For the price, their food is great, portions are large, and service is very friendly! This is my local spot!

Haven’t being there in couple years and tonight I got very disappointed, I placed a pickup order and the food was very tasteless. No flavor on the wonton soup, the candied walnut shrimp wasn’t crunchy it was soggy with a mayonnaise like sauce that overpower the shrimp and rice, ruining the dish. The cashew chicken had no garlic, no onions no taste + flavorless chicken pieces. Lastly the spicy chili string beans wasn’t spicy at all and was missing garlic. We’re on our way to return everything.

I hate to give City Work less than 5 stars, but I’m now at that point. Have eaten here with great loyalty for 10 years. A couple of years ago, food went way downhill. Shockingly, right about the time new management bought the place. They changed out the meats and veggies to much cheaper cuts, but the pricing stayed the same or even went up. When you’ve ordered the same dish an average of once a week for a decade, you know when the meat changes from something that melts in your mouth to shoe leather that just can’t be chewed and broken down. I had to order Mongolian Beef with the pepper steak subbed in, which cost me $ 2.50 more. Bonkers. The chicken, more often than not, tastes and chews like it’s been refrigerated far too long. Hard, stringy, chewy — OLD. Bland more often than not. This saddens me greatly. I’m to the point of just never going back, because it’s pricy enough without feeling like you hit the lottery when you can chew the food. We spend an average of $ 400-$ 500/year there, I guess we’ll take it elsewhere. :( Service was always top-notch tho. Top notch.

2 stars for the fact that I’ve been coming here/ordering from here for years… Service at the restaurant is awesome and food is good. But we had a not so great experience with our last pick up this weekend. Customer service could use improvement with how they handle things. We had requested for rice and Extra hot pepper paste to be added in the order and noticed that neither were included in the boxes once we got home. We live a few minutes away but since we had already started eating, we weren’t going to drive back to pick it up. When we called and explained the situation, they didn’t even offer to deliver the missing food items… and gave my cousin attitude on the phone. Not nice, City Wok.

Superb. We ate outside at the patio tables and everything was really splendid. We had the lettuce cups and also spicy shrimp with noodles and the firecracker chicken. This place is way better than PF Changs and worlds better than Panda Express! The staff were all super nice — there were about 3 of them who waited on us. And they did not seem to mind that we sat there talking for like an hour after we were done eating!

Came here for lunch with a coworker since we work nearby, lunch specials were amazing quality, fresh, fast service !!! I would just say it maybe a little salty and heavy on the sauces, but no big deal! For the price, value and quality, amazing. One time I requested brown rice instead of white, which was an extra charge, but when I got the bill they didn’t Charge and said don’t worry about it! Why go to Panda Express nearby(no thanks, not even if I’m at the mall) when you can go to City Wok? Love the food here. Thanks City Wok, I will for sure be back! The only thing I would say, I wish the lunch specials were available for take out, but for the special, I can understand dine in only is part of that.

Very nice place with good food. I went there several times and liked the food and service each time. It is conveniently located next to jumbo juice, Starbucks and ice cream place. That works for me when i can go and cover desires for me and my daughter.

Meh. Good potstickers, fine sauces, but without the sauce, the food was bland. Got our order wrong, and tried to pass off the beef as pork. Attentive but unconvincing service with ok but not WOW food left us unimpressed.

Food was pretty good. You get ALOT of food, but it is REALLY expensive in my opinion for Chinese Food. It is made to order, not sitting in a pan under light warmers and buffet holders. They best thing about this place… they have Duck Sauce! OMG!!! As a NY’er…I could NOT find ANYPLACE in LA or OC who even knows what that is… I grabbed a handful! Counter help was prompt. Food took a while… but it is made to order. I had the veggie fried rice. It was dry. The chili strong beans were really hot and the spring rolls were REALLY greasy.(grease still dripping). I also got an extra white rice that I did NOT ask for. It was a complete waste. Overall, the food was ok.

Had lunch here recently and it was surprisingly delicious! I wasn’t expecting much, honestly. I thought this might be another random Chinese restaurant where you ordered and your food was delivered to your table. I was definitely wrong! My spicy green bean plate was fantastic. They have great lunch special prices and the customer service was really great. Our waitress was very friendly. They have a large menu so I’m looking forward to trying something else. They even honored a discount since my friend worked for NBC Universal. :)

I am updating my review because today I decided to give this place another shot. I dined in and had wonderful service from a very sweet lady. The food came out in a decent time and was good. I still say it’s a bit overpriced but this is LA. Last Review: Tastes great, but way overpriced. Also today I ordered a chicken bowl to go and after I paid was told it would be ready in 10 – 15 minutes! I was like, um ok I guess. I came back 27 minutes later to find not only was my food not ready but the order was never given to the cooks. Then I was told, «oh it only takes a few minutes to make it» after which I waited another 10 minutes and was late to my appointment! No apology was offered or any compensation for my time. Very disappointed.

Have’t been here in 2 yrs(moved away) In the area yesterday and decided to stop in. Maybe it was me and I was having an off day– but nothing I ordered tasted good to me. 1) City wok wings. Plain friend wings with an OK sauce on the side on top of a «salad» I think. 2) Crispy beef that was so sweet I had to send it back. 3) Garlic Green beans(my fav) over cooked but tasted OK. 4) City wok Shrimp. sweet but I did eat it. Over all just not a fan–

Food is delicious. Check their city wok chicken, it is quite good. Service is quick and the food has always been fresh and hot. Recommend this place for a lunch or a convenient dinner.

The food here was great. So fresh and so good. I came here a few weeks ago and they were packed. So I decided to try it again and what a success. Will be coming back soon. My only down part is that the parking lot is a bizzy one and the spaces are tight

Not much to complain. The price was reasonable. Food was not first class but it was good and big enough that not only made me full but I also had some left over. Ordered brown rice, they gave me white rice instead then brought me an extra bowl of brown rice. I just did not like our sticky table outside.

Such a let down. Waste of money, and time. ½ star I was craving Chinese food, and have been hearing things about this, plus it’s in my neighborhood, and I didn’t feel like cooking. I walk in menu is straight forward which I like. I decided on take out, placed my order, and sat at the bar next to the cash register. Perfectly in view. About 10 minutes is what the guy said I should expect. 5 minutes after I order someone comes in and orders enough for two people. He leaves, then comes back and his food is done, and I am still there. I mention to the guy that mine should have been done already. «Oh yea, what’s your name?» It had been sitting there for quite some time. it wasn’t hot anymore, and he said to me that they make the chips fresh, and that’s what took so long. I was there for 25 minutes. I also need to mention that the chips were cold. Fresh? no. Sorry. I seriously doubt it takes that long for my order. I got the WOKamole, and the Veggie Lo Mein. These things take zero time. I have had Veggie Lo Mein in a great many places. This was the worst. Seasoning was not great, and bland. The WOKamole was decent, but the chips were thin and brittle, and did not stand up well to the dip. I paid nearly $ 20 and 25 minutes of my time for this lesson on where not to eat in Studio City.

This is my go to lunch place at least twice a month. I’ve been a customer for over 5 years. The staff here is excellent and they make it so friendly and fun. I don’t even need a menu and they know exactly what I order. I get my usual with the Spinach Salad with light dressing. It has mushrooms, red bell peppers, chicken and some amazing dressing. I get some extra dressing on the side just in case it’s too light. Then I get the firecracker chicken which has the perfect amount of heat and really isn’t that spicy. You can always get some chili on the side. I almost always get my Szechwan Eggplant which is absolutely delish if ur an eggplant fan like me. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Parking is almost always a little messy. But food is definitely worth it.
