Visited on: February 72013 This bar on the Strip has a historical claim to fame: its stage was where Garth Brooks gave his debut performance(which was reported to have been poorly-received), and you can still see the stage there. Other than that, there’s nothing special about this bar. It’s a smoking bar, it’s old-looking, it’s dark and dirty inside, and it looks like it’s falling apart, and in dire need of renovation.

Divey — smokey — where the locals hang out. Decent juke box and pool tables. Great memories hanging out with our family — who are THE regulars.

Willies used to have a beer buffet. It was $ 5 to get in and coin beer all night. Any coin gets you a beer. They also have karaōke night on Wednesdays and live bands on other nights. Great place to meet people if you’re new in town.

A great bar to chill at, no matter the time of day. Whether it’s Homecoming weekend and you stop in at 3 p.m. or if you make this your Friday night destination, Willie’s is a sure bet and a rich, historical staple on «The Strip,» also known as Washington St. Here you can hear live music of all kinds. The crowd can be a bit mixed, since this is a local favorite for people who have long left academia. But, that’s no fault of Willie’s. After all, not every bar in this cowpoke town caters to college brats. That’s what makes Willie’s so cool. It has a distinguished personality and strong draw for people of all shapes and sizes.
