Bagel Bistro Diner & Grill

Ordered food from here for the first and LAST time the other day. It took TWO HOURS to get our food, and the service was less than helpful.
My husband and I figured this place had enough good reviews to be worth it, so we ordered ourselves a buttered bagel, an omelette, and some blueberry pancakes through seamless. As usual, we got the confirmation texts telling us when they received and started working on our order, with an estimated delivery time of 40 minutes later. About an hour after getting the confirmation text, I called the place. The woman who answered said that they had received the order and that they «we’re working on it.» She said she couldn’t give me an estimated time for when to expect our food. So we waited. About an hour and a half after receiving our food, I got a text saying the estimated time was moved to 2pm — a whole TWO HOURS after receiving the confirmation that they received our order.
I remind you again, it took this place two hours to make an omelette, some pancakes, and a buttered bagel. The food was okay, but not worth the wait.

I wish I could give it a ZERO. Just got home from being there over an hour (we never ate, just walked out!) and still never got our food! People behind us came half hour after us and got their food before we did. Waitress did not even seem to care when we told her. WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. WORST SERVICE ON THE PLANET!!!

If I could give zero stars I most definitely would. I ordered at 10:00 am my delivery did not show up until 12:00 WORST PLACE EVER NOT WORTH THE WAIT AT ALL FOOD EAS COLD!!! Two hours for this I will never be ordering from here again !!!

Ugh the chubby younger waitress with glasses is the worst, so stuck up and straight out rude. Food is decent like regular diner food. Nothing special. Liked this place better back in the day before it was called soulvaki express.

We always ate here when the previous owner (frank) was there. I recently went in, and ordered a bagel. I found it strange that the guy I saw playing with his phone and smoking had to run in and take my order away from the guy who was about to make it. I walked out after asking that someone else make it and they ignored me. He was smoking and didn’t even wash his hands or wear a glove. Never went there again.

Used to come here often for the bagels and sandwiches to bring home for the family to eat on Sunday’s. They aren’t the worst but they aren’t by any means the best. It’s expensive here and the bagels are huge but not good. Even the egg sandwiches they can never get right. Either my eggs are too runny or they forget the tomato and lettuce. Always something wrong here.

If you just want to grab a bagel with nothing on it, you’ll love this place. Their bagels ARE good, but the service is so horrible, I pass this place up now to go somewhere ten minutes out of my way. My thing is that I’ve dealt with so many incorrect orders and attitude in the past that I don’t feel comfortable giving my money for even a bagel.
I used to try getting breakfast here and without fail, they messed up every single time. What kills me is that the guy will write down your order as you’re speaking to him… So I would love to know what he writes down because I’ve seriously never wound up with what I’ve asked for. On a day where I asked for a wrap with egg whites, I’ve gotten scrambled egg omelets. We’ll ask for ham, we get turkey. We’ve asked for rye toast (toast comes with specific meals) and they forget he toast completely but don’t forget to charge extra for something that shouldn’t be charged in the first place. When you ask for a little cream cheese, they will put a pound on your bagel even as you’re trying to get their attention to remind them that you said a little.
Also, they keep their muffins on top of the counter in baking trays, uncovered. Without fail, every time I started to say that one looked good, a bug would end up on one of the muffins.
My favorite part is how they like to make up prices. You’ll ask for a specific meal number and even though the price is clearly on the board for say $ 6.95, they’ll mark it as $ 9.50 and they’ll try to argue with you.
This place was once pretty good, but it’s gotten real bad real fast over the last several months. There is a huge language barrier, I believe. It’s all I can assume seeing as nothing ever comes out right… Even when I’m the only one in the store. Either that, or they simply don’t care.

I pass by this place regularly and went in for a sandwich for the first time on a Sunday morning. I was excited as inside looked clean and comfortable looking tables for breakfast. I ordered 2 bagels with butter and 2 wraps. There were 2 other people behind me and the guy taking order looked flustered. I didn’t mention toasted for the bagels and got cold bagels with lots of butter. Other delis/​bakeries always check if the bagels should be toasted. Not this place. I asked for a chicken salad wrap but instead got a grilled chicken balsamic wrap! And the gouda cheese for the turkey wrap was missing. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because the bagels are good, big and fresh. Otherwise will not be visiting this place again.

The restaurant has some things going for it. It looks good, it’s well stocked and very clean. However the bagels are mediocre at best, and the customer service is non existent. The person who took my order had an awful attitude and acted bothered by my very presence. Not really a great way to treat your customers. I left there feeling terrible and barely had an appetite for what I ordered. I would never go here again.

Ordered here for the first time the other day. Delivery took about a half hour to 45min, food was still warm, and food was good. Not sure why other reviews are so poor. My experience was food.

Got a bagel with cream cheese and lox and a gyro, both to go. The deli counter guys were very helpful and my requests for extra cream cheese and white gyro sauce were no problem. The bagel was very tasty and fresh, while the gyro was good not great. The lamb was not as tasty as at Dimitri’s. Total bill was $ 17.40 including tax and I left a $ 1 tip. I shall return.

I really like this place. The owner is very nice and the employees are humble. They go out of their way to make the customer happy. The food is good & the bagels are delicious but a little doughy. That’s why I ask them to take the dough out. Most of all they have the best coffee on this Island. Five stars over Starbucks & DD. A must try.

I love this place. The bagels here are delicious and the pastries look really good too. Always friendly and go out of their way to get everything just right.

My fave bagel place! Get the egg bagel toasted with lox spread orrrr the French toast bagel, which tends to run out, so go early! Their bagels are awesome! Nice, big and fluffyyyyy! YUMMM!

I ordered Falafel Platter (fries and greek salad included) and Zucchini Sticks for lunch. What a disappointment. The falafel was tasteless, good thing for the yoghurt sauce and the zucchini sticks, were soggy. I actually enjoyed the salad. Called this place a bistro? I do not think so. I chose this place to order lunch, because it was close enough for delivery to my job. I often see this place but never walked in.
I will try again for the bagels and breakfast menu and will update the review. Unti then, find another diner to get lunch.

Ordered Grilled chicken with red peppers and mozzarella. Taste was good except my wrap had No mozzarella on it :(Service is very poor :(

Awesome food. Shit ass service. It’s a fairly small place, there are very few tables to wait on. You have one job! They need to to hire waitresses that are aware of thier surroundings and who give a shit about their job. One waitress with green eyes was actually good.

The food is always yummy but they are always forgetting things, usually its the bacon on my husbands BACON BURGER… get your stuff together. We order from them on Grub hub which is awesome. Today my husband’s burger was half raw with no bacon. Can’t complain about your make your own salad bar. Just wish they paid attention to the orders.

I’ve passed this place many times but never went in. Finally stopped in for a breakfast sandwhich on a bagel today. Wow the bagels were fresh and really big. They have a nice selection of cream cheeses. The staff was friendly and the service was good. They also have a small sitdown section with waitress service. I will be returning.
