After hearing some unwelcome critters in my attic for about a week, I decided I needed to do something about it! I wanted to go with a local company for pest control. I called up King Pest Solutions, the owner, Mike King is very nice. I talked about what I was hearing, and he figured that they were mice. He came out to my home to put some poison in the attice, as well as look around the foundation to find a spot where the mice may be coming in. I was very hesitant to use poison as I have a cat and dog in the home. He assured me that if one of my animals had eaten the mouse that ate poison, it would not effect my animal. I agreed because I just really didn’t know what else to do or what could be done. Mike was not able to find a hole or place around the foundation that the mice are getting in(um.OK?) the mice never made it in to the main part of the house, they have to be getting in SOMEHOW! That made me nervous because if he didn’t find a spot — then they can keep getting in somehow. Mike told me that it would take about 3 – 5 days for the mice to eat the poison and for them to die. He warned me that there would be a smell(gross) for about 10 days and then it would go away. SO… I waited… and waited… oh…and waited. I was sleeping in my living room as they were keeping me awake at night above my bedroom! A week and a half went by and I could still hear the pesky little critters. I called Mike again to let him know that I still could hear them. He said, «well lets give it a few more days» oh… sure, no problem — sleep isn’t that important to me anyway. After giving it MORE time, I could still hear them. He came over again and put the olé traditional snap traps in my attic and says«well, I’m going on vacation so I’ll come back in about 10 days». He came back to check the traps and whooo hooo, there was one little bugger that was in the trap. Mike came and took all the traps out and assumed it was just the one mouse. Of course, a week later I hear them AGAIN. I called another pest company to discuss my situation with them — they felt that more could and should be done. Their approach to getting rid of the mice was different and made more sense to me. I had them come out, and what do you know, they found several spots where mice could have entered the house. One area with evidence of mouse poo outside! I called Mike and told him I was dis-satisified with the service. I did receive my money back. Whew, what an ordeal that went on over two months!
