Simply Divine Nail Spa

I read glowing reviews on Unilocal and in the Houston Chronicle. I visited this salon several times and wondered why they got such great reviews. They were adequate at best. My last visit was last week. I went at 9:00 a.m. for a pedicure. The technician was going through the process when she pulled out the hose to rinse off my legs. She hit a button causing scalding hot water to hit my legs. I screamed and jerked my legs away. The technician laughed! The other employees didn’t even look up! She asked me what was wrong and I told her that she scalded me. She said «No no! I did not scald you.» Then she felt the water and said «I must have hit wrong button. Sorry.» I was charged $ 36 for this pedicure. REALLY? I didn’t leave a tip and I won’t be back.

I’ve gotten my nails done here multiple times since the salon opened, and have taken a dear friend here to get her nails done before her wedding. I’ve always had a great experience and beautiful nails to show. I normally stick to classic french and normal polish because my fingernails grow really fast. The manicures last without chipping and my pedicures go for weeks. I prefer my French manicures to be on the thin side, and they are always fine with making sure the tips are to my liking. If you tell the techs what you want, they really do their best to make sure your nails look the way you want them.
I’ve always had a problem at other salons when technicians keep pushing and cutting my cuticles too deeply even after I’ve told that will give me hangnails, but have NEVER had that issue with any of the different techs that I’ve gotten my nails done with here.
Also, this is a really clean salon. You can watch the paraffin wax thrown away and know it wasn’t reused like other salons, plus the instruments aren’t reused.
I personally don’t like conversing a lot when I’m getting my nails done, and I’m glad that here, the techs don’t push conversation on you unless you feel like being engaged in talk. It’s a very soothing atmosphere without a lot of loud music or chattering in Vietnamese, which is rare! There are lots of colors and you can tell the polish isn’t watered down like at other salons.

I have been having a hard time finding my «go-​to» nail salon. For many years now, I have been going to spectrum. Although all the ladies treat me with much love and respect, as the new employees started rolling in, I could see the quality of my nails declining along with my girlfriends’ nails. I jumped over to tipsy, which was also a total bummer. I had seen many reviews about simply divine and thought one day ok let’s give this place a shot.
So as soon as I arrived, I can see the inside is very, VERY cute. Looks super clean to have been open for 2 years. Doesn’t smell strong of chemicals like other places and immediately I was greeted by not one, but THREE of the employees there. Super plus right there.
All the employees are very kind and very attentive. They Even were very helpful with choices from colors to which kind of product to use for the nails. I was pretty bummed though when they weren’t sure what bio seaweed gel was. But that’s ok.
I had Tiffany as my pedicurist, and after she was done, I had Andy as my manicurist. I definitely have to give them a 1000 stars for quality. Tiffany was so gently and precise with my pedicure. She surely took her time with me. I did not feel rushed at all. Andy, oh my goodness, was my main reason of why I will definitely return and make an appointment for him. He did not make me feel uncomfortable with the shape and length I preferred (medium long, stiletto with a pretty pointy tip). He was such a perfectionist with my nails I felt like I was watching an Instagram of a really good manicurist! They came out looking so natural and pointy! Just the way I like it they looked like my real nails but just painted over! I have always had an issue with my nails being perfect. Either too thick, uneven, not the shape I asked for or desired, etc. but Andy totally nailed spot on. I am in love with this place and will be back in the next couple of weeks for my fill!

Lacked in craftsmanship and overpriced ‚$ 35 in classic pedi and $ 32 Gel … 2 star for cute décor and cleanliness.

Was visiting a friend in Houston and decided pamper ourselves having a mani and pedi. I went in on June 9, 2016 about 5:30 in the evening. I called to make an appointment and the customer service over the phone was less than impressive. When we walked in this same person that answered the phone was not very inviting either. But I pushed this aside thinking «well, Unilocal has great reviews on this place.» When I went in I saw the price of the pedicures and it may be the norm in Texas but in Los Angeles I usually pay $ 25-​$ 40 for Gel nails and a regular pedicure. My friend and I thought the price was a bit steep and decided to just do the Gel nails. When we decided on this the same rude receptionist was upset by this and was giving us rude looks the WHOLE time. We ignored her and proceeded, my friend and I had photos of what we wanted… both ladies said they can achieve that look… wrong again. Why say you can do it when you can’t! There was a bit of language barrier as well. Nonetheless we had our nails done but it sucks to be treated rudely by the receptionist pay $ 85 bucks for both our nails and leave unsatisfied! Never again!!! The receptionist is the face and the voice of a company she should not be put in the front for this duty!!!

This place saved my disastrous nails from Maui. If you ever have ugly nails, go to this place! They are amazing!!!

First experience here. While it was nice and clean I didn’t experience what they advertised. The pedicure (diamond) was finished in 35 minutes. It should have been 45. There was supposed to be hot towels — that didn’t hapoend. And the best part of the pedicure is to get good foot and leg massages. That barely happened. That’s what I look for when I get a pedi. This is also the first nail salon I’ve been that doesn’t offer a 5% discount for paying cash. That said, its disappointing.

Tried out this nail salon for the first time today. $ 16 for a simple manicure seemed alright, though I have paid cheaper. Upon entry (my appointment was at 3:15 pm) two receptionists were just chatting and didn’t really say anything until I came up to them. They told me oh okay blah blah you can go pick out your nail color already. Seeing as there was a table and wall of polish I was a bit confused but they told me that I could choose any. They didn’t sound too friendly. When I finally chose a color it had an #83 on it which I assumed was just the color number and I went off to get my manicure; service was wonderful but the polish ended up looking uneven and bumpy! Later when I went up to pay the ladies told me my total was $ 21. I asked if there were taxes added or something but apparently they charged an extra $ 5 for the polish I chose? I ended up paying that extra 5 but was extremely disappointed that no one had mentioned to me that some polishes cost more than others. It was my first time here and might be my last. I told the ladies that they should have told me from the start which polishes had an extra charge (I didn’t see a sign or anything either) and they just looked at me with no response. Very rude and inconsiderate. Expected better of this 4 ½ star place.

My nails have never looked better! I’ve been coming here for about 3 months now and Andrew is by far the best artist I’ve come across. I’ve never left not loving my nails. Andrew & Nathan are awesome and don’t mind helping you pick out a color. They have a HUGE selection of Zoya Polish!
*To be completely honest I use to have a hard time finding a nail salon that could get almond and coffin shape just right but since I found Andrew my nails looks great. I’m pretty much happy ALL the time about my nails now! Thanks Andrew!

I won’t let anyone but Andrew work on my nails. He pays attention to detail and it’s obvious to see he takes pride in his work.

First time going and it was fantastic! Katelynn did my nails and she did such a good job! She’s so sweet and listens to everything you say and ask about when she’s doing your nails. Everyone there is so sweet and genuine. The place is lovely and very clean. Definitely returning!
Update —
Not even a week later one of my nails broke off. Not from anything heavy or hard it just broke.

Ask for Nathan and make sure to have an appointment. He introduced me to «nail dipping». It is a cross between gel and acrylic powder. I have notice people looking twice at my nails. They can’t figure out if it is just polish or fake nails. They are super thin and last a little over 2 weeks. I am a chef and they don’t chip or peel off, which makes this a great value. It costs $ 45 each visit and I always leave Nathan a great tip because he is that good. The whole process takes about 40 minutes and you leave with completely dry nails so no worries about smudging them when getting your keys out.

Overall I highly recommend this business as long as Nathan is there.

First time in today. The salon was nicely decorated. My technicians were Anne and Holly. Both were very nice, made good conversation, and made sure to keep making sure I was enjoying my services. I tend to mindlessly pick at my cuticles sometimes so, unfortunately, that resulted in bleeding on one of my thumbs. That’s not uncommon for me, personally, though. I got shellac on my hands and regular polish on my toes. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because there are a few areas on my nails that could be better, such as some bubble spots and blank areas on some of my nails. All in all, it was a great experience. I will be back.

Decided at the last minute to get my toes polished. I used Unilocal to find this place since I don’t live in this area. First, it’s super cute and very clean. Even when I switched my mind several times, the host was patient. I ultimately decided to get a diamond pedicure & shellac manicure. The diamond pedicure is the 2^nd level of their pedicures and includes hot wax. Pretty standard in my opinion. The massages weren’t long enough to me but who would want that to end? I’m pleased with my nails and the service. I may even make a special trip on a Sunday (avoid traffic) to come back. I adore this place and Kolby (nail tech) is super cute & fun, too

I decided to try this place after reading the reviews. It was a Saturday afternoon. They seemed very busy but took me right away. The place seemed clean. Staff was happy and playful with one another, which I enjoyed. I got the Diamond Pedi which was $ 36 and I asked for a special design which ended up $ 42. I am very happy with the design I requested. The massage could have been better. They had 2 butterfly chairs for a little princess. I will definitely be back with some different design requests.

I was thrilled that they were able to accommodate me, my mom, and my MIL on Mother’s Day. We booked appointments 3 days in advance, but most places were either closed or not accepting reservations due to the Holiday.
When we arrived, we were promptly seated and serviced. They offered us complimentary wine, mimosas, or water, and they also had light snacks out front on a three tiered tray. I had the mimosa. Paired with the massage chair and the Pampered Mani/​Pedi Package, it was like heaven. I am not sure if they offer the food all the time, or if it was just for Mother’s Day, but it was a nice touch.
They offered a wide range of shellac and polish. I feel like the shellac selection was bigger than most.
All of us were happily pleased with our nail techs and the job they did. I was very surprised to have two men working on me… and two more on other women. WAY more men working than normal, but they did an excellent job.
While I was checking out, they gave us fresh long stem roses! That set the experience over the top and was such a sweet gesture. I have a place that I usually go to closer to home, but I may actually make the drive down to Sugar Land for this place if they always have these complimentary add-​ons.

I had an appointment for my mother’s birthday on Saturday afternoon. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated but hey busy Saturday issue maybe? Eventually the pedicures began staggered one by one except me. I sat there for 45 minutes with nothing going on except the water getting cold. I actually ended up getting the tech that finished my sibling’s pedicure. That was in itself at least a 25 – 30 minute wait time. It was uncomfortable for me to have my party waiting for me to be done. Some would argue, well you had multiple pedicures there’s going to be a wait. Understood, but that’s what planning and appointments are for.
When it came time to pay, there was so much confusion about who owed what. Finally, that receptionist could not have had a more unfriendly attitude through it all. Let’s remember customer service needs a smile. We were hoping to find a step up in service from our usual salon. Unfortunately this was not it.

For the amount I paid I believe I was robbed! The nail technician rushed the work and u can see flecks of lint in my nail. They gossiped the entire time I was there in there native language and I said before that is hella unprofessional. Like we get it, how would they feel if they frequented a service place and all they did was giggle and speak their language. Watch what u get, and pay for I never got the hot towel treatment even tho it’s listed on the $ 30 menu. He definitely skimped on my service I did peep that and lowkey could have caused a scene but I confidently brought it to his attention… No apology just fake smile I don’t understand English look boy boo. My advice fancy on inside but not worth my earned coins. I’ve been to better and regret walking up in here real t.

A beautiful hidden treasure! I have been trying numerous nail places for the right person to do my nails for my wedding day. I finally saw from Unilocal reviews that Andrew was the person to go to — I decided to give it go and schedule with him. 4 days before my wedding I came in for a full set with shellac from Andrew and my pedicure was from Holly. A few days later I took my in-​laws here to get their nails done and a pedicure for the wedding too. They absolutely loved it and are still raving about their nails.
Andrew knew exactly what I wanted and did an amazing job on my nails. It’s been 2 weeks and my nails still look nice! The Swarovski crystal designs he put on my nails are still all there and the shape of the nails as they grew out still look nice. It’s apparent Andrew knows what he’s doing. I do consider myself to be a pretty picky person when it comes to my nails and Andrew exceeded my expectations. Holly did a great job cleaning my cuticles and massaging during the pedicure. She took her time and didn’t rush through it.
And to top it off the place doesn’t reek of that awful nail salon smell when you walk in. It’s beautiful and you can tell the owners took pride in their décor and cleanliness. I will definitely be back!

I recently moved to Sugar Land, and have been asking around for a good nail salon. This is my new go-​to for manicures. I came in with no appointment and was seated immediately. I got Kaitlyn (sp), who I highly recommend. She helped me pick out the perfect nail color and was fun to talk to throughout my manicure. For my shellac manicure, it was $ 32. This isn’t bad, and like always, you get what you pay for.
A few pluses at Simply Divine:
— It doesn’t have a strong chemical smell that most other places have.
— The employees were constantly cleaning.
— They clean the pedicure stations very well. I also saw them put plastic covers over the bowls.
— Most of the employees spoke English the entire time. I know some people are afraid they’re speaking about them. I speak Viet, and can confirm they are not.
— Last, but not least, it’s a peaceful and calm environment. No yelling, soft music, and no televisions.
Overall, my experience was great, and I look forward to visiting again.
