Don tried his best and was quick to handle a slight power outage for a few minutes that we had. Don was really nice and I know he was trying to make it a flawless night for us. I’m not sure if it’s because I attend a lot of wedding during the year because I coordinate them but we were disappointed with our DJ. The overall experience at our wedding was great but I can truly say we probably wouldn’t of booked Ultimate Events if we knew Dean was not going to be our DJ.

DJ Dean is one of the friendliest people we met while looking for wedding vendors. He was very personable, helpful, and willing to take the time to answer any questions we had without rushing us. He was also very detailed, we would definitely work with him again for future events.
We ended up using on of DJ Dean’s photo/​video booths, and we’re glad we did! We got a lot of pictures and a few videos from our wedding guests, the prop selection was incredible, and he spent time with us to design a custom logo for our photo strips. We also chose the option to get a scrapbook, and it was very high quality. Definitely consider going with the photobooth if you’re already using his DJ services!

We hired DJ Dean for our recent wedding, and he took the wedding from GOOD to GREAT :) We had atleast 3 different guests tell us it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and that was mostly due to DJ Dean. The guests didn’t have that awkward sitting around time while waiting for the bride and groom to come by their table. DJ Dean made sure the guests had games going on and entertainment the whole time. I won’t give away any of the games, so that when you hire him, you and your guests will be just as entertained :) Also, our contract only kept him until 11pm but some guests were still dancing at that time. He didn’t hesitate to keep playing, we went on the dance floor for a few last songs, and as our friends and family made a circle around us, it was one of the most memorable parts of the wedding for us. Bottom line if you want an AWESOME wedding, hire DJ Dean!

Dean is the BEST! After using him for both my sisters’ wedding, and now my own– we wouldn’t have used anyone else!
The photo booth was amazing! We were able to text ourselves all the pictures we took, and print copies. I would HIGHLY suggest his photo booth as it was the best one I’ve ever seen at a wedding.
For our dinner Dean handled every curve thrown his way perfectly! When my brother was absent for his toast he was able to fill in the time with a fun game to keep us all entertained– which was not in the timeline but was PERFECT! Guests at the wedding had no idea anything was wrong :)
The music for dancing was SPOT on! Everyone raved about how fun the music was. With just a few songs we had requested– he played every song as if I hand selected each of them!
All in all he was so great to work with! So fun and easy going. It was the most fun and least stressful part of planning my wedding. Thank you Dean and Team for such a wonderful day!

DJ Dean was AWESOME! He totally knew how to ENGAGE the crowd and get them WORKIN! We gave him our Itinerary and he followed it to the tea. He even checked in to make sure ALL was rolling along and if there were any changes, he was VERY flexible and made it all work out wonderfully! When it came time to plan for my wedding, I was dreading finding a DJ. Most of my friends had a friend of theirs «monitor the music» during the reception (i.e. didn’t have a DJ) or had an ipod on shuffle. The first post-​college years are rough on the wallets.
So I turned to trusty Unilocal.I happened across DJ Dean and was intrigued by his full 5-​star rating. Why were people so obsessed with him?
When you meet him, you understand why. DJing and putting on insanely awesome events is literally his passion. Your wedding is not just another job for him; it’s a chance for him to make you as the bride/​groom look great because your wedding is kick-​ass and for him to have a blast doing it.
I can’t think of how my wedding could have gone any better and at least 85% of that was thanks to Dean and how smoothly he made everything go. Comments heard during/​after the wedding:
«Your DJ is AWESOME.» (At least five times)
«All the music is so good!!»
«Everything flowed really smoothly, like there were no super long awkward times that usually happen at weddings like between cocktail hour and eating or whatever.»

You think a DJ is someone that just plays music? Wrong. If your DJ is good, he/​she will do 10x that, and Dean did at least 23x that. I cannot recommend him enough!

There are so many wonderful things to write about Dean that it will be hard to condense everything I want to say about him into anything less then a novel.
My first impression of Dean was that he really enjoyed what he was doing. His enthusiasm for DJing and making our wedding an amazing day made me feel so much more relaxed. Dean was quick to get back to any emails, calls, and texts regarding questions I may have. When my husband and I had our first consultation with him he really took the time to get a feeling for what the vibe we where looking for for wedding. He goes over a checklist that covers every option you could possibly want to have for your event.
The months leading up to the wedding Dean made sure to keep in contact and see how everything was going. He was never pushy when suggesting add ons for the wedding. If we said no to something he smiled, moved on and didn’t bring it up again. He provides lists for you to fill out with all the important information and gives you access to his library of songs to pick from for the big day. He even gave me suggestions for my timeline to make everything run smoother.
The day of the wedding came and as my stress level began to rise because of us running late Dean helped to keep me calm. He helped everyone get in their spots and made sure that we got back on track. He made sure when the reception came that my husband and I had drinks and our food. Not only does he make a great DJ, but makes a great day of coordinator.
I received so many compliments on how amazing he was and many of my guests told me he was the best DJ they had ever seen and heard. He makes sure that all the guests are having a great time and makes sure your event is one to remember. Hire Dean and you won’t regret it.

We had DJ Dean for our wedding on 9÷6÷14, and he is one of the reasons why our wedding was so freaking awesome! I can’t tell you how many people came up to us after the wedding and said it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. If I had more money, I would have given it to him. I fell in love with him the moment we met lol. A lot of my friends told me he’s booked for their wedding and some of those friends aren’t even dating anyone hahaha.
From the beginning through the very end, DJ Dean was super friendly, quick to respond, helpful, and FUN. Not only did he DJ and MC our wedding, he was basically our wedding coordinator. He made an agenda which was down to every minute and everything was so flawless. I’m not a fan at all of those cheesy wedding games and I was very clear about that in the beginning. Dean’s games and icebreakers are fun and creative. Everyone was super into them and everyone got super competitive! We ended up with some hilarious wedding photos. I work with a lot of ESL teachers, and several of them mentioned to me that he’s like a teacher. He reads the crowd and he knows how to keep them engaged and interested. I’ve been to a lot of weddings where the guests have no idea what’s going on, but our guests were totally engaged the entire time.
He also has a vast array of music to choose from. If you’re a decisive person like me, he’ll play whatever you ask him to. If you’re not decisive and rather he choose the music, he will happily do that. He’s so good at reading the crowd. I wanted to keep paying him overtime because literally every single guest was on the dance floor by the end of the night, but we were getting kicked out of our venue.
Dean also provided our photo booth. The photo booth attendant was so nice and professional despite our super drunken friends and family. He customized the banner on the photo for us, gave us a copy of every picture, and also gave us a copy of the pictures on a CD. His photo booth is really cool because not only does it take pictures but videos, too. There’s also a social media function so guests can post their picture to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
I highly, highly recommend Dean for your event! He’s the best!

Our wedding was 9÷29÷13 so this review is a bit late but still wanted to write something about these guys.
From the beginning, Dean was very friendly and helpful. They communicated quickly via email and phone and had a lot of good ideas based on their experience as a DJ. They were very organized and wanted to make sure our wedding was a success by coordinating with our wedding coordinator.
We had DJ Don and he did a great job. He was great with getting everyone involved and I appreciated that each transition went smoothly without any awkward silence. We had a few unplanned changes during the night but he just flowed with it with ease. These guys are definitely worth it.

My wife and I got married January 3rd 2015 and had Dean as our DJ. We were referred to him by a couple we knew that had him at their wedding. Having Dean as our DJ was the best decision we made. He had the whole group entertained throughout the whole time. Dean went above and beyond what we were expecting. I loved that he was always available for us during the planning and would always find a convenient time for us to meet him. During the wedding we had so many comments about how amazing he was and we couldn’t agree more! Dean is absolutely the best and I would recommend him to EVERYONE! «This is the best wedding I have ever been to!!» I heard this over and over again at and following my wedding, and I attribute this to Dean! Dean was an excellent host, an excellent DJ and just an excellent guy through and through. Here is the letter I sent him.
«Hi Dean,
Please allow me a moment to sincerely thank you for your work at our wedding. Even though we were distracted greeting guests, we saw that everyone was having way too much fun with your games and trivia. I even had a few guests I was greeting at their table shush me so they could keep participating in your games! Many came up to me and said that this was the most fun they had ever had at a wedding. You did a great job engaging everyone and coordinating very creative and hilarious games.
I also wanted to praise you on having (my now husband) break out of his shy and reserved shell to play He Said, She Said. I know he resisted at first, but you were able to make it comfortable for him, and guests said they greatly enjoyed watching us participate.
I have memories of people dashing about trying to find odd items and rushing back to the „musical chairs“ type game you were playing… too funny!
Anyway, thank you so much for keeping our guests very well entertained, and for making the evening what many said was the greatest wedding they ever went to. It was truly a pleasure working with you.»
Wrapping it up– this company is not a cheap just spin records type of DJ business. This is a business that will go the extra mile (and further) to make sure that EVERYONE is having the time of their lives! You may pay more than other vendors, but keep in mind this is more than just a music spinner, and the service and entertainment is worth it a million times over.
Oh, and the ceremony! Everything was cued up perfectly, it faded magnificently, Dean went out during cocktail hour to meet everyone and to get everyone in on a trick they ended up playing on me (the bride) and the groom… he went the extra mile in every way possible. It was GREAT and a ton of fun.

Hiring Dean to DJ our wedding a few weeks ago was the BEST DECISION! Our wedding was SO_​MUCH_​FUN. I have never been to such a fun wedding, and I know I sound biased since I was the bride, but I have also never sought out a bride and groom at a wedding to tell them, «THIS IS THE BEST WEDDING I HAVE EVER BEEN TO» and by the end of the night my husband and I lost track of how many people had told us that.
At the beginning of our wedding planning process, my husband and I sat down and tried to prioritize what was most important to us about our wedding day. We both agreed that the most important thing to us was for our guests to have a really fun time. We made that our number one goal, and then hashed out our budget accordingly. If having the most fun wedding ever is part of your wedding day vision, hiring Dean has to be a given. Our wedding was FLAWLESS from the ceremony music, to the toasts, to the GAMES (my face hurt from laughing so hard), to the card time capsules (best idea ever — thank you Dean!), to the spotlight dances, to the dance floor. Flawless. So fun. This guy was seriously put on this planet to make your wedding the best one ever. Few people ever end up as good at their jobs as Dean is. That’s just a fact.

We had Dean as our DJ at our wedding 3 weeks ago and he was just absolutely amazing!!! Not only was he our DJ, he was the lighting guy and pretty much the wedding coordinator. He did such an amazing with keeping all possible dead spots in the reception filled with games and trivia that involved the entire crowd. He kept all the guests entertained the entire time.
We worked out an itinerary for the day of the wedding with Dean and he was so good at keeping us on the schedule. He worked it out with the «coordinator» of the venue but pretty much ran the entire show.
All our guests had nothing but good things to say about Dean. He basically made the wedding!
