I downloaded Unilocal just to post this review. I went to Momentos with my family and the service was terrible and the food was worse. My kids ordered the chicken tenders, not only were they cold, they didn’t even look like chicken. I decided that maybe they were just having a bad night so I went again today. The service was still terrible. I ordered a Sicilian slice, which was cold, and also the tomato and mozzarella with a balsamic glaze. I posted a picture below. It was two slices of tomato, I little pile of cheese and a few dots of glaze. Oh, did I mention that it was $ 10.50 just for that? Also, I was the only person in there, so it wasn’t like they were busy. The chef came out and not only did he not say hi or ask me how my meal was, he wouldn’t even look at me. Needless to say, I won’t be going back or recommending Momentos to anyone.

We order out a lot we like to sit home with a movie etc, my husband ordered the sausage parm and I ordered the chicken fran. By the time he got home the chick Fran. Spilled some lemon juice in the car and when he brought it in and ready to eat the chicken was so tough and over done I could of called Henrik lundquist to use it in the game. Ugh !!! Guy said he would comp me a meal that is the same amount as the chicken when we order again … As if !!

Wow, what a difference a week makes! Last week the same dirty, torn menus were on the table with normally priced items listed. I usually make it to Momento’s once a week for a decent glass of wine and a side of chicken parm and salad — for about $ 15. Even as the portions continued to get smaller and smaller and the amount of sauce becomes less and less… I continued to visit this pizza parlor/restaurant. Even though the after dinner cookies are no longer included with a meal, being replaced by tiny $ 10.00 deserts, I continued to be a fan. Even though the service STINKS, often waiting for a knife and fork, sides of cheese and hot peppers, bread, no bread, etc, I ventured to Stroudsburg because it was better than most. But now prices have doubled without warning on the new, clean menus. Absolutely Outrageous! Refusing to pay an extra $ 5 for chicken parm, we ordered pasta. It came in a big decorative bowl, but measured about a cup — it was barley enough as a side. We sat and sat and waited for a napkin, knife, fork and condiments while our $ 16 bowl of pasta and sausage was getting colder and colder. Had more time to look at menu, Soup alone is the price of meal. My advice, SKIPIT. Suddenly a local pizza parlor is thinking it is a high end restaurant charging NYC prices. This pizza parlor now considers itself superior while cutting portions and raising prices. Never liked the pizza and the parm wasn’t THAT good, it was breaded chicken with sauce and cheese. What a shame. Get off that cloud and welcome your friends and neighbors back to a decent pizza place with big portions of delicious food.

All kidding asid3. don’t stop here. NONONONO they have a selection of 5 yes 5 different beers which are all pale and not one is a good choice. Staff is embarrassingly inadequate. The food is basically the same quality as the pizzaria up the road but twice the price. go to th e grocery store and buy a salad. trust me please

The food is pretty good although I’ve only tried two dishes(chicken francaise & penne alla vodka) totaling roughly $ 15 from their dinner menu. It does not come with a small salad or garlic bread but it does come with a small piece of bread. I’ve eaten in the restaurant once and an older woman that was also the hostess when we walked in served us. The service was bizarre and awkward and it just felt rushed. Probably wouldn’t dine in again but take out is worth it.

Food here is good for Stroudsburg. It’s well prepared with no mistakes and consistent in quality. The service is kind of strange. The night that we came it was around 7pm it was fairly busy, but the server was dressed in a dirty sweat suit and looked like he had blown an 8 ball of that fishscale. Smelly BO and sweat dripping off his face. Very off putting right before a meal. He went out of his way to be nice and accommodating but it took over an hour to get our entrees. And we still did not have any silverware. That took another 10 minutes after the fact. I see that they recently moved into the old Ned’s On Ninth building. Hopefully they hired an actual waitstaff this time, instead of somebody’s cokehead cousin from Bulgaria.

Homemade fettuccini and hearty tomato sauce were delicious. Ravioli in truffle butter sauce was rich and tasty. Chef/owner stopped by each table a couple of times to ask how we liked his dishes. Medium ambiance and very attentive waitstaff. Would definitely return when I’m in the are again.

This is not the Olive Garden! Instead, Momento’s is a delightful little Italian restaurant in Stroudsburg, right on 611 — tucked away off the beaten path. Careful, one could miss it, and that would be a sin! We sat in the dining room, not in the casual dining room– which serves pizza, calzones & salad. Homemade pastas are outstanding and the imaginative combinations(truffle butter and sage) only serve to make good, better. An impromptu«table visit» by Chef Nicola showed the passion and enthusiasm that goes into the food. He clearly wants patrons to engage and enjoy. From appetizers to entrees to dessert, Momento’s did not disappoint. Good service boasted by a knowledgable and friendly server– Dominique. Don’t get to the area often, but when I do, this will be a must.

Walking in there was only one other table occupied maybe that’s why the employees all stared at us when we were walking to our table? Right off the bat I felt uncomfortable. Food wasn’t bad for the price.

The food was very good. Huge portions … Love the bar and the inside décor! The only call out is presentation … My husband had chicken parm and it looked beautiful my calzone looked crazy! Tasted delicious but def lost a star for the look … Oh we tried a slice of pizza also it was very good! Not many places around here know how to make a thin crispy crust! Yummy!

Stopped in for an early dinner. I asked what fish was fresh and tuna steak was suggested. It was served with spinach and herbed roasted fingerling potatoes. The fish was excellent and veggies were ordinary. Since the tuna was on special it was not on the menu. The price of the plate was a shocking $ 37.00, a cost above any tuna steak I have previously ordered in a fine dining establishment. Will I return? Maybe and if I do, will check the prices.

Had tried several times to get a reservation since the new location was opened up, but they were booked each time. Finally got a reservation this past Friday. Restaurant is very nice inside and food was excellent both in preparation and presentation. Our waiter was Vinny who we have known from another restaurant, and he is excellent, a true professional. Drinks were very good and Robin the bartender(whom we also know from another restaurant) is always attentive and makes excellent martinis. The desert was top notch and home made. I had the poached pears, with chocolate moose and it was fantastic. It’s always a nice touch when the owner/Chef comes out to ask how your dinner was, and Nicola was very nice when he did so. We will definitely be back. Keep up the excellent service experience and food and this restaurant will be very successful!

I’ve eaten at the old location many times and have always enjoyed the food, now with that being said we tried the new location last night. We were happy to see that the place was packed and didn’t mind that we had to wait 45 minutes to get a table because the people that run this place are very nice and we are happy they are busy while so many restaurants are closing down. The service was good and she told us it going to be a wait for our food because the kitchen was slammed. 30 minutes later our mozzarella sticks arrived and were good. 35 more minutes and my 19.00 risotto arrived on a huge plate, the only problem was there were 2 ice cream scoops of risotto on the plate. 19.00 for an appetizer sized portion. The seating was very tight and the people on both sides felt the need to get involved each time something was brought to the table. I understand it’s a new place but don’t hammer us with these tiny portions on fancy plates but serve the soda in a paper cup. I like the food and the owners seem nice but last night was a miss.

To the harsh critics; give these guys a little room to grow into their new venue before you slander them publicly. I’ve had fantastic food from them at the old pizza place and from the new restaurant… Whether it’s dining in, take out, or delivery. Now, while any restaurant should be receptive to constructive criticism, a NEW establishment should be given a mulligan or two before being ragged on in the«press». Express your gripes to the establishment, share them with your friends… fine, but why try to tamper with their business before they even get off the ground?

They have done a great job of remodeling this place from what it previously looked like. They have been open less than a month so you need to take into consideration they are just«ramping up.» The three areas I like to comment on are atmosphere, service and of course the food. I’ll start with atmosphere. As mentioned they have done a nice job remodeling and I like how they have made the bar«split» into two areas of the restaurant, nice touch. It’s a little too early to say it has their own«special touch» but I’m sure it will eventually. For now it’s comfortable and cozy! As for the service it was very attentive right when we came in the door so that’s a plus. It also seems they will«tag team» your table which makes for a nice experience as well. Again since they are just starting they are getting used to the flow of things and putting systems in place. Service was a little slow but definitely not due to effort, just due to getting things«ironed out.» As for the food I tried the Gnocchi, one of my favorites when I can find it on a menu at places. It was very good, fresh and tasty. My friends also had the same dish and they enjoyed it as well. I should also mention that the prices were very fair in my opinion. I’m looking forward to returning and trying more of their dishes as I’m sure they will be good. For the time being give yourself a little extra time to eat, which should be fine, it’s not a fast food restaurant! Go eat and enjoy the company you are with!

I hate to leave this review because I think Chef Nicola is very talented and this is the first time I have ordered from his no location, but I must be honest. I had high expectations of this new location but was very disappointed tonight. I figured the restaurant would be busy on the first Friday night at the new location so my wife and I ordered something basic to take out. We ordered a chicken parmigiana hero, a cheese calzone and an order of garlic knots. The bread was horrible and was chewy like gum. The chicken cutlets were so thin and were deep fried, not what I expected from a pizzeria/restaurant owned by a chef with the credentials and experience of Chef Nicola. Also, I have never had a cheese calzone that oozed that much oil. The garlic knots were not knots and were excessive oily and tasteless. I am so ill since I’ve finished this meal! I want Chef Nicola to succeed and am sure his food is better than this. I would like to think that some of this may be attributed to some of the speed bumps that come with a new opening. I hope he and his staff are open to constructive criticism and make some changes because this area sorely needs a quality Italian restaurant. I also hope that he will have a more extensive dinner and dessert menu for the restaurant that is different from the take out or pizzeria portion of his business. We will give the location another shot after it settles a bit by dining in the restaurant and hope things are different. Again, he is obviously a very hard working Chef with an extensive and very impressive resume. Please Chef Nicola fix it, we want your restaurant to be the go to place to eat in the area. Best of luck.

To this date I still dream of Nicola’s cooking. I travel a lot, but I never found a restaurant like Momento Pizzeria. Leaving aside the amazing pizza, the seasonal menu is out of this world! The price vs quality combination cannot be found anywhere else. I mean, you get gourmet 5 star cuisine at 1 star prices. I hope one day Nicola will move to Denver.
