My review is also on the great Stinson Beach Lady Sheriff doing her job. Just witnessed her flagging a motorcycle to pull over for wrongly trying to pass traffic. He was mouthing off to her and she kept her cool telling him to look at her and to listen to what she was saying. Great job lady sheriff

Our daughter and son-​in-​law held their wedding reception for 130 people at Stinson Beach Community Center (SBCC) at the end of May 2015 — it was Spectacular! The Center is beautiful with a great layout, kitchen, lighting, sound system and projector. In addition there is an outdoor back patio area that is perfect for a bar set up. Tables and chairs are available for use and included in the venue fee. SBCC is a special place but more then that Mary Greenwood and Toby make it that special place! They provided us with a wealth of information, they were also flexible and very supportive throughout the entire planning process including and especially the day of. Their help was invaluable in making the wedding day reception everything our daughter and son-​in-​law dreamed of. They were very patient with every question and concern we had and answered them in a professional and personal way. They were such a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend the center as a wedding reception venue!!!

My wife and I had our wedding reception at the community center last month and it turned out to be an excellent choice for us. The location is great… the drive into Stinson from Mill Valley is beautiful with spectacular coastal views, especially when it’s a clear day. The community center is only about a ¼ mile from the beach, near a great hiking trail that starts with walk across a small bridge (we took some wedding pics here) with lush greenery, and it’s near a creek that you can hear from the nice sized lighted patio area. There’s also a playground on the side of the center that was great for the kids. From the outside the center there’s scenic mountain views. It’s also located near all the hotels in Stinson Beach which was convenient for us and our guests.
We also liked that the community center offered: a full kitchen with a large industrial fridge where we could store some food and drinks, tables and chairs, a large retractable screen for our projected slideshow, several different lighting options, 3 restrooms, an amplified sound system with a connection for an iPod (although we didn’t use this since we hired a DJ who had his oun system), and an option to reserve the day before for setup.
The contact person, Mary, was also very friendly and accomodating.

We loved our wedding location. The chapel is adorable, has some beautiful arches and greenery, and was perfectly intimate for our 120ish guests. It has a working organ, which we did not use.
The community center is a blank canvas with good bones: Wood floors, exposed wooden beams, huge fireplace. I was a bit worried that it was too bare, but our planner suggested simple market lights and floor lights, an that’s all it took to make the place glow.
The back patio was perfect for cocktail hour and other such revelry.

Stinson Beach itself is such a great destination — out of town but still close by.
Mary, the manager is kind and warm and very understanding. She can be a little hard to get in touch with, so don’t expect her to be able to meet you if you suddenly decide to drop by the site. Give her some advance notice and she is very helpful. After the ceremony she was outside the chapel and gave me a great hug — what a sweetheart! That about epitomizes the homey, small town feel of the Stinson Beach Community Center.
If you’re looking for slick, high-​end hotel-​type sophistication, look elsewhere. If you are going for a warm, organic, intimate vibe, definitely give this place a look.
Oh and and they have extended their hours so we were able to end the reception at 11.

I got married at the SBCC last weekend and what a great venue! The manager Mary, is great and the space was so fun to work with. Very charming and they have tables and chairs you can use for your events.
The fully working kitchen meant we could also rent the space for our Friday night party too where my husbands family cooked the whole meal! all in all a great place in a great town.

I have my wedding reception at the community center. It’s a great space and they were easy to work with. It’s kind of rustic with a cute patio. Nothing too fancy. Although, it would be easy to dress up the space if that’s what you wanted.
The only drag is that you have to turn off the music by 10:30 PM because of noise ordinances… would have been nice to dance just a little longer! But, we knew that ahead of time, so I shouldn’t complain.
