Established in Ashburn Virginia in 2002, The Mintons Academy of Music is now in its 13^th year of educating and inspiring more than 350 students per week. Throughout our 13 year history, what has set The Mintons Academy apart from other music teaching facilities is our philosophy that music is for everyone. We firmly believe that anyone can learn to play. With a team of 19 instructors and staff, our expertise in private and group lessons has made The Mintons Academy a place were young and old, beginners and advanced players, can come together to create and learn the language of music. Our mission is to continue to empower students through education and to give them the tools and abilities to make their own music.

We teach drums, guitar, piano, flute, sax, violin, voice, trombone, trumpet, and more!

Mintons was established in 2002 in Ashburn, VA. We are still in Ashburn growing bigger and better everyday.

Meet the Business Owner

Larry M.

Business Owner

In 2002 Larry won an Emmy Award for his work during the week of ⁹⁄₁₁. As a composer/​publisher and member of ASCAP, his music has been heard on commercials and television shows, including Dateline NBC and Tom Brokaw specials. Larry Minton has been a professional musician for 35 years. He has performed and recorded with many professional musicians, including Elliot Easton of THE CARS and Bruce Kapler of the CBS Orchestra. His association with the Loudoun County school system has helped to make him one of the most «in demand» drum and percussion teachers in Northern Virginia today.
