So, my ten year old in-the-canal devices were losing their ability to help with my hearing loss. Not in a humor to spend 5k or so at one of the Hearing aid specialty shops, I decided to check out Costco while in their store. Made an appointment, had a complete hearing test, and was out the door within a few days with great new devices at less than half the price of the specialty shops. Here’s the kicker, found out that I could get a partial re-imbursement from my insurance but needed a prescription from my family doctor. He referred me to an audiologist, who gave me the exact same hearing tests I had at Costco, and when I overlaid the results with that of Costco’s test that they provided me with copies of, the results were virtually identical.
