Comfort Inn Staten Island

Cleaning staff is loud as hell! Could not even concentrate on work when I was in my room, so I had to go down to their business center.

Stayed here for four days on vacation to visit my daughter. Great hotel. Staff at front desk were very helpful. Sean was great. Helped us with directions. The young lady in the daytime was excellent as well.
The rooms are clean and quiet. Bed was so soft and the shower was heavenly. The room has a mini fridge. The business center was ok. except for the computers were really slow. I didn’t go in the fitness center but from what I saw the equipment looked brand new. Had a nice selection of machines in there. On the same floor as the business center and gym is the breakfast area. The coffee and tea are on tap ²⁴⁄₇ which is very nice. I never made it to the continental breakfast that is included however.
Next door are two other hotels. One of the hotels has a bar and restaurant we ate at. The food and wine were great.
Parking is limited. That’s the only bad thing I can say. Overall a great stay.

Got stuck in S.I. for two nights for a last minute business meeting. I usually stay at the Hampton Inn or the Hilton Garden, but they had no rooms available. After seeing the alternatives, I quickly snapped up an available room at the comfort inn.
The room given to me was the smallest room I have ever had for business. Ever. It couldn’t have been more than 13×13, which is a major drag for a business traveler, as this is where we work for the day. That said, I have stayed in much worse hotels in my career.

Parking — this hotel shares parking with two other Holiday Inn establishments. Not enough parking, but was free.
Rate — very reasonable
Safety — seems like a decent area at the end of a road.
Staff — seemed very very pleasant — no complaints
Bed — comfortable
Cleanliness — room was a little beat up, but clean
Towels — for a lower-​mid hotel, the towels were pretty good (things us travelers like).
Shower — hot and great water pressure
Pillows — worked for me
Grounds — I was lucky and on the 5^th floor overlooking an old portion of the landfill. Was green rolling hills and trees. Nice view. The rest of the grounds is pavement and hotels.
Plugs — plenty (thank you)
TV /​selections — good
Fridge — yes
Microwave — yes, but was on the floor under the desk — haha (it worked, as I used it). I give them credit for having it — so a positive.
Sound/​etc — was relatively quiet. I was at the end of the hall, and only really heard a few doors slam, and could smell the smoke from people smoking in the staircase.
Negative categories
room size — postage stamp. I looked at the hotel map, and my room was the smallest on it. If I was just sleeping there, and not working it would have been fine.
Desk /​work area — horrible
Elevator — one small sloooooooooooow one for the whole building. Ugh.
Iron /​ironing board — guys… get real ironing boards. Seriously.
Vending — only two with little selection.
Wifi — was free but basically useless due to the slow speed
I did not try the food, so i cannot review.
Overall, I would stay here again, but would not be my first choice. However, it is not on my «no way in hell would I stay there again». It is not an optimal business stay location, but will work in a pinch.

Stayed here for just one night.
Staff was friendly. Room was clean.
They have complimentary breakfast, but I didn’t have any.
There is a very small armoire for you to hang your clothes.
Bed was comfy.

This hotel also houses homeless families and these ppl are destroying the quite neighborhood of Travis they are very sketchy

Stayed here because I had an early flight and didn’t want to be in traffic at 6:30 in the morning.
Thoughts: the room is probably the smallest I have ever stayed in, but it had everything I needed. Let’s just say, efficient use of space. The first room smelled a bit mildew-​ish/​stale cigarettes, but they accommodated and gave another room. The second room still had a stench, but it was better than the first so I stayed. Other than that, the room was clean and decent. For the price of the room, I would stay again if I had another early flight.

Got to give credit for their night shift team. They had accommodate almost 250 angry pax from stupid American Airlines cock up. Team has remained calm, courteous even in complicated situations and were finely able to have everyone into a room.
Room size are a bit smaller than regular but if you are on NYC or Staten Island for tourism whole day, this should not be a problem. Just be aware it is better to get some groceries and water up front because stores might require a car drive.
Even the recently used rooms have been cleaned in a hurry, mine was mint, so thanks a lot.
This hotel is on my list for NY vacation someday, should I decide to stay on State Island. Good job!

Super clean and very nice! Hotel staff from the front desk to the shuttle driver. Have been great from start to finish. The room however compact this more than sufficient. Smells nice all over from the basement where the ice machines and vending machines as well as breakfast area and 24 hour coffee and tea. The only thing that could be improved is the shuttle service between the hotel and the Staten Island ferry, is only every 2 hours between 8am and 10pm. You can’t always get on their shuttle because it services 3 hotels in the same property so seating/​space is limited. Hats off to all the staff as they are reason the hotel is so successful.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The room was really very very small. Can’t imagine where a fridge would be placed if I had been able to get one. The hair dryer did not work. The only ice machine in the building was in the cellar.
The Wi-​Fi had a ridiculously slow connection speed. The elevator was so slow, I could take the stairs from the 5^th floor and be out to the car (in the micro-​sized parking lot) and back in the hotel as my friends were just getting off the elevator.
The breakfast downstairs in the cellar (C Level) was ok — I had fake scrambled eggs (McDonald’s quality) and quite good coffee. There was a waffle iron and some other choices that I just didn’t take but looked good. Breakfast room was not able to accommodate a large crowd though. The breakfast staff wasn’t overly attentive; I had to go back after them to ask them to refill the empty coffee carafes…
For an overnight stay, it was OK. I would want an extended stay — the terrible wi-​fi, painfully slow elevator, and incredibly small parking area prevented this from getting an A-​OK rating. Price seemed high to me for what was actually delivered (vs. the expectations). I didn’t expect such a tiny room.

Clean. Single rooms are SMALL. Not good for tourist visits but then again why would you stay in Staten Island?

I will start by saying I had a very late check in and very early check out. Even at the late hour, the man at the front desk was gracious and it was a pretty speedy process.
Upon entering my room from the snowy snowy outside, I appreciated the fact that it was already warm! The room I stayed in was TINY so if you are at all claustrophobic I suggest you look somewhere else. I had no problem with this, though, because the bed was SO comfortable. I was sleeping on a cloud.
I know they offer a breakfast but I was out in the morning before it started. There is also a gym, no pool.

Comfort Inn on Staten Island. Well, let me start by saying Its good to know that there are more hotels on Staten Island other than the over priced Hilton and Hampton Inn (South Ave). I went there for a short stay and it is TINY. One elevator and very small parking lot. Yet, I will say that I was surprised when I got to the room. It was clean (both living area and the bathroom) and it was designed with a modern décor. The window opens up to a dark abyss which makes you want to close the curtains but hey, it is Staten Island. The only complain I really have about this place is it is really small. Its suitable for 1 or maybe 2 people for a stay of no more than 2 or 3 days top. The room is so small that there is no closet (only a portable wardrobe chest) I thought it was pretty funny to see a hotel so small but had all the amenities of a big hotel.
Front Desk: pleasant and nice. They asked if i had a computer so they could give me the code for the internet. When I checked out, I was given a 15% off coupon to use if I came back. All in All it was OKAY accommodations. I didn’t bother checking out the breakfast spread b/​c even some of the better hotels have a insulting breakfast spread so I ditched it and went on my way.
Its not a 5 star accommodations but its Comfortable for a short stay. I recommend :-)

My husband and I were in the process of moving to Staten Island and needed a reasonably priced place to stay while we searched for housing. There are very few hotels on Staten Island, and fewer yet reviews. We settled on the Comfort Inn because of the rate and the military discount.
The room was small and cramped. There was perhaps 3 feet of space around the king sized bed (which took up 90% of the room). Also, for a king sized bed it was relative short, as my husband (who is 5’6) had his feet dangling off the edge while he slept. As a 5’9 person myself, dangling feet was nothing new to me.
The room we were in did not have a fridge or a microwave, and if it did I have no idea where they would put it. Breakfast is only offered until 9:30, so if you’re planning on sleeping in AND getting a free meal, you had better think again.
For the price, the hotel was okay. After spending 3 days there though, we were ready to find a place with more space and amenities.

It was a pretty bad experience, for a fairly new hotel they do not have their act together. The rooms were dirty, as in the sheets havent been changed. I was there as part of a wedding party and the front desk staff were rude when we complained about dirty sheets, crumbs etc. The elevators were brutal, or should i say the elevator. The only one they had takes forever to get around. The breakfast area was in the basement and the one waffle machine they have had the smoke alarms blaring out loud. Clearly the didn’t have proper ventilation. A poor design and poor management. They didn’t even have a manager present, who we asked to speak to. The person at the front desk was rude and didn’t know how to deal with people.
