Piazza D’Angelo is a family run business with a long history. In 1980, two brothers from the southern Italy moved to Marin with dreams of opening an authentic Italian restaurant. The dream came true a year later when co-owners Domenico and Paolo Petrone opened the now upscale trattoria Piazza D’Angelo.

Meet the Manager

Executive Chef Andrea G.

Manager

Andrea Giuiliani started his culinary journey in Venice at the age of 13. Within months his passion for cooking was recognized and he was promoted to third chef; crafting homemade pastas, salads and entrees for tourists and locals alike. Andrea then traveled northern Italy and worked in various restaurants including Gran Baita, Club Moreno, Da Omar, Mondschein, Al Ponte di Mazzoncini, Cantinetta Lispida and La Grava.

From there, Andrea studied with the President of the Culinary Association of the Veneto region, then completed one year of Sommelier courses to further develop his understanding of how food and wine complement each other and the dining experience.

Andrea then set his sights on the United States. He moved to the Bay Area in 2005 and began working in the Peninsula’s finest restaurants.

As Executive Chef since 2011, Andrea’s rich, varied experiences and culinary achievements have broadened and enhanced the offerings from Piazza D’Angelo’s kitchen.
