I have ordered from this restaurant before and the food was fine. This time, however, I ordered hot and sour soup and mei fun. Both were very oily. I ordered extra vegetables with the pork mei fun. The portion size was huge, but only about a ¼ pound of pork if that. Hardly any veggies and no flavor. It’s my closest place for Chinese, so I was disappointed.

Pretty good food! Probably one of the best places to get Chinese food in state college. They have a lunch special from 11 – 3 which comes with meat, rice, and a soda OR Eggroll. Costs about $ 7. I also recommend the boneless spare ribs! Tastes great!

My family’s go-to Chinese restaurant. Their service is fast and the food is always delicious. Our usual order consists of general tso’s, sweet and sour pork, and chicken and broccoli. I usually get 3 meals out one order of general tso’s. When I go to school in Buffalo I always miss Lychee’s

Ordered the food for delivery and was really disappointed. We waited more than an hour for the food. We called the restaurant to check our order but they didn’t pick up when we first called. Even after picked up, the staff sounded really confusing. The food was okay but not worth to wait that long.

Not too shabby. Gotta remember this is cheap chinese so expectations should be tapered. Portions are huge. Even tho ur payin on avg 10 bux a dish itll last u at least 4 meals. Food– #10 Boneless Spare Ribs($ 9): Since its boneless its jus meat. Reminds me of bbq pork in a way. It kinda uses the same sauce, but it pretty much comes out like those wok dishes u get at americanized chinese places. Not to say it was bad tho cuz it was actually pretty good but it wasnt really what i expected. I would recommend it but i probably wouldnt get it again as it wasnt what i was lookin for. #S7: Subgum Wonton($ 12): This is like a medley of stuff… vegetables, beef, chicken, shrimp, and fried wontons. The fried wonton skin was meh. It was way too thick, but cudo in that theres meat inside and it wasnt completely soggy when i got it. I would recommend, but I wouldnt get again. This is a good dish if u need proteins n veggies. #108 Beef Ho Fun w/black bean sauce($ 9): Mmm this was jus ok. Ive had better/worse. Hits the spot enough if ur craving he/ho fun noodles. Overall i wasnt too disappointed by the food nor was i wowed. There may have been slight disappointment on execution but everything still tasted pretty decent. I feel like this place is probably on par wit all the other Americanized chinese joints. With that bein said id probably gamble n try other spots jus on the merit that there could be better out there but this place is certainly not bad.

Lychee Resto is about as good as it gets for American-Chinese food. The owners, Sam and Chen, are great guys who are always willing to chat or make a recommendation. The General Tso’s is great but my personal favorite is the Beef Ho Fun. Hands down, the best Beef Ho Fun I’ve ever had. Ever. The Singapore Mei Fun is a close second. Delivery times are fast and pickup times are even faster. There are a few tables in the restaurant if you like to dine in, but it’s not the strong point of this place. The prices can’t be beat and, as of the time of this review, there’s only a $ 1.00 delivery charge for places exceeding three miles from the store. If you’re within that range, there’s no delivery fee and that’s tough to beat when there’s only a $ 7.00 minimum for delivery. If you’re not in the mood to leave the house for fine dining, Lychee Resto is totally clutch when you’re in the mood for Chinese.

Tasty food, one of the better ones in town, and service that is way more punctual and friendly than any other Chinese place in the area. Definitely my go-to for Chinese in State College.

Ok. Going to keep this short and sweet. And try not to be too hurtful. Tried some take out here on 6−4−15. This place was recommended to me by loving sister. And that’s the nicest thing I can say. They have sweet and sour pork that had no pork taste. Typical hot pink sweet and sour sauce you get at any Americanized Chinese place. The fried rice was of an unnatural yellow color and was just there. The General chicken was edible and actually had some spice. The Lo Mein was the highlight because it was over seasoned with soy sauce so it had actual flavor. It’s cheap Americanized fare. If you want better look else where.

I love the man that works there! He is handsome and nice! The prices in this place are super hyper cheap! The won tom soup is delicious and I always order the fat fried dumplings. If you like to eat Chinese, thats the place.

Downloaded Unilocal just to rat out this business. Hot and spicy«chicken» contained 1 mcnugget worth of chicken. I paid $ 10 for not-so-spicy onions and peppers. Absolutely ridiculous. Never felt so ripped off before in my life.

This is a pretty decent greasy spoon chinese restaurant. Prices are fair, delivery is pretty quick and service is always friendly and nice.

Order delivery on a Thursday night from Lychee and it was the first time I had ever eaten from there. Had heard good reviews for the General Tsos chicken so I ordered the dinner combo with pork fried rice and a wonton soup Firstly, I have to say that I was really impressed with the delivery. From online order to my dorm it was only about 40 minutes, which aside from Uncle Chens 20 minute materialization, is light speed for Chinese delivery. Before I even opened the takeout box I knew everything was still hot which is a big issue of mine. Huge portion of generals that was accompanied by an equally large portion of rice. The rice wasn’t special but the chicken was above average. Still crispy even with generous amounts of sauce, and had a satisfying spiciness that you expect from the«order extra spicy get extra mild» style if most places. A solid meal overall for the price. Wonton soup left something to be desired but other than that I would return.

Very good food and a very reasonable price. Ordered an egg roll, spring rolls, hot and sour soup and also a vegetable fried rice. The total was less than $ 13 and all of the items ordered were good. Plus it only took about five minutes for them to make everything.

Lychee can’t be beat for the quality and quantity of food you get for your dollar. Whether you are looking for a quick bit for yourself or dinner for the family Lychee’s value can’t be beat!

Did this place go downhill or did I just go on an off night? Or was everyone else high and craving Chinese when they wrote their reviews? Either way, I was disappointed here. As is the case for most of us Americans, I can’t help but love some greasy«Chinese» food from time to time. And I’m not a big fan of the authentic stuff, anyway. So that’s not my complaint at all. My complaint is that the food just didn’t taste good. We ordered from here on a night when Fuji & Jade was too busy to take phone orders and the food was straight up abysmal. The dumplings were small, hard, and lacked flavor, the General Tso’s was soggy with too much breading, and the cold sesame noodles had a brown oily sauce on them instead of the usual creamy sauce, which I was not into. The price was good for the amount of food, but I don’t think I’d risk ordering from here again.

This is five stars for price vs. quality ratio. Lychee Resto is not gourmet Chinese food, but it’s really tasty, lots of variety on the menu, really fast and very affordable(student-friendly prices). Don’t be fooled, when we first moved to State College we thought it must be a bad place to eat because there were never any people inside and few cars ever parked there. Probably 95% of their customers get take-out or delivery and they have many loyal customers, including our family now. We always choose take-out and live nearby. The food is always hot, fresh and ready when we get there 10 minutes later. They have all the typical Americanized Chinese fare, cooked well(non-vegetarians should get combos with the pork fried rice, mmmm!) such as Orange Chicken, crispy with just the perfect amount of tasty sauce. For those more adventurous, they have really tasty soups and some noodle dishes you may not have tried before. I am in LOVE with the Singapore Mei Fun. It’s spicy thin fried rice noodles with veggies and chicken, bbq’d pork and shrimp in a fairly dry, sortof curry spice mix. I also love the rice cake dishes. These are nickel-sized rice disks(think pasta-ish) cooked with the veggies or meat of your choice in a light sauce. The texture and flavor of the rice cake dishes is unique and satisfying. We’re still working our way through the extensive menu at Lychee Resto, but we try something new almost every time and we have yet to find an item that is not cooked with care and effort that’s delicious. This place is home to food with many unique flavors and great value for the price.

I ordered delivery through lionmenus so I haven’t seen their physical location(right next to Papa John, in that little plaza, on South Atherthon), but the idea of a restaurant most for delivery is appealing to me(focus on food, perhaps?). We ordered a full serving of General Tso(final holiday splurges) to share, and asked for spicy. The food came quickly: about 30−40min.The container had«spicy» written on it, suggesting they actually performed my request. The chicken was very lightly breaded, a good change from all the other places around(except for golden wok) who give you very little chicken with lots of breading. The sauce was dark and mildly spicy but delicious. I will say that this is the best General Tso I’ve had in town. The brocoli added to the container was drenched in sauce, as it looked more like a soup. The rice was not overcooked. Hunan Wok? Unsanitary and simply unedible food. Authentic China Wok? 1.5h average wait for delivery. Golden Wok? Tiny portions and terrible service. Chopsticks Express? Delicious but no delivery. Uncle Chen? Inconsistent. Lychee looks like a wonderful holiday gift! I will try again. Note: Free delivery on lionmenus, $ 6 minimum.

Another Chinese restaurant in town? Yes, and I am happy about it… having more choices in this town is a good thing. In fact, this recent addition may be my go-to place for Chinese takeout. Beef Ho Fun was very good(see pic). Appears to have been designed for take-out and delivery, but there are about 3 tables and 3 window counter seats should one decide to dine-in. The interior is simple, bright and clean. We dined in and found the service extremely friendly.
