I just ordered $ 30 + in delivery food, took three bites of rice, scooped the inside out of a wonton that had very thick and gooy skin, and took two bites of the hibachi rubber chicken and rubber scallop entrée. Unfortunately, it all went directly into the garbage. Did not pass«Go». Did not get back my $ 30. Moving on to better restaurants in State College.

The website said delivery would be 45 minutes or less and I waited 2 hours. Not worth it at all.

Probably one of the best sushi place with great price especially during lunch special. However, the service is blergh… The server was really unfriendly, not all though, just this one female server with straight long hair. She looked like she just had a bad day everyday. Never smiled, almost like never welcomed us in the restaurant, rolling eyes to customers. The other server with glasses was the nicest. Overall, a great sushi place if you dont care being treated unpleasantly. The food is awesome. (update): Dined again in this restaurant, this time its for dinner. Ordered mapo tofu among other things. It was written $ 7.95(if I remember correctly) in the menu. When I saw my check, they charged me $ 9.95 instead! Trying to keep myself composed, I asked the waitress about it and she said the price was raised yesterday and they didnt have the time to change it on the menu yet. WHAT? I asked for the price reduction and they did, and the LOVELYWAITRESS just put(more like slam) the new check on my table and just made her way back to the kitchen without saying anything or at least a sorry! Note to mention that the waitress that we had to deal with was the same one that I mentioned in the initial review. Worst experience ever! Please Fuji Jade, do change the menu if you ever wanted to raise the price. Also, please advice your waitress to act like a real waitress. Thank you.

We just passed the 2 hour mark and still have not gotten food. Took an hour to seat us and take our order. Ruined Valentine’s Day date.

I would give it zero stars if I could. Delivery took NEARLYTHREEHOURS!!! I ordered around 6:50 pm and it is now 9:40 and it is still«on it’s way» according to the restaurant. Happened to my friend(took an hour and a half) also when she ordered from them a few nights ago, but I thought I would chalk that up to just a bad night and try it myself. I live approximately a 5 minutes drive from the restaurant. I would have driven there myself if I had a car, but I don’t so I thought delivery would be sufficient. I ordered online and gave a more than generous delivery tip, but now I am wishing I hadn’t, because a 45% tip was far too good for a two hour wait. I don’t even want the food anymore, because I know for a fact it will be ice cold by the time it gets here. Definitely never ordering here again… I’ve had their food before and only had to wait 45 minutes so maybe it really is just a bad night, but there’s no excuse for a 3 hour wait, especially when I called after an hour and 45 minutes and they said«yeah yeah it’s on it’s way now» and I live 5 minutes down the street… Eventually, I gave up, called the restaurant and asked to cancel my order. The food arrived not 5 minutes later.

The food here is usually pretty decent. But the service for takeout is absolutely terrible. If you order, don’t bother showing up less than 90 minutes later, regardless of the estimate they give you over the phone. On weekends and holidays, complete kitchen meltdowns due to too many orders appear to be common. It’s an interesting paradox, how it’s always so busy when the service is so bad. The food is not good enough for this, I would advise going to almost any Chinese restaurant in town as an alternative.

Consistently the worst service I have received in State College. We eat here fairly often, because the food is good and they have a bar. The only comparable rest. is Sichuan bistro and their service is terrible with NO bar. So Fuji wins, the food is very good, that’s why we go. But, most recently, we ate there on xmas day and yesterday(Chines New Year). Food was great, service absolutely terrible. The waitress couldn’t answer questions about the menu, fine, there’s a language barrier that’s ok, but what I can’t deal with is they NEVER check on the food once you get it, fill water, or clear plates. The very basics of good service. We had to get up and ask for water, ask for sauce that was missing, get up and over and over again to clear our own plates to another table. We were a big table, LOTS of dirty plates piling up, some got dessert, and their empty dinner plates weren’t cleared. She never brought the pots of tea we ordered, we had to ask another server, and we had to ask for fortune cookies. Every one of these things happened both times with 2 different waitresses(and in the past!). The redeeming part… a different server and the bartender(who is well known in town for being very good) both overheard us needing things and were fast to respond and get what we needed. Will plan on sitting at the bar or requesting the other server when we return.

Ordered delivery round 930 pm and food got to me an hr later so not great but not terrible but might hafta keep in mind that the taste of the food will definitely decrease. Food: Classic oyako don(description says chicken cubes w/egg and onions over rice): Dish is in their japanese section. Didnt really know what to expect but it kinda reminds me a lil of those japanese tv dinners i used to get. It doesnt look anything like the pictures of when i googled oyako don lol. Its also not very eggy leading me to believe that the dish was probably slightly butchered. Another minus is that i can see that the chicken was breaded like a katsu but the chicken wasnt crispy at all and in fact the breading was falling off the chicken… ill probably attribute that to it having to be delivered and not consumed immediately. Problems aside, it actually tasted pretty good. Dunno if id order it again tho General Tso’s Delight(general tso chicken and shrimp): Chicken tasted good. Shrimp was terrible… It feels that the shrimp was breaded by a totally different person. There was way too much breading. This leads me to believe that the chicken was probably already premade and the shrimp was made fresh but hastily hence lazy overbreading of the shrimp. Imagine an onion ring with too much of the fried stuff… thats what this is like. Overall, im still not exactly sure what this place excels at. My guess is maybe the more authentic stuff and maybe the japanese stuff is ok… I dont think anything was terrible cept the shrimp so id probably stay away from the fake chinese stuff. The rest of the food was ok so id probably rate this more of as a 2.75 star experience.

We decided to go to Fuji and Jade for our anniversary and that was probably the worst dining experience I’ve had in this town. The food was fine, this was not the issue. However, service was terrible. We ordered drinks to start(a bottle of wine and a beer for me). We got the wrong wine twice so I just gave up and drank the one they brought(which was more expensive…). The bartender poured two glasses and I then got my beer. That’s when he came to me and told me that I am not allowed to have two glasses on the table(he is the one who poured the wine and then made me feel bad for enjoying the beer I ordered. Read the order…).Our waitress was totally unable to explain the menu. I asked her what she thought was best between the duck and the beef and scallop entrée. Her answer was: «The duck takes about 20mn to make and the beef and scallops taste like scallops. I cannot tell you anything more». At the end of the meal, we asked to cork the bottle to take it home and the bartender came to us, menu in hand, telling us that there is no way for us to do that and that it says it right on the menu(which is twelve pages long and was so sticky that we just picked something and did not spend half an hour reading everything. Did I mention it was our anniversary?). So he told us we had to finish it there(and drive, I guess they don’t care about that) or that we should consider offering it to another table as a gift… This was just ridiculous. The waiter should let you know when you order an expensive bottle of wine that you will have to finish it. Anyway, food was fine(nothing extraordinary) but this was the worst service we ever had. We will not go back there.

Their Chinese is really tasty. I ordered their general tsos and the chicken was great. The cheese wontons were great, too. By far, one of the best tasting Chinese places in SC. However, after I ate I felt like crap for a few hours… which I wasn’t thrilled about.

Not what I was expecting. I wanted good fresh food. State College must have the best right? When we went there it was almost empty. First clue… fried food was in old grease. Second clue… Keep looking for another place. It has to be better than this restaurant. Good luck

The garden is not what is used to be. My recent visit was disappointing. I guess being a party of two does not entitle us to the hibachi«show» that the other tables received. The chef did the bare minimum and we never received the shrimp appetizer. He kept confusing regular steak and filet and you don’t get as much as you used too. The meat was delicious but the rice and noodles were way too salty. They also don’t tell you that it’s an extra $ 2.00 for fried rice until you get the bill. This place is no longer a favorite in the area.

*** Update, no sushi buffet either :( YUCK. Let me start by saying, I gave two stars, not one, because the place is huge, they have a sushi buffet on weekday afternoons, lots of parking, and a huge menu. That said, I got their takeout. I got chicken lo men… it was so bland! The only real flavor was from the TONSANDTONS of bean sprouts. To top it off, I got Beef Ho Fun. Bland again, with almost as many bean sprouts as the lo mein. Lastly, we got their potsticker/dumplings. Damn fine!!! Normally, I like potstickers to be in a thin pasta, but these are thick. Super good. Or we were just hungry from not eating our other dishes. I’ll report back after I try the buffet.

We ordered some take-out’s on phone and went there to pick them up. The people working there were really friendly, and I’m pretty sure one of the ladies was the boss(‘ wife). The food tasted good. We ordered wu-xi pork ribs and sizzling tofu.(I’m just making these names up… we ordered in chinese…) So, the ribs are cooked in a sweet and slightly sour sauce, served with baby bok choy. It tasted good, but just a little too sweet for me. And the sizzling tofu are fried soft tofu on a bed of iceberg lettuce with a black pepper sauce. This dish is my favorite. I guess the only con I noticed was the time we’d been waiting for. We drove for about 15 minutes there, and then wait for another 10 or 15 minutes. There were only 2 table of guests there when we arrived, and one of them had already got their food. But overall, it worth the wait. And if I were to visit State College again, I would like to have lunch here again. (Fairly speaking, it would be a 3-star. But it’s State College instead of LA, so yeah, an additional star for sc. XD)

What can I say??? Meh. If you like sweet, fried American style Chinese takeaway-quality food this place isn’t bad. They do quite a business, which keeps the sushi and seafood fresh, but does saying«I’ve never gotten sick eating here» qualify as good sushi? Perhaps. Two things to know: 1) The bartender is one of the best and most creative in town. It’s well worth bellying up and asking him to make you something delicious then watching him work. He also works hard to bring in unique beers and liqueurs. 2) There’s an eat in only«secret menu»! Ok, so it’s in the front of the menu so it’s not so secret, but it’s only in the full menu and not online or in the takeaway menu. It’s filled with authentic Chinese dishes. Things you can’t pronounce and things that don’t translate well. Be brave and point to something and chances are you’ll have one of your better meals here.

In town to visit an old friend; this was one of the places she suggested. I peeked at their website and saw that they offered legit Shanghainese food and picked it. There’s a separate menu of just authentic dishes that they don’t put on the website, and it’s full of deliciousness. It took a while to pick something because the choices were many. In the end I picked chili chicken, a dish I’m sure I’ve had elsewhere with potatoes. This wasn’t the same dish but was still absolutely delicious. Pieces of chicken were deep fried — properly, so they weren’t greasy at all — and then cooked with hot peppers to make one spicy dish. Tasty, spicy hot, and enough food for two meals. My friend got their Singapore-style mai fun [rice noodles] and the amount they served was ginormous! We also got some nigiri sushi to share. It wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t anything special. We had no issues with service, which was friendly and helpful. I would come back here again, were I in town, just for the authentic food.

I came here for their all-you-can-eat sushi lunch. Surprisingly, it wasn’t bad. The rice portion wasn’t too much. That’s how you roll sushi. I’ve also been here for some of their traditional Chinese cuisine. It’s whatever that is in between not good and satisfactory… I think the word is «OK.» I can’t get some of the more traditional dishes at other places in State College so for that I will give 3 stars. That’s generous. Also, there’s terrible service. I see that a lot of people have mentioned this so I don’t know why management has not corrected this yet.

Great all-you-can-eat maki sushi lunch special! M-F from 11am-3pm for $ 14.95. The quality of the sushi was surprisingly good, not too much rice in proportion to fish, and the fish seemed fresh. Also, they did not skimp on the rolls for the special. They start you off with 4 full rolls, and then you can go for more after that.

In a place where the overwhelming number of bars cater to a demographic perfectly content chugging craptastic, candy-colored concoctions the size of your head, this bar is a true gem for a clientele significantly more discerning about its poison of choice on any given evening. It’s where adult drinkologists can enjoy an eclectic portfolio of cocktail standards and numerous lesser-known libations, all of which favor subtlety and nuance over cupcake-flavored crimes against the world of spirits as a whole. The bar manager’s extensive experience and knowledge has earned him a loyal following of local barflies, but even total cocktail noobs who’ve never ventured beyond a Cosmopolitan can pick his brain for recommendations by sharing their likes and preferences in a drink. Furthermore, he encourages the bar staff not only to continuously educate themselves on spirits, mixers, bitters, etc., but to explore, develop and create new drinks that may or may not make it onto the next menu(a little birdie told me a new drink list is in the works for the coming year). The staff is friendly, helpful and always professional. Best nights to cozy up to the bar are Tue/Wed/Thur/Sun; weekend nights tend to get crowded(surprise!), and seating is limited. And just in case you might feel a little peckish: most of the menu items from the restaurant can be served at the bar — all ya gotta do is ask. Sure, it may not have the hipster atmosphere of your favorite pretend speakeasy in the big bad city… but that’s where the drinks come in, silly. Salute.
