Four Paws Day Care

This place is dangerous for pets… I left my 2 year old yellow lab for 3 days over the new year holidays and in the first 30 minutes of him being there — he injured his elbow really bad, to the point where he’s still limping after over a month has passed. The reason being is that one of the employees was cleaning and left the floor wet. Nobody called me to let me know that it happened, I called myself when noticed that my dog is no longer in the yard and is not coming back for a while. Only when I called to double check if all was well, that’s when I heard a nervous voice of a receptionist who wasn’t sure how to describe the situation. They offered to take him to a vet, but of course at my expense. And of course I would immediately take him home but I had an international flight in a few hours and that was not an option. So I returned there to check if he can still stay there for 3 days and unfortunately had to leave him there until I came back. The dogs are not supervised there at all, once in a while they just clean up after them. I’ve read so many reviews here from people who had bad experience and this means that this FOUR PAWS DAY CARE IS NOT SAFE FOR PETS. Yeah… they make you sign a disclaimer where it says that anything that happens to your dog — they are not responsible for it, no medical bills are covered even if it’s their fault. The owner himself is a mean guy, who surprised me when giving me an example with his kids in kindergarten saying: «I know that if something happens to my kid there — I am responsible for it, not the kindergarten». So I asked: «And if your kid falls on the wet floor there and injures his elbow, who will be responsible?» — He said: «I will be», which is just terrible to hear from a parent. I don’t even know how he came up with the idea to open a day care if he really doesn’t care about animals. Some people may think if this service is $ 20 cheaper than somewhere else — you get what you pay for — WRONG. Our pets are live creatures, they can’t be treated bad. One little thing goes wrong — it can be over for a pet. Anyways, my point is — I would not trust this Four Paws Day Care, I will never take my dog there ever again. Dear pet lovers, beware, it takes just one time to screw your beloved friend, make sure you triple check on the places you’re taking them to. May your pets be safe and healthy.

I’ve been taking my dog here for grooming for a year and have always been very pleased with the result. I don’t like that I have to leave her there for sometimes 4 – 5 hours (even after have booking appointments days in advance) but this seems to happen a lot with groomers so it’s no big deal to me.
My last visit I was charged extra (the amount increases every time) because there was some parts of my dogs hair that had started to matte. $ 150 is a little annoying for my 10 pound maltipoo to be groomed but whats done is done. I understand that it can take time to brush out her hair so I paid and went on with my day.
The real reason for the 1 star is the next morning my dog was very very sick. I had to rush her to the vet. She had a 104 fever. They had to put her on IV’s and iced her down. She was put on medication for weeks and I spent hundreds of dollars to get her better. The vet found a rash on her skin and felt that this kind of sudden, extreme infection was most likely from an unclean razor from her groomers visit.
Not only was I overcharged when I went but with the emergency vet visit my dog ended up with an almost 1000 dollar hair cut. I will not be returning because of this which is very disappointing because they had always done such a good job in the past.
It’s possible the company is under new ownership and that is the reason for the sudden drop in care. The last time I took my dog in none of the regular employees were there.
Apologies for the long post! Just wanted to warn other dog owners! Would hate for more pups to get sick the way mine did!

Love this place! We were having issues with our six month old Husky/​Inu, Penny, howling during the day while we were away at work. We drop her off anywhere between 2 and 3 times a week. She plays and interacts with other dogs from 7am til 6:30pm.
What a world of difference it has made on her. She has free reign in one of two pens, and has an absolute blast. They also provide web cam links so while I’m at work I can check in on her. We pay a reasonable $ 30 a day, and since bringing Penny here, she no longer howls when she’s on her own! Well worth the money, so much so, we booked her in for a week while we go away. It’s a huge relief knowing we can check in on her, and she won’t spend her time there in a kennel, other than to sleep.

Feeling kind of bummed out about this place. Might be a long review.
My dog Chanel has been going there for (I believe) 2 years now and has always looked SO good after her grooming! Also, love the fact that if I need to have doggy day care, I can watch her on the webcam feature they have.
Now, the reason for 2 stars… I dropped her off for grooming awhile back around 9 am and typically it is 2 – 2.5 hours. I didn’t get a call after waiting that time so I decided to call them. They said they were running behind and possibly another hour. Waited & called back to find out that a dog had bit the groomer that was there stepping in for the regular groomer. They told me they will comp me for the day. Totally understandable, things happen.
On Tuesday, 1÷26÷16, I dropped Chanel off at 10am and was told they are running behind and would be about 3 – 3.5 hours. No worries, I had the day off. Also, my best friends dropped their dog off at 9 am for the first time there so I was able to see how long they waited for their dog to be finished with her grooming. After 3.5 hours, I gave them a call and Dewayne (spelling?) said he would check and get right back to me. He said «another 2 hours»…what! I understand running behind but that’s 5.5 hours for my dog to be in there obviously she had water but I just didn’t understand.
After waiting ANOTHER 2 hours, I call and another women answers the phone. She said she would check with the groomer on Chanel and she came back to the phone and said it would be another 30 minutes. I asked why and she goes «I’m not sure I just got here for the day.» She seems new because I’ve never seen her before at the front desk. At this point I was so annoyed and just said «I will see you guys in 30 minutes.» I didn’t even call before those 30 minutes were over, I just drove down there.
When I got there, you could tell the girl at the front desk was annoyed and I just asked her what was going on. I made sure to ask because my friends picked up their dog after 2 hours and 45 minutes. She told me there was only 1 groomer today and they had to clean up a kennel from a dog pooping in it. I get it. Dogs get nervous. It happens. I paid and left.
I didn’t think to examine Chanel too closely at the time but later on I noticed a small cut on her neck under her jaw. then I saw another one where her collar is. I’m just so upset because I know that there was one groomer and it was a busy day but my dog shouldn’t have to go home with cuts after being there for 6 hours.

Four paws daycare continues to be an amazing place. I have taken my Smokie bear to a couple other grooming facilities and never have I been as happy as I am when I take him to Four Paws. Alex sure knows how to pick a great team, smiling faces all around. Jessica continues to be amazing and Dwayne is the perfect addition to an already awesome team. Smokie loves you all. !!!

Nope. Never again.
Recently moved to the valley and needed to find a new daycare after four years of regular visits at our beloved Wagville. Decided to try a 2-​hour test one weekend this summer and was absolutely not impressed. The place felt dark and small and the staff seemed completely uninterested. But, against my better judgement, I left my dog there. I logged onto the webcam and while I saw nothing bad happening, I also didn’t see any attendants interacting with the dogs. After 90 minutes, I decided I needed to listen to my gut and go get my girl. When I got there, I could hear someone yelling at the dogs to «shut up» and could even hear a dog Unilocaling. My dog who loves daycare couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
So, nope. Never again.

I love love love Four Paws! Its honestly the best place for pet sitting and grooming. I bring my dog here a lot and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I really feel comfortable leaving my dog here when I go away and they have a live video feed so you can check up on your pup while you’re away! Also, my dog always comes back super clean and fluffy she even smells so good!

We’ve been taking our 70 lb. lab mix, Shea to Four Paws 3 days per week for about 1 year. The staff is amazing and takes care of her as if she was their own. All of the dogs there are friendly & playful and Shea always comes home tuckered out. We’ve boarded her there only once but knew she was well taken care of. The staff even put up with us calling daily to see how she was doing :) If you’re looking for a place to give your dog the tender love and care they deserve, this is it. P. S. Jessica is very knowledgeable and is a great resource for any canine questions!

This is our first experience with doggie day care, and it’s been a good one. Sarah, Jessica, Alex and all of the crew are so caring and attentive to their canine charges. The facility is super clean. The dogs are continually supervised and look like they’re having a great time. We’ve boarded our little (well, not that little) guy a few times and he comes home happy. We also had him groomed for the first time there, and they did a very nice job.

I really liked this place until the owner would not honor their employees mistake. I was promised 15% off by the employees because I had to daycare my dog for 3 weeks spread throughout the month of April due to my film production traveling.
When it came time to pick up my dog. My dad picked her up. I left my dad the $ 200. He had to add $ 30.00 of his money while I was traveling in DC. $ 30 may not be a lot to some but for someone in his mid 70s who is on social security, it is a lot. And the staff charged him full rate over $ 230.00. Leaving him without much $ until his next SSN check. (This was the second time in same month my dog was there that employees said at drop off they would honor 15% off.)
I got back in town called them, employee said that owner would call me back. 2 – 3 weeks later I called b/​c I never heard back from owner.
Owner answer said she will deal with her employees but will not honor the 15% discount even though I was promised that. She refused to honor the mistakes her employees made but she did acknowledge that her employees did make the mistake.
Too many choices out there for dog care. I choose not to be with a company that lies.
Next time it could be something serious and seems like the owner is the type that would throw her customers under the bus to pocket a unethical profit. In this case $ 33.00.
Four Paws, you lost a paying and loyal customer due to your selfishness. I Hope it was worth it.

Great daycare, great prices, great staff.
Our two German Shepherds literally cannot wait to get in the car and hightail it out when we get to Four Paws.
The staff is incredibly sweet and attentive.
The best part, for me, is that I can watch my pups all day on the puppy cam. Not only can I stay connected let’s be honest, being on camera, visible to your clients, makes you accountable. I like knowing my dogs are being taken care of by people that know I could be watching.
One thing I notice is that they always clean up IMMEDIATELY when a dog has a mess. Nothing sits around.
And my boys come home exhausted and smelling fantastic! Don’t know why, maybe the cleaner…
I feel safe and secure with my dogs at Four Paws.

I’ve never commented on another post but I’m appalled that a pet parent, knowing this, would be upset at a vacation interruption (really? REALLY?) when being called to pick up their wounded animal. Perhaps this person should have left vet information in case of an emergency … I’d never board my animal without notifying the boarder where to take them in case of an emergency when I was NOT reachable.
And by the way, applying hydrogen peroxide is called FIRST aid because it’s the FIRST thing you do before you go to the VET.
Go Four Paws.

THE WORST doggie daycare ever!!! Staff doesn’t even know a thing about first aid care. beware!!! After reading rave reviews, we decided to give this place a try and entrust our precious dog to their care. An hour after we left our dog to their facility enroute to big sur, we received a call from them saying that we have to come back and pick up our dog so we could bring him to the vet because he hurt his leg and that the wound is still bleeding even though they have «applied hydrogen peroxide to the wound». AS IF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE WILL STOP THE BLEEDING? The staff doesn’t even know FIRST AID!!! How about applying PRESSURE TO THE WOUND?! We immediately turned around and had to cancel all our hotel/​travel reservations because this doggie daycare place cannot keep our dog SAFE.

Four Paws is awesome!
We took our little Maltichon, King Louis, in for a last minute grooming –it was awesome that they were able to accommodate us– since he was overdue.
Unfortunately, I don’t remember the females name that helped us, but she was awesome. Very helpful and talked us through the process regarding his cut, his teeth and such. The time we were given was about 3 hrs, possibly due to the other doggies before us. $ 45 seems reasonably priced for the grooming, cut of nails and rear-​end cleaning. Teeth brushing was free due to the check in.
Upon picking up our little King, we were amazed and shocked with the result! We couldn’t have been happier, he looked like a million bucks and ready to hit the town with his new image.
Whenever King Louis needs a grooming we’ll probably wind up coming back, it’s awesome place and they know what they are doing!

I’ve been taking my German Shepard to Four Paws every month for a few years for grooming and they give excellent service! Staff is always very friendly and I feel my girl is well taken care of when I’m not with her.
I also get their anestheisa-​free teeth cleaning done for Indigo and it’s always been a great experience!

I just adopted a rescued puppy and am thrilled that Fourpaws gives a 2^nd dog discount!

I can’t say enough good things about this place! I’m a dog trainer and when I have clients with pups that need to be socialized on a regular basis, I recommend Four Paws. They are very careful with their doggie introductions and closely monitor the interactions inside the facility. They know how to correctly break up any interaction that may result in aggression. Every person I have sent here has returned with a glowing review. They know their stuff at Four Paws!

Four Paws was amazing! We left our Australian shepherd there for a long weekend and had her groomed as well. She came home healthy, happy, and sweet-​smelling. Sarah was positively awesome. She answered all our questions after we toured the facility with her. We will definitely be return customers!

Years ago I came to Four Paws because of it’s location. Now I bring my two dogs here because I truly trust the girls here, Sarah and Jessica. They are amazing with all the dogs, and seem to know what everyone’s needs are. For example, my old basset boy has a bad back and is very paranoid about dogs hurting him. Sarah suggested that my senior boy go in with the small dogs, and my younger more active boy go in with the large dogs. Problem solved, and both are happy.
They are also very knowledgeable about grooming needs for different skin types and problems, and the girls always check to make sure my dogs baths are up to my standards. They know a lot about dog nutrition and the many brands of excellent food and treats available there.
My dogs care is so important to us, and they know that at Four Paws.

I made an appointment for teeth cleaning for my dog over two weeks ago. On the morning of the appointment, I called to confirm it because I had to get the timing just right as to make it to work on time. I scheduled my morning around this appointment.
The girl answering the phone at «Four paws» and I had the following exchange:
Me: hello I am confirming my appointment for this a. m at 9:30 am. (It’s 9 am at the time of my call and something told me to confirm it as I hadn’t heard anything).
Four paws: oh the lady canceled.
Me: uh, ok. So no teeth cleaning today? Were you planning on telling me?
Four paws: no she is not supposed to cancel but she did. It was just still so early I didn’t call anyone.
Me: well my appointment was in 30 minutes, were you planning on telling me she canceled?
Four paws: well I got busy.
Honestly I was so frustrated with dealing with such an unprofessional and rude person, I hung up.
No apology. No customer service. And I’m supposed to trust you with my dog???
So this review is based on my one and only and last experience with Four Paws. Never even made it through the door. And truthfully, the lady on the phone couldn’t have cared less.

Continues to be a great place for pets!
I love the hotel option and private rooms with cameras. This is great when I go away on my lavish trips and can see my pooch. Too bad he gets a bit depressed, but I would as well if I was away.
The staff here is very helpful. On the phone or in person they are very knowledgable and precise with respect to pets and how to take care of them properly. I have learned a lot. Also, there’s a large store attached to buy goodies for kids of all sizes (pets that is)’ so it’s a one stop shop for all!
