Too crowded slow service, food was okay, but to cheap with the tomato sauce! But the biggest drawback of all are the 19 inch TVs straight out of 1985! Try to watch the big game on one of their tiny TVs!

I’ve been a fan of the 9s for more years than I can remember. While on a visit to NE my cousin recommended we meet here as it is near her work. I arrived early so I could enjoy an adult beverage at the bar, have some popcorn and catch up on Monday night football. The 9s have always had decent pub food, good drinks, and good service. Check, check, and check. I started with the seafood chowdah and my entrée was the baked scrod. Both were fine. Service was spot on throughout. The 9s has always been a great place for a few cocktails and a decent meal, it’s great things have not changed after all these years…

My experience at this restaurant this weekend just went from bad to worse. I was in MA for a mini vacation with my best friend. We are both widowed parents and it was a mothers day gift to ourselves. On our second night it was my turn to choose where we ate. I was on a very tight budget. My daughter works at 99. I know it to be good food and a good value. It was more my budget in the area. And I knew it was prime rib night. Another major factor in me choosing to go there. My friend had only gone to one once years before and remembered not caring for it. I assured her she would not be disappointed. It started off awkward. There were two young girls at the hostess podium. To our left there were four elderly folks. They appeared to be waiting for a table. So we patiently waited for a hostess to get our info. Instead they stared at us. Soon a elderly woman exited the restroom and joined the other small group to my left. And they all left. Realizing this we took one step forward to the podium. Then one of the girls grabbed menus and seated us. Very quickly a boy stepped up and asked us what we would like to drink. Everything was going smoothly. He took our order. We asked for seperate checks as all each of us had were credit cards. I order my prime rib. The king cut medium rare. I did the just run it through a warm room joke. And got the mash and salad with it. With a bubble green tea. Withing 5 minutes our food was up. I was disappointed in my rib the minute I saw it. It was a end piece. Was short, but tall and grisly. And was well done. I took a chance that maybe it would be at least medium in the middle I take my bite, It was like taking a bite of dry pot roast. I was so disappointed. I have never complained about food anywhere before in my 42 years. I was not going to embarrass us and say anything. When he came to our table to see if everything was ok I asked him for a to go box. He saw that I had only taken one bite out of the meat. He asked me if something was wrong. I said It was just a little over cooked was all. He looked at it, then looked at my order which was Medium Rare. He goes«ya, that isn’t even close Let me go get you a new one» When he returned a minute later his demeanor had changed. He placed a small carton down in front of me. He said«You can have this meat no matter what you do. But we won’t cook it medium rare and that is being taken off the menu. You can eat this for free or you can pay for something else. No matter what that will be removed from your bill«: So now I can’t even have Medium? It is dry and overdone or none at all? Why would I choose another item. My friend was done eating at this point. A couple in the corner were looking over at it all. I just wanted to leave. I tell Him that I am all set. And it was no problem He went to get our bills. I open the container in front of me with the corpse in it. My mashed potatoes that I had not touched, my aujus sauce and my salad were gone. I guess if I wasn’t going to order something else I was not going to get that. Better to throw it away than do anything like that. Whatever. I was going to leave the waiter a extra $ 10 when I paid for my bubble tea. I was out looking for my dinner, not a hand out. This wasn’t his fault. He had been fast and friendly. He brings the check to the table. I look and my bubble tea was on my friends bill. AS I said, we both only had credit cards for this trip. Now to further embarrass me I had to put my drink on her tab. I wasn’t going to put a tip on her card as well. I dug into my purse. Pulled out $ 1.06 in change and left it. I thought of leaving him a note that it would have been much better had he not asked me what the big deal was of keeping«JUST a TEA» on her card. I quickly exited to my car. This is my review of this chain alone. The ones here in NH are very nice. And they serve me my rib any way I want it. Or would inform me otherwise. Typically a great restaurant. My friend and I got a good laugh in our room later. We had a funeral for that meat.

Skins and wings is are amazing! The 99 has the most amazing buffalo fingers and potato skins. The burgers and beer list is amazing. This place has something for everyone. The servers are fantastic and the quality of selection is second to none. Whether you want Italian, American, or a Caribbean dish, you will not be disappointed. The menu is very extensive, it is perfect for all types of parties

We visit the various 99’s quite often. The food is decent, the staff are fine, the atmosphere is usually good. My only complaint is the physical menus themselves. They are too big, there are too many pages, there are too many pictures, and they are arranged very poorly. We spend 10 minutes flipping through the various pages trying to find what we want. I know what a cheeseburger or a turkey club looks like… I don’t need a picture. I wish they would go to a «traditional» text-only menu, just arranged as appetizers, sandwiches, salads, entrees, and desserts. Half the time I know what I want and can’t find it.

Ugh. I haven’t been to the 9s since they changed their menus. While it appears as though they’ve gone in a more«healthy» direction as other chains have, their food is nothing more than frozen. I’m pretty sure my salmon wasn’t even salmon as it was white inside; I couldn’t even force myself to finish it. It was that gross. My fiancé got the buffalo wings and he seemed to have no complaints. I had his celery sticks, which were definitely months olds– they were mushy inside? EW. The service was okay. I’m pretty sure the waitress forgot about us though, and she kept shoving the check in my fiancé’s face despite the fact that it was MY credit card and I was paying. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. On my way out, I stopped into the restrooms. So disgusting– I’ve seen better at a gas station. Needless to say, I probably won’t be back to a 99, and definitely not this location.

I will start off by saying there is no good restrount chain in all of Massachusetts this restrount stunk too it all began this time with getting a terrible waitress I went with my gf we get in there and we don’t have to wait we sit down right away but we sat next to a party of loud old folks and trust me at least 80 percent of the people eating were old people it’s like a nursing home starring at you in 3d so we get this horrible waitress who gave us are drinks my gf got wine I got a coke and it tasted like watered down tolit water I got the baked stuffed clams for a appetizer and the dumb waitress did not bring it over until are main dinner came so by that time it was cold and tasted like crap for dinner I got the country fried chicken and it was fried to much so I ate it but it was to crispy and dry my gf got the top Sirloin steak and she said it was the worst piece of meat she ever had well done fatty crap so I got the waitress to get the manager over and I waited 10 minutes for him to come over and when he did I said I need a refund for my meals and after arguing with him I got him to take the steak off the bill for dessert I got hot fudge sundae they gave us no cherry not enough fudge and when they bought it out to us it was all melted and was crap so I paid the bill gave the crappy waitress five bucks for her trouble walked out and they said have a good night and I said back it was and not a word back horrible place to eat 99 sucks folks never go there

If you’re in MA and haven’t been to the Nines then stop in when your hungry. Yes my GF works there but Gold fever wings(boneless) is an addiction of mine… Right under black tar heroin. I’m kidding… I’ve never done heroin and I’ve had better chicken… But I would push my own mother off a bridge just for an order of the Gold fever wings. It’s unique and cannot be duplicated.

Well I never had a problem with dining in here. Note to self if you ever order food to go prepare to be disappointed. I live right down the road 5minutes tops. By the time I go home the burger was destroyed by greese; needless to say it had to be eatin without the buns. The boneless wings were cold and god awful. Worst part was the french fries my girlfriend had legit SIX fries to go with her soggy burger. Needless to say if you want take out food id recommend Burger King up the road a little. After that experience I now go out of my way to north reading to go to Chilies.

We visit a few times per year. We’re not a fan of chains but every once in a while we do the local easy option of the 99. Today we had a gift card and thought Lobster Salad Rolls would be a treat. The lobster was good not quite colossal as the menu says but for $ 15.99 with fries and slaw I wasn’t expecting Kelly’s. What really made this meal suck was the roll. How do you screw up a grilled hot dog roll? Two ways: They are using something funky to «butter» the roll. Maybe it’s this location but this substance tasted rancid. It was bitter tasting and disgusting so we ate the lobster only. They used the ass end of the roll package. How do you grill a piece of crust? A cook with some common sense would at least trim the crust off or not use it. It looks like crap, is too chewy and doesn’t grill. Do they also use the ends of a loaf of bread for sandwiches. Back to Kelly’s.

Favorite: Seasoned salmon with asparagus(additional charge but worth it). Food is consistent and they do a really good job hiring nice servers. I can’t stand their parking lot… Cars take a right into their parking lot fast off of 28 North. Always be on the lookout after you have dinner and are crossing the the parking lot to your car for that fast driver coming in.

I’ve been here many times over the years, with the most recent visit being last night. Our group got the buffalo wings and potato skins app… classic bar food, but good. They accommodated the special request to put the buffalo sauce on the side(for the spicy food hater in our group), which was good. My meal was delish — I had the baked salmon with spices only — no glaze. It came with grilled tomatoes, asparagus, and broccoli. The salmon came out perfectly; the way I can never get it at home! I appreciated this healthy low-cal option after having had those fried apps and some popcorn. All of my dining companions were equally happy with their meals. The last time I was here my drinking partner and I got frozen margaritas, which weren’t the best of the best, but they were really really good for a cheap, random, mid-week lunchtime buzz! Ahh, margaritas… next time maybe I will try a margarita(or three) with some nachos… mmm…cheese…

All ahead seating, decent prices, and my favorite steak tips around. I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed this place before, I’ve eaten lunch and dinner here countless times. It used to be a Denny’s back in the day and every once in awhile I get flashbacks of those days… stopping in for late nite food on my way home from nights out in Boston. But I digress! For as much as I like to try new things and new food, I get the steaktips nearly every time I come here… for 10+ years. They are reliable, and their servers are friendlier than most too. Rapsy, boston accented waitresses who laugh too loud: exactly the kind of waitress I would want to be! They’ll make you genuinely want to smile.

If yu read my previous review from today you can guess this is where we went after leaving the previous place disgusted. Exact opposite experience. We settled into the Bar area in a booth and were quickly approached and placed our drink and appetizer order. After delivering our drinks(two Frosty cold Beers) we placed our food orders. The appetizer was buffalo Chicken Flatbread served with lettuce crumbles of Blu Cheese and two sauces– delicious. Next came our main entrees, Sirloin Tips and Chicken Tenders.(I substituted smashed potato’s for fries) The tips were seasoned and cooked to perfection as were the tenders. Great food Friendly fast service. Great dining experience. Hard to beat that.

This might be one of the worst 99’s I’ve been to. — beer lines were frozen when we were there. nothing on draft — bar service was awful — took 25 minutes to get our check when we were done We’d rather drive the extra few minutes and go to the one on route 1 in Saugus.

Good food, decent prices and a very chipper waitress named Erin. The only downside of our lunch excursion was the french onion soup. Really, it was more like a french onion STEW, hardly any broth, so I wanted to send it back but hubbie didn’t want to stop eating so I just let him finish it off. He had their meatloaf, which, unfortunately came with bbq sauce on it. Will try to remember to ask for NONE of that, thank you very much. It was juicy but the bbq sauce overwhelmed it. Lots of TVs around for any type of attention deficit disorder.

This place always brings Bill Belichick to mind: It is what it is. You can be sure there’ll be decent food, reasonable prices, a longer wait than they promised, some dick talking loudly on a cell phone; some over indulged, Ritalin-stuffed kid kicking the back of his seat throughout the meal; delicious desserts; a table full of teenagers laughing inappropriately loudly at everything. In general, an OK place for an OK meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my smothered steak tips on Wednesday night. They were cooked exactly to order and the marinade was, as they boast, so good I really did want to lick the plate. The French fries were hot, crispy and so nicely seasoned that I did not even reach for the ketchup(but did note it’s a house brand. Feh! Imaginary points off for not using Heinz!) But really, that half thimble full of Cole slaw? That ain’t a side dish, that’s a garnish. Dish it up or cut it out!
