The customer service was very good as I got an appointment the same day I needed one on a pretty emergency like situation. They fit me right and and the brake job took the time they estimated at the beginning. However, my bill was quite a sticker shock for what I thought would have been a simple brake job. I could have gone to advance auto parts right across the street for pennies on the dollar. But they did do exactly what they said they would do and my brakes work great!!!

This is what happened readers digest version.
First the negative
My tires were cracking BAD Michelin’s. Low miles on them as the truck sits some. Sometimes this causes sidewall cracking.
1) The tire numbers and wear told I had residual warranty
2) First Windsor stated I was at a low percentage of wear on tire and I would receive a large percentage credit toward new tires.
3)next was told there was a error and there was low wear but there was a calculation for «Age of tire» and thus a reduction down to a low percentage residual value.
4) I Was after a Michelin replacement price quote and I was looking at some 500 some odd Dollars out of pocket after the $ 100 some odd credit, final cost. After a Wow from me I was informed another brand was a option. If i did not want Michelin. I chose another brand and made the appointment for replacement.
5) The tires were replaced so we put 5 or ten dollars in the loaner (even though we just drove it 5 mile. Thought it only fair considering the Great add on feature of a Loaner, and we went to pick up the vehicle. This part was what got me looking into the warrantee data on line. I, Was informed I lost my warrantee credit (this was not how it was presented to me before this time) because I chose another brand I did not want to embarrass myself or my family (15YO daughter was with me), I wanted to find out the facts first.
So… I went on the Michelin web site that night. The site quoted wear only without calculation for age. My contact to Michelin the following day verified My Information and Low wear, high residual calculation «Some 500 Plus dollars» was due to me in warranty refunds.
The Michelin Rep was clear and concise. Also, they were great at dealing with the Store and getting me my credit. I am happy I questioned this information, Contacted Michelin, spoke about the transaction and detail with Michelin about Windsor Tire.
So… In the end I received over 500.00 back as a credit. I never received a apology or a call from the Windsor tire Manager (only interaction was with the Windsor Rep that’s name I will not mention) that I requested by email to Windsor. I was offered a free Alignment for my trouble (that I would not take).

I have to ask, Was I and am I now unreasonable with my expectation and negative view and at worst what happened was a mistake on the Windsor reps part. (perhaps. So every other person before me lost money on a warrantee credit too? So they were compensated now after reviewing this error by the rep and management?) No one is 100% on 100% of the time Day in and Day out. To think this IS unreasonable. So a look back on past sales receipts is or may be a good thing?
5 stars on quality of workmanship and Loved the Loaner Car… PT cruiser Cute Car And Frankly I loved this place until the above.
Perhaps it is just me and I hope it is.

Trusted my 06 Chevy HHR to Chris to address an undercarriage grinding noise coming from front passenger side in addition to an intermittent check engine light coming on throwing code P0011 with accompanying symptoms of hard pulling when accelerating from 1^st to 2^nd gear. 1700 dollars was the estimate quoted: right control arm, exhaust valve timing sensor, and oh yea, the brakes need to be replaced in the front AND back! No wait, I am told after a visceral reaction, the rear brakes don’t need replacing so 1300. Agreed to work and paid 1300 dollars and on my merry way…
One week later check engine light comes on and hard pulling returns. I understand that people, including mechanics are imperfect, but I also believe in promptly admitting to mistakes and making right on them. Here’s where they fell down on that…
1) when I called ahead to give them a heads up that I’d be returning to have them re-​address the problem I asked about a loaner or at minimum, a lift to a relatives house to borrow an interim car. Bill tells me ok, Chad tells me no when I arrive and to call Über!!! Seriously?
2) call from Chad later that day to tell me that check engine light went off so they can’t re-​address (even though I provided him with a snapshot picture of Code thrown the day before of P0011). His suggestion/​reaction? Take car back and bring back YET again when light comes on! When I asked if he would be comfortable with my going on record of his saying to take the car back, he backs down and tells me that he’ll keep car until light goes on.
Three days pass and no word. GM, Chris, tells me that he’s willing to try putting in a different sensor but it’ll be an additional charge.
If I could give this shop negative 5 stars I would. They are quick to take your money but slow to make amends on misdiagnosis of problems and seize this as opportunity to make more money. And the fact that they are willing to give you your car back in unsafe condition? Disgraceful. Plan on pursuing formal complaint with BBB.

Still filling my tires every two weeks, I should just go somewhere else and buy new ones but that just seems ridiculous on tires that aren’t even two years old.
Two weeks ago they replaced all four sensor and pressure valves ($ 600!). And I already had to go back today because they are all down another couple pounds. No explanation, no «we’ll check into them» just a top off and assurance that it was free. Well of course it’s free you didn’t do anything!

I had a wonderful experience buying tires at Windsor Tire. I was calling around getting price quotes and this was the cheapest place by far in the area. Others were $ 50 more and that was after talking them down from their original price. I planned my service with a representative named Chad. He was helpful with picking the right tire because I was actually looking at the wrong tires to begin with. I had 2 brand new DWS Continental on my car and was looking for 2 DW. I thought the name just changed but Chad informed me that the DWS stands for Dry Wet Snow. Even when I came in I had an appointment that was never put into their system, but my care was serviced right away no hassle at all and the place was busy.
I recently moved to the Canton area. Back at my home state my best friend’s farther was a mechanic and he would just install tires I would buy online at Tire Rack. So I start off calling most places to see how much they just charge for installation because tires are usually a heck of a lot cheaper to buy on your own and just to get them installed. The price Chad gave me was less then the price of the tires online + the cheapest installation cost. Overall this place had some great customer service and I would recommend anyone looking to buy new tires to come and take a look.

Honest folks at fair prices. Went there for tires and an oil change. I’ll probably go back for all my regular service

Let me start off by saying, I am not terribly good with cars, and I do not claim to know too much about them. However, I try to understand as best I can whenever I have an issue, such as the one I had last week. (this also relates to the Windsor tire in Norwood, however, they don’t have their own Unilocal page).
I drive a 2004 Mazda 6 wagon, and on Tuesday, October 30^th, my car began chugging and driving erratically, with the check engine light on throughout.
I took it to the Windsor tire to have it read and see what was going on. They mentioned the number 4 cylinder was misfiring and needed to be replaced. They also mentioned that due to the position of the cylinder, which was located in the back behind the engine, the labor was intensive, approx 2 – 2.5 hours. Not knowing a lot about cars, I agreed to have the work done, a total of approx $ 353, with about half of that being billed for labor.
Unfortunately for me, a few days later, my check engine light came on again. I brought it back to Windsor Tire to have it assessed, however, their technician was not available that day. After asking around, I took it to another reputable shop in the area. Turns out the catalytic converter needed to be replaced, which, while expensive, is not the reason I write this review.
The reason I bring this up is when they took a look at the engine, they mentioned that while half of the cylinders are difficult to access, the number 4 cylinder, which was brand new, is not one of them. It was actually in the front part of the engine, which is very easy to access and therefore does not require 2 hours of labor. They in fact stated that it should take no more than 30 minutes to complete the job. They then proceeded to show me the new cylinder, which was clear to see given it was the only one that I have had to replace, and how quickly and easily it could be accessed in my vehicle.
I was blown away, and frankly, I felt very deceived by the people at Windsor. I felt very confident when leaving there after getting the cylinder replaced, and even brought my car back. I thought they were fair and very reputable. Had I not gone somewhere else that day out of necessity, I never would have discovered the fact that I had been overcharged by about $ 100. Not only that, the staff there made it a point of telling me how difficult the cylinder was to access.
I usually do not write reviews, but this is an exception. If you had asked me exactly one week ago to fill this out, I would have given Windsor Tire a perfect grade. What a difference one week, and a little knowledge makes. I cannot say I will ever bring my car back there, or recommend that anyone else do the same. I do not know what will come of this, but I do hope that either someone from the company can explain what happened to me and make it right, or at the very least, a customer reads this and doesn’t make the same mistake I did.

So after my not-​so-​good experience with Windsor Tire, the owner of the place called me. He was an extremely nice guy and was very apologetic for my unfortunate sequence of events with the last service. He ordered me a new rim that very same day and was ready to install it shortly after. They took care of my car in an hour and everything seems to be working great now!

I’ve used this shop over the past three years for various problems with 2 different volkswagon Jettas. They’ve always been honest, up front and willing to work with me on anything — including installing parts that I’ve purchased myself. I’ve had everything from breaks, tires, and exhaust to alignments and suspension work done here and have been satisfied each time. I’d still be using them if I didn’t move an hour away.
