YES, you CAN learn an instrument! Let me show how learning an instrument can make you happier and healthier.
As a physical therapist and music educator with over ten years of experience, I have the unique ability to combine a comprehensive music education with the management of the physical demands of playing. Private lessons are in my comfortable home studio in Sterling, VA.
I offer:
Private violin, viola, beginning piano, beginning voice, music theory lessons for children and adults, those with special needs and those with discomfort playing these instruments.
Evaluations of needs and skills to assist those with special needs in lesson planning or instrument selection.
Audition preparation.
Lessons via Skype.
Lessons in French or Spanish
History
Established in 2014.
My physical therapy and music careers have been intertwining themselves all my life. Sterling Music for All aims to fully realize the potential of this novel combination. I aim to make a niche for myself in the area of non traditional students, for example those with special needs, retirees, adults who have always wanted to play and those looking for lessons in Spanish or French.
I am excited to begin my music studio this January 2014 and help ALL aspiring students reach their highest potential!

In Gaithersburg, MD, I grew up singing, listening to jazz and banging on my father’s drum set. I received my master of physical therapy degree in 2001 from Ithaca College where I remained deeply entrenched in music. I played violin in the Ithaca College and University of Rochester Symphony Orchestras. I went on to specialize in pediatric physical therapy honing my skills most recently at a wonderful out patient facility called Good Beginnings in Herndon, VA.
After some intense soul searching, I realized I would always regret not having studied music. I received my bachelors in music education with a focus in instrumental strings from the University of Colorado at Boulder in May 2012. While at CU Boulder, I used my PT knowledge to aid my fellow musicians while studying violin and all band and orchestra instruments.
I live with my husband and three month old son. As a newcomer to Virginia, I am excited to begin my music studio!
